SO TRUE. 54 and i just can’t believe i was so critical of myself when i was young. Vic everyday just say i am beautiful and comparison is the thief of JOY. And speaking of joy, work on that. When you are happy inside out you will feel as beautiful as you ever have (which is saying something!).
I’m 35 and I can’t believe how I used to think I’m fat when I was stick thin. Now I’ve gained a little weight and I’m embracing it and looking at myself in a better way.
I’ll be 58 this June. I 100% agree with you. I wish I could have enjoyed my thirties and 40s.

This is exactly what my therapist says! One of my top qualities is kindness to others, yet I'm so unnecessarily mean to myself. My therapist asks "You're thinking xyz about yourself, but would you say it to someone else?". I'm still working on being kinder to myself because I (*all of us*) deserve it!🖤

I saw a reel recently, I actually think it was Jimmy Carr and he said "in 25 years I think you'd give me everything you have to be in the body you have now" and that really resonated with me. I'm 40 this year and I've been trying to change my body for over half my life but when I look back I don't see the imperfections I thought were there at the time.
So I'm changing my goals.
I want my body to be strong.
I want my body to be pain free.
I want my body to be happy.
No numbers, no measurements, just me.
These are the best goals!! Just love xx

Just dropping in to say thank you for loving yourself! My brother gets married next weekend, I set myself a goal in January to get to the gym more and eat better so I felt my best. I didn't get to my goal but I made a tonne of progress and I've changed my relationship with the gym and sugar for the better. I can feel myself feeling better about me and that's never happened before! X

Dear Victoria! I have been a subscriber for quite a few years and have always loved your channel for your honesty, transparency, fabulous sense of humor, fashion/make-up expertise, interior decorating, healthy lifestyle, family, gardening, etc. After listening to your discussion about how we as women tend to body-shame ourselves really spoke volumes. As a very young, "senior adult" I have put on 30 lbs in the past ten months due to a back injury. I wasn't able to exercise and work out. Consequently, after a few months, the weight just kept increasing. Your honest reflections have motivated me to have the courage and perseverence to get back into the gym to become physically stronger and healthier. Thank you!💜

And so incredible of you to share your raw thoughts on the history of your body image. It truly does happen to all of us, no matter our body type, but we have to fight the outward perception and embrace who we are. You have been working hard these last few months and it really shows! I'm about to turn 40 and I'm currently on day 50 of consistent daily Pilates. I've been committed to showing up on my mat 4x a week for the last 4 years but now I'm so addicted to the strengthening, lengthening, defining, energising power of movement that I can't wait to exercise every day. I am fitter, stronger, healthier and happier now than I was at 25. I definitely speak much more kindly to myself these days, so I relate wholeheartedly to everything you've so wisely and eloquently shared here, Victoria. You really do look incredible with visible definition in your arms and abs, but even more so with your confidence shining though. Just GORGEOUS, I love it so much!

I thought it was lovely to see how much effort you made for Suzie! Personally, I think women dress for women. Working in retail when I was young, many women would come to the store to find something they could wear to fit in with their crowd. I never had a woman explain that they were dressing themselves to impress a man. They were all hoping to gain approval from their girlfriends. Women should uplift other women not make them feel lesser than. I'm glad you have found a group of women who recognise you and appreciate you, not only for your appearance but for the business woman that you are and the empathetic friend you can be 🥰
That little rant about women being too hard on themselves... True words. Very freaking true. Touched me on a whole other level. And YES, I am also excited for PROPER Victoria's Secret FS. It was empowering. Why and where did we ever get that shaming stuff from? Those shows are a dream, a fantasy. I think being honest in our journey, especially when in an influential position, is vitally important, even though I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to be so vulnerable with thousands of people you don't actually know. Because anyone looking at you would think she's absolutely stunning, I'm gonna do what she's doing, when in actuality you yourself have been searching for the "thing" that would make you look at yourself and smile. As a long time viewer I'd always suspected as much, but its good to hear you being really open and honest about it. One thing I wish is that we would stop associating honesty with negativity, reality is what it is, and that honesty is relatable to more people than luxury is, so never be afraid or ashamed to share your truth. It emboldens and strengthens you over time 😊
I think it's quite common for women to have a perfect vision in our head thats absolutely not realistic, and personally it tooks me 2 years of therapy to appreciate my body after giving birth.
It's definitely a journey to appreciate every stage of ourselves, and it is always easier said then done, but you have this super supportive group to fuel you with love and positivitiy.

I just have to say that i resonated so much with you in this vlog. I have always been so hard on myself about the way i look. I too am in my mid thirties and we grew up with the famous kate moss saying 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' it was always ingrained in us to be as small as possible and i totally felt what you were saying. Like yourseld ive recently enjoyed going to the gym to build muscle and rather than focusing on having the tinest frame possible! Thanks for this i think you are genuine and amazing. Hi V! Regarding complementing yourself, thank you for the reminder! I recognise that behaviour here in Sweden as well, and I see it in my friends instead of them saying "thank you, I love it to" they divert the compliment to something negative. It is a taught behaviour, which also means that it can be untaught! :) Go you! Keep up with the positivity!

Hey Victoria! I used to get really aggressive spots like those and realized they were related to when I would consume alcohol, especially in heavy amounts. With how our female hormones change like crazy every few years (and days lolz) our body then reacts differently to the things we intake, especially if it doesn’t serve us. Just wanted to share in case it’s insightful for you. Acne is the worst and can really get one down, so I get it! 💕

I’m 35 and I was skinny all my life until last year. I just started gaining weight and I can’t believe how I used to think I’m fat when I was skinny af. Looking back at pictures I can’t believe I used to think of myself that way. I want to lost some weight and get fit again but I’m learning to think of my body in a more positive way
I remember having what was truly a perfect figure, my hair was amazing and at that time I had the ultimate bad opinion of myself. The very smallest thing would wreck my entire day.
