People forget sometimes that (in addition to Doc's AMAZING playing) you are looking at a LOT of the first call guys in LA at the time for albums. They would do record sessions all day and then tape in the afternoon. These are guys who could play a chart almost perfectly the first read thru.
Doc sure makes a song sound good. It helps having a good chart and great players behind him. Just for my knowledge, who are the trumpets? One is Snooky Young and another is Conte Candoli.
1:05 difficult to make sense of what the drummer is doing although he does appear to be confident about it. It definitely all jives and I love the conga sound. Docs tone is so velvety and lush. Reminds me of Bobby Hackett.
Great performance by Doc and the NBC Orchestra, who is the guy with the long hair and mustache sitting down near Doc playing the electric guitar? Guy looks like he's stoned or something. Lol.

Interesting to see that the horns are behind Doc on the right. IN later years, the horns were on the left. Anyone know why they made the change?
