    Love seeing this stuff. It's a basic reason for buying 3D animation software and props for a few private, self funded ideas, but I got tired of doing it alone with a computer where technical issues and "updates" are raining on my projects too much as well. It seems faster, though. The plans, scripts and story boards are factors which I have to take up again.

    • @edupuertasfruns

      Frame by frame will have always something special. We would love to work with prime lenses but to keep the look and colors we are shooting almost with the canon 24-105 f4, it is very versatile.

    You're videos are by far the most informative and helpful for me as I'm doing a short stop-motion video for our midterm (and I have only discovered your channel just recently!!). From the concept of making armatures and how to shot each frame. Looking forward to see, perhaps, a clip, or even the trailer of this short film. :)
    P.S. I'm curious to know, what did you guys use for the girl's hair?

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  6 років тому

      +Ron Jube great, keep watching I will show little parts of the film, the trailer when we finish. And the hair, because of visual stetics, a kind of wool thread. Not great to animate but really nice

    • @13RonnieJ
      @13RonnieJ 6 років тому +1

      Yes, it is looking pretty (visually) for the ginger girl. Though, what material for the hair do you think is "much" easier to animate,so to speak... I'm very excited for that. It [the sneak peak] already looks as awesome as it is!

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  6 років тому

      +Ron Jube most films try to have not moveable hair, if this is the thing, doesn't matter the material as far as it looks ok. If you want to animate the movement of long hair you should have wires inside. Could be a shape of silicone or laika uses human hair with thin wires inbetween I think

    I have a question: Do stop motion producers record the voices before or after animating? ...because both options seem very difficult! not being able to edit mistakes.

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  6 років тому +2

      +Winter Haydn if possible, voice first, then animator copies the voice and timming. But is possible to do it later, like actors to trsnslate for other languages

  • @lwyrup66
    @lwyrup66 6 років тому +1

    Me gustaría saber cómo consigues mantener todo enfocado en tus escenarios. Es que cuando he hecho alguna animación en maqueta, al ser de un tamaño menor a un escenario natural, la profundidad de campo es menor. Entonces eso, ¿cómo haces tú para tener una mayor profundidad de campo con la cámara tan cerca?
    Y otra pregunta rápida: Cuando mueves la cámara con un slider como ese, ¿enfocas cada frame manualmente en dragonframe o hay otra forma de hacerlo?
    El cortometraje tiene muy buena pinta, estoy deseando ver el resultado!!

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  6 років тому +1

      Hola, la profundidad de campo es la que permiten las opticas, el tamaño y la distancia de las cosas. La única forma que tenemos es jugando con el diafragma y falseando la perspectiva y tamaños. Respecto al enfoque con el slider, lo hacemos con un motor tipo follow focus conectado al anillo de enfoque y al dragon. Saludos!

    i'm a filmmaking studant in Brazil that loves stop motion animations, and i'm trying a small project to practice. but i'm having a huge problem to find some free ( or crackeed haha) animation software with DSLR support and Onion Skin. And i don't have money to buy a top program so what do you suggest? haha know some place a can find a crack? have some good animation software with DSLR suport? any help will be very welcome . and thanks for inspiring me !!

      There is no free software that does the same as Dragonframe. I only can recomend you to go oldschool, I started by shooting manually on a dslr and controling the animation through a free software like stop motion studio app that is free from a phone or so. Hope this helps or gives you an idea
