In my view, the essential element is that it makes strategies other than collecting and multiplying red and blue tokens viable again... Which was my main issue with the base game. The additional starter cards - especially with the Kickstarter promos, are also very much welcomed, though less essential
Having missed the original campaign for IAWW, I got this expansion and the Heritage edition base game (so for me, the overall cost was reasonable IMHO). There is a smaller box that will contain the expansion materials and is meant to slot into the Heritage edition (although I don't think any future expansion content can be squeezed into it).
C&A expands the decision space in several ways, and there is another mini-campaign for use with L&D. An essential expansion? Not really, as there is still so much material in the IAWW base game that you may not even see the C&A cards with significant frequency.

Yes, in the overview. This expansion adds four major elements - The increased production cards, the corruption cards, the duo scoring, and the 25 point cards.
Looks like a total rip-off. Very disappointed. Again, big box, big price and little content. I won't go for it just to protest against stealing my money. But most probably lots of people will buy showing that it is okay...sad thing, it is not okay.
Fortunately a lot of games out there so I can just stop buying from certain publishers. The same I did with delicious games after getting underwater cities expansion, won't buy any more games from them. It was expensive with low actual content and production issues.
Very fair. Some people might be willing to pay the extra cost for the extra gameplay. But that's a decision that every gamer needs to make, and I can understand if some folks need to pass.
I got the underwater cities expansion from my store 31 euros so I think it was a really fair price for me.
True. You pay 75% of the price of the base game and get less than 25% of the content. I'll pass for now. Also because It doesn't seem to add much to the base game aside from the same, but more power. And about the underwater cities expansion, also very true. Paying for boards mostly that should have been in de base game in the first place. You're kind of putting a middle finger to your customers. I'll think twice before buying something from Delicious Games again. They should have apologized for the flimsy sheets and offer the boards for €10 to the people who bought the base game and start distributing a second edition with the new boards included.
The sound isn't good. I had a hard time listening to this.
