EDIT: Rake is actually even worse than mentioned in the video - the extra dollar is taken 'for the jackpot' whenever any pot is raked at all, not just increasing the cap. This means that if a $20 pot would normally be raked $2, the House instead rakes $3!
I’m a fan of Adelaide and the casino’s poker room, but I haven’t been for over 10 years. I used to get there every year in Summer. I hear the poker room isn’t as good as it used to be.
went to adelaide for work pre pandemic and tried the tournament, i think it was only a weekly wednesday at the time, anyway the dinner break was an actual free buffet for tournament players, i wonder if they are still doing that for current tournaments
Poker room location has changed since this Vlog. Not great location hopefully they have a rethink to put it in an area that has more foot traffic to have visitors play and fill the tables like it was a couple months ago. Agree rake isn’t ideal but it’s the only casino we have. There are other poker rooms in the city that may be worth the visit when they are open. 2.5 stars is a fair rating.
Playing poker at the casino is a losing proposition. Sydneys club cash poker scene is rake free, mind you, everybody take turns dealing. But at least you don't lose in the long run if you play a long session.
