... Today in this Powerstroke Central youtube video I did a video that I've been wanting to do for a long time and that is a comparison between a stock 6.7l powerstroke and my upgraded 7.3 l powerstroke. I was actually surprised my 7.3 l powerstroke kept up so well and i look forward to putting new injectors on it in the future. If you guys enjoyed this Powerstroke Central youtube video make sure to subscribe down below and give this video a thumbs up.

In the long run, the 7.3 will cost less to maintain and repair.. 7.3 for the win always
Indeed
True but it’s outdated af
Where’s the 6.0 race lmao
not before it rusts in half, there outdated asf
No i highly doubt that. A deleted and cpx pumped 6.7 is better than a 7.3 in many ways its hard to break a v8 when it only has 200hp lmao
That problem with the 6.7L is broken flywheel teeth. Not a common problem but i’ve had it plenty of times. He’ll need a starter to because that starter gear will have damage as well. It’s a massive job to do. Once he deletes all the emissions equipment off the truck it’ll get a major boost in fuel economy.
Thanks man ill let him know.
will probably film a vid on it
@@powerstrokecentral, it’s better to have a lift to do the job if you tackle the job yourself. Yes it can be done on the ground but being on your back doing the replacement is a major pain. Last one i did i believe the total price came in around $3,000. The majority of that price is labor.
@@JLCmike4014 yeah his truck is still under warranty the dealership will do it for him for free
@@powerstrokecentral, that’s good for him then. That’s also why i like the 7.3L and 6.0L engines much better. Once the 6.0L is bulletproofed it’s actually a really good engine as long as you maintain it. And the 7.3L is just so well built it’s practically indestructible.
I get very consistent 15.8 combined with my 7.3
I've also noticed my 7.3 is fast AF once it gets through those first 2 gears. But those first 2 gears take a long time to get through. Noticed you pulling away as soon as you hit mid speed
Next test weld the hoods shut on both trucks and see who last the longest before breaking down.
So other than a Hydra, your truck is running stock turbo, hpop, injectors, and transmission? That is really impressive.
Yeah I believe that sound is starter related as one of my trucks did the same thing
Yessuh luckily it’s still under warranty so they will replace it for free at the dealership.
If you had new injectors, bigger Turbo, etc, you definitely would've won that, lol.
Good video
Yessuh
The starter is not fully engaging and its grinding on flywheel is really bad for your flywheel. Or the starter is loose
Starter heard a lot of these older model ford's do that. Either it's loose or going out.
Diesels get great fuel economy depending on how you drive and what’s done to it some lbz duramaxes get 22 mpg with a ego live tune
That’s still terrible compared to your average car
@@powerstrokecentralyeah but for a truck that big and heavy and with such power, pretty impressive
you actually wont get as much power in 140hp cause your injectors, hpop, fuel pump ect are not taped for it so if you try like 80hp tune or 100hp youll notice a big difference
Yeah just really need to upgrade my injectors
I had a friend in high school and his dad had a 7.3 with a tune and he averaged over 20MPG - mostly highway driving but it was legit. The computer said he was getting over 20 but I think the computer was off a bit but even with that it was over 20. Also had an intake and exhaust with lift and 35s. Has anyone else had a 7.3 with that good of MPG?
No not that I can remember best I hear is 18
I get 20-22 on highway and about 18-20 city and on 35s, and when I get hybrid injectors that number should go up to, well hopefully anyways.
My 17 year old son inherited my brothers 7.3 and he gets 20 mph easy on the long interstate runs between Georgia and Arizona. That son of mine has a fine power stroke horse to ride the highways.
My lbz duramax gets 21mpg 6 inch lift on 35s
@@remingtonwendt7756 prove it bud
great vid! your brother needs to delete his 6.7. y'all should do videos together.
Yessuh agreed
It's funny how these younger guys are more worried about how "fast" they'😮😮😮. It's a truck (hauling towing not a fuckin race car.
My 02’ 7.3 ext cab 4x4 with 35’s, cold air intake , 5” exhaust w/ muffler delete , Edge w/ juice tuner , 315k on her and still get 18-20 driving and 13-14 pulling 28’ V-nose trailer with two RZR’s . Now I do want a new truck because the body is literally rotting away ( weight savings) living in SE Michigan and use it for a plow truck ,, but dammm ,,, I love this thing !!!
I get 22 going down the highway in my 2011 f250 it’s bone stock but I am in the works to get the dpf off and everything
Definitely got some broken flywheel teeth
Not sure why his 6.7 only gets 15mpg, my dad has a 2023 6.7 f250 crew cab long bed and gets upwards of 30mpg at 55mph and around 24mpg with a 2k pound load
😂
“Ive done a ton of stuff to this truck, a tuner, intake and an exhaust” bruh would die if he had to work on anything from a 6.0 to a 6.7
new injectors go in next week
I guess I’m lucky😂 I get 20-22mpg on highway in my 7.3 on 35s
That’s pretty crazy what’s all done to it?
Definitely don’t bud 😂 what’s your set up ?! I’d say maybe 16/17 for you
Dude. No. Y’all can’t race on a 1/16th mile strip. Get on a 1/4 mile section. The 6.7’s are known for holding back power till like 35-40 and then they unleash. Watch any video of them. If that 6.7 beat you on that small little strip, it would each you for dinner and dessert on a 1/4 mile. Just saying. Seriously.
I get 23mpg in 93 Silverado 6.5 turbo diesel 5 speed 😊
That is s smokey 7.3.
