Dany is such a great front person. Another reactor said she attacks a song the way Pau attacks the drums and I couldn't agree more. This song is just another example of what amazing song writers these ladies are. These ladies always bring the energy and how much fun is it to watch a band that is having this much fun? ⚡⚡⚡
Sorry I forgot something. Everyone knows Pau is a musical genius but it has to be mentioned that Ale may be the youngest but she is a baby faced assassin on bass. Make sure you see them live if you can because the days of seeing them in a small venue are going fast. The Warning will be filling stadiums soon. ⚡⚡⚡
Nice review Dane. In an interview during their “Mayday” tour, prior to the release of this song and the full “Error” album, Ale said this was one of her favourite songs to play. Given the pandemic related delays in releasing their music, Ale would have been about 15 when this was written. There’s also a little more to the “Drinking the Kool-Aid” reference. The term stems from the tragic event in Jonestown, Guyana in 1978, where almost 1000 cult followers, mostly American, died from drinking a poison-laced, flavoured drink. It was not in fact Kool-Aid, although it is forever linked to event. It was a similar product called “Flavor-Aid”.
Thank you. And thanks for providing that, I had no idea. This is one of the reasons I love reacting to this band, I learn so much more than what is presented in front of me. I'm here for it. Cheers. 🤘🏻⚡🤘🏻
No words for these girls. Last week in Chicago I finally got to see them. I did the whole nine yards. soundcheck, m&g, and front row at the show. I have seen over 400 shows in my 62 years and this was the best. Also check out their recent Toronto show. Dany was under the weather and Ale sang lead on 2 songs for the first time ever.
That is saying something. Especially with all the shows and bands you have seen. Glad you got to witness the entire show. I'll check that out, thank you. 🤘🏻⚡🤘🏻
They are the perfect combination of talent. Ale’s thunderous bass is the heart beat of every song while her energy never stops on stage. Pau’s energy and dynamic voice coupled with her explosive talent on drums and writing skills are second to none, then you add Dany who delivers every song with the passion that only she can drop on you as she captures you with her voice, presence, gestures and guitar. The three are so captivating with their talent, their presence and to top everything off with their looks!
The "Error" album was ready to record in December of 2019, but they were scheduled to start their first US tour in March of 2020 and they started in negotiations with Lava / Republic records, so plans to record the album weren't in the works for them yet. When the pandemic hit and they cancelled their US tour and finalized their contract with Lava / Republic in June, they immediately switched to recording the "Error" album, which they did in the fall of 2022 in New Jersey with producer David Bendeth. In January of 2021 they finished mixing the album but waited for the pandemic pass to release the album, which was in 2022. In between the time they finished recording and the pandemic restrictions were being lifted, they released songs and music videos as singles and then the "Mayday" EP. So, the music for "Error" is really 4 years old for TW and nearly 3 years since it was recorded. Dany was 20, Pau 18, and Ale 15 when they recorded the album and year or so younger when they composed the songs.
That's crazy. I have been catching bits and pieces of this information about this album. Regardless of the sequence of how we finally got it, it seemed to work out just fine in the long run! Love it. Cheers.
When Error was released, on a first listen to the new tracks (excluding the Mayday singles that trickled out) Kool Aid Kids was one that came across as an also ran for me. Every subsequent listen, and seeing them include the song in their live playlist via a few of the TWA fan vids, the song grew on me quickly to be one of my go to picks. Subtle heaviness because of the slower pace of the melody, Kool Aid Kids ranks highly for me from Error (none have topped my love for the epic Martirio).
Yeah Martirio is also at the top of that list for me as well!! Glad that this song resonates well with you though, It's great and the deep meaning is what makes this a shining star!! Cheers.
According to DPA. The *"Error"* album was written in 2019 (Dany was 19. Pau was 17 & Ale was 15). At the time since they were an independent band. They successfully engaged in a Kicksstarter Campaign to fund their first North American Tour 2020 (which was canceled covid) & studio time. The album was recorded winter of 2021. Lava released an 2021 EP (Mayday - 6 songs) from what was the 2022 *Error* LP.
Dane I'm wondering what your favorite Warning lyric is? "I'm not in danger. I'm the danger." "Wear your tears like jewelry." "If karma doesn't hit you then I will." There are too many others to list. Do you have a favorite?
"I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns" The way they can show the dichotomy of action and emotion in not just this, but several of they're songs, always gets me.
Revenant, Kool Aid Kids, More, and most other songs from The Warning are good examples of how the sisters always come up with fresh and powerful tunes. Their writing and execution is among the best of all groups from all times! 🤘🤨 Thx, Dane!
Yeah once I started understanding what the lyrics were, and how old they were and are now and to think they had that kind of intellect and music skill, makes them, as you said, one of the best groups of all time. Cheers. 🤘⚡Keep on Rockin'⚡🤘
Funny you should mention it, but during the second Ted Talks, the girls mentioned that a few people wanted in on what would become The Warning tidal wave and Dany spoke to how they wanted to change certain aspects of what they were, just to be "Sucessful". When asked if they would rather play to 50 or 5,000 people, Pau gave the most Rock and Roll answer:" We'd rather play to 50 people if it was our own music"
Yeah I love that. It says a ton when they refuse to fall down that managerial music industry path. They are not in it for fame or money, although a good benefit, this is one band that will never "sell out" or "drink the Kool aid" 🤘🏻
Well Dane, I've been following your channel for a couple of months now and I think it's safe to say you like The Warning. A lot lol. With good reason though, these young ladies are brilliant and so good live. I'm just getting into them after seeing your reactions to them and I love them. I love Dany's voice. Great reaction again... 🤘🤘
Thanks so much and I appreciate the support. But yes, I totally love The Warning 🤘🏻⚡🤘🏻. I'm just glad we were able to discover and continue to support them. I'm here for it. Cheers, More to come.
As always, it's a pleasure to share TW videos with you because your reactions are very entertaining and interesting. Thanks again and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
Dany has a habit of immersing herself into the song. This was REALLY evident in their Lunario performance of QOTMS. She completely channeled the role of the crazy, murderous queen with the facial expressions and the wild eyes!😱😄 Pau can channel some of it too, but not like Dany. Although Pau can be pretty scary at times, like one of their first public performances of Narcisista at Foro Didi!! She was like that pissed off latina GF that you NEVER want to cross!🤣
Drinking the kool-aid also refers to what we take in from news outlets, mainstream media, social media, and popular social ideologies. Gotta literally gulp it down every day so we drown. Love the opening lyrics: "There's a traitor in our midst, somebody's got a mind of their own."
You got right on this. Suffice to say, they are releasing their whole concert. This is perfect song for America and the cult it has, but they are not kids, they just lack discernment. Manipulate them with emotion and decision making with intellect goes away.
Great song with a real message like many other TW songs. Nice reaction! 🙂 I gathered this from other people's comments who said it better than I ever could and made some edits: This song is a veiled reference to the mass suicide in Guyana in 1978 where "drinking the Kool-Aid" became the phrase to mean falling for a false ideology. Another song in a series of similar The Warning subject songs such as "Z", "Disciple", and "XXI Century Blood". The "Kool-Aid kids" are a metaphor for people who blindly follow the rules set by those in power without questioning them. The lyrics describe a group of people who are willing to use violence to solve their problems and ignore the power of words and communication, highlighting the dangers of a mob mentality. Also that they are so willing to swallow propaganda without a thought and if you dare think for yourself, you are labeled a traitor. 🔥⚡
Todo en esta canción me gusta, la letra, el arreglo, el mood. Inclusive me gusta que me da por bailar con esta canción y tomarme un par de copas de vino.
Great reaction! Thank you.
Regards my friend...
I love the groove and the cadence of this song. It doesn't bother me a bit it isn't super heavy or fast-paced. My least favorite songs of The Warning are Dull Knives, Evolve, and Disciple (I can hear the hate from other fans as I write this), because they are a combination of heavy, fast, and with no real break where a listener is allowed to slow down and take a breath. Having said that, I love the Teatro Metropolitan live version of Disciple.
Totally ok and I respect your opinion. We each have our own tube that we like and we're not always going to like everything we hear. No matter who it's from! Cheers and thanks for sharing. ⚡🤘🏻⚡🤘🏻

Oh yeah, that's a great way of saying it. Agreed, when you actually listen, they are writing brilliantly. Beyond their years even. 🤘🏻
Perhaps not musically complicated, but such a catchy groove combined with killer lyrics. One of their more underrated songs. 😎👍
Not complicated? There's very few people who can play and sing that well live.

@@DaneBramageROCKS - Your welcome.
These sisters are overwhelmingly talented!!
Very dark deep lyrics. Awesome!
EPIC live performance!
Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
They are the best live! Viva The Warning! 🤘🏻⚡🤘🏻⚡
One of my favorite songs from Error and is often underrated or forgotten by many. The title track Error is the same in that way.
They have a few of these little gems don't they?! 🤘🏻
Error seems to fall into the shadows for some odd reason. Maybe it's lyrically hard to sink your teeth into. I don't know. I think it's great.
I think "Amour" too, isn't?!!
@@DaneBramageROCKS I think "Amour" too, isn't?!!

How about " We make buildings but what we need are bridges"?
I'll go with:
"Every word you say, it's like it's poetry
A work of art that's not for me at all"
"Your eyes meet mine and I implode
I guess I'll love you on my own"
That was me, on more than one occasion... Long, long ago, but still...
"I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns"
The way they can show the dichotomy of action and emotion in not just this, but several of they're songs, always gets me.
How can you choose? Every song, every line is t-shirt material.

Un tema de contenido muy interesante de The Warning un rock duro con un gran mensaje ,"KOOL AID KIDS"
Acordado. Aunque me gustan las cosas más pesadas, ¡el significado de la canción es lo que me hizo entender esta!
Drinking the kool-aid also refers to what we take in from news outlets, mainstream media, social media, and popular social ideologies. Gotta literally gulp it down every day so we drown. Love the opening lyrics: "There's a traitor in our midst, somebody's got a mind of their own."
I noticed a small line in Z as well!! Can not wait to hear that breakdown!
This is another example of their songs that are underrated and under appreciated because of the subject matter. They write songs with substance.
Truth. Can't wait for most everyone else to discover and catch up. They can only get better.
You got right on this. Suffice to say, they are releasing their whole concert. This is perfect song for America and the cult it has, but they are not kids, they just lack discernment. Manipulate them with emotion and decision making with intellect goes away.
Yeah one at a time they are releasing them! So, to clarify, I know they are not kids but that is just a term I use for younger adults. Lol.
@@DaneBramageROCKS The remark about not being kids are the followers of a certain person in the US is basically a cult. They drank the kool-aid.
