So obviously if you consistently even qualify to div 1 you are good player.

There's these esports trackmania guys. They just learn maps super fast, Wirtual has to make use of the 15 minutes and the 'slow div 1' in order to get times close enough to beat them. But as their race lines are so tight, a single mistake can throw them out. Wirtual is consistent, and he's probably top 100 of the world, but if he wasn't a streamer he couldn't do this as a job, which is what differentiates a pro.

Because there's a no brake effect block right before and since he's pressing backwards the whole map (technically braking), he can't accelerate anymore unless the the engine shuts off. Sounds weird, but quite clever use of the 2 blocks.

That's a common misconception, WR hunting is not something pros usually do. You need to be a good player ofc, but it's still a casual activity with nothing on the line. Pros are contracted to represent an organization in TM esport, so they train competitive maps for the next event. Wirtual is usually commentating there, so would be a tough sell to call himself a pro :P
