Last year there was a black guy that had what I think was called Porky’s outside the iron horse. I’ve never had collard greens before but I figured this dude being at Sturgis would do them right, and they were amazing. Super sweet guy and the rest of the food was good, too, but that was a proper introduction to collard greens. I’m definitely going to find that guy this time

I was like, holy cow that’s awesome! Can you make a sandwich out of that? Yep…and it was gooood. He had the standards for sides including the collard greens.

There is the little Mexican place on Lazelle and Sly St. It is called La Risa Mexican Cuisine. There is no indoor sitting but I though the food was good.

When coming from Mt. Rushmore down iron mountain rd headed to Custer there’s a place called the wolf bar on your left the best nachos that are served on a lunch tray it’s huge bring friends also 2 dollar beers! Boars nest is great good beef hot dogs there too!
In Deadwood, was that the Stockade or Stockyard restaurant??? And yeah that burrito food truck is awesome!!! One of my fav's is Red's Grill & Pub on Junction Ave. It's off the Interstate on the right heading to Lazelle St.
There's a sweeto burrito in Coeur d'Alene Idaho the prices are horrible the food is even worse.. I know they started in Sturgis and everybody swears by them in Sturgis but for the people passing through Coeur d'Alene Idaho on their way to Sturgis do not eat sweeto burrito and we call it sweato burrito but don't go there you will definitely regret it

Boar's Nest is on 14A/US 85 south of Lead....as if you were heading to Cheyenne Crossing (south end of Spearfish Canyon) or Newcastle, Wyo. Also on 14A / US 85 just as you get out of Lead is Lewie's Burger & Brew....great place, always crowded. Hill City..... In addition to The Alpine Inn, there's The Bumpin' Buffalo. The State Game Lodge in Custer State Park is great. The Firehouse in Rapid....Shooter's, in Rapid.... Delmonico Grill, in Rapid.....Tally's, in Rapid....Colonial House, in Rapid....all good. JR's Rhodehouse BBQ off I-90 & Peaceful Pines Road (north side) great BBQ. Uncle Louie's Diner in Spearfish....always good.
If you like the Alpine, they also own Flyt (in Cadillac Jacks) in Deadwood. Same great filets. One-Eye'd Jacks has a new owner and new menu. The burgers were good.

Always... ALWAYS share suggestions for good food. Yes, "It's cheap/expensive" is obligatory, but ALWAYS share the best places to eat! If you ever decide to stop off in Ft. Collins/Loveland, CO., and wanna take a ride up to Estes Park, CO. through the Big Thompson Canyon, hit me up. At the least, I'll give you the list of best places to eat, at best, I'm comin' with ya (any chance to ride the canyon)! Just stay away from Thunder Mountain Harley in Loveland. Cheers!
Exit 48, Summerset. Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Local Boy Scouts serve breakfast everyday of the Rally, all you can eat. Amazing and reasonable. Also, just up the road, exit 46, Piedmont, American Legion post 311 serves breakfast and suppers, real homemade meals, every day of the rally as well. Again amazing food and reasonable and you are supporting the Legion and our veterans!
Boars nest is good. The Knuckle has good food not during the rally? Not sure if it is during. The buffet at the Silverado in Deadwood is the cheapest crab leg/prime rib buffet any other time, again not sure during rally
Last year our group ate breakfast at the Powder House every morning and will be again this year. Food, service and prices were great, such a good starting point for the day and just up the hill from Kemp’s Kamp on Old Hill City Rd.
Excellent idea to take Cuban sandwiches to Sturgis, you would make an absolute killing… On my last trip to Maui Hawaii, I met a young Cuban girl from Miami, she moved there and opened a Cuban Coladas cart and sells coffee of course but also pastelitos and the works, all recipes from her grandma… She makes a super killing… Met her fiancé at the time and their baby daughter, he is a local and got bit by the Cuban 😀… They would make food for the neighborhood and bring the Cuban culture to them, beautiful deed… Sooo Cuban Coffee and food for Sturgis, Mrs. Monkey you would absolutely kill it! (I have her info if you want to get ideas).
Hill city cafe for breakfast at least once every year I go out.. black hills burger & bun co. in Custer is really really good and I had a burger at the eagle bar in deadwood that was killer as well.
Riding in from Chicago we always make the required stop at Wall Drug for a glass of water and a Buffalo Burger. If you head out to the Badlands it’s a must.

Powder House is awesome, agreed! We just got back from a trip and stayed there at the Lodge. We were lucky enough to get reservations on 2 nights while we were there for a week. Had the Prime Rib and the Ribeye steak. Hard to beat either of those. First time in the Black Hills for me.
You guys talking about wanting to take lobster to Sturgis reminded me of my buddy who takes a truck load of Iowa Sweet Corn on the Cob out to Sturgis every year, its so good!

Great info. The Burger Co. in. Custer is amazing. Also, Indian Tacos at Cheyenne Crossing. We stop there every year.

Spearfish out on the west end of town has a place called Farmhouse Bar & Bistro. Great sandwiches, great bar. Check the website out before you go.

We just got back yesterday. THE BOARS NEST IS A MUST........ we thought it was our favorite place in all of the black hills
Breakfast at Sturgis high was $12 last year but it's all you can eat or you can get a breakfast and a shower for $16
FLYT in Deadwood was a winner for us too. It's part of Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort (Casino, duh).

Can definitely relate. I live in the Indiana countryside and am surrounded by corn and soybean fields.
I normally stay out towards Custer and I always try to eat dinner at Bulging Elk on Main Street Custer while I’m out there.
