Update: Someone sent me about 100k hands from 200nl Zoom on Stars.com, and the reg-fish ratio was... 18:1! This is significantly worse than I thought. I assumed about 10:1 max. One thing to note is the player who sent me their database was not focusing very much on game selection. They were playing during the day a lot and not focusing very much on the pool composition, which can increase the ratio significantly. That being said, I think the pools are closer than I initially thought when I recorded this video. The reg-fish ratio is going to worse at Stars 200 Zoom, but the required bankroll and the swings will be much larger at Ignition 2knl. Another point I forgot to mention in the video is rakeback. The player who sent me their database says most players in the 200nl Zoom pool get about 30% rakeback. So the effective rake will be closer to 5 bb/100. Additionally, sites that offer stronger rakeback deals will typically have weaker regs, because you get more rakeback grinders who play a very ABC strategy. Thanks to the player who sent me the data. In conclusion, I'll just leave this here : www.mobiuspoker.com/blog/stop-playing-zoom 😉
I agree on most every point you have said. I haven't played 2k reg tables but I have played 500 reg tables and 200nl stars zoom and reg tables. Reg to Rec ratio & Rake are the most important factors but mental game at high stakes is difficult at least for me when i play 500 Reg tables which is 2.5x my usual stake. I would be lieing if i said that I was playing my best poker at higher stakes that I am used to so I can reasonably assume when you play 2k their will be a performance drop.
I'd like to calculate those metrics for my games. Do you use Hand2Note range research report to determine fish and regs? Not sure how to figure how many hands each defined player type has played in total.
What is it about someone like Linus that you think would allow him to potentially completely crush a lower stakes pool? Like is it just his ability to play very close to perfect theory, or would his extreme theoretical knowledge allow him to identify weaknesses and have perfect responses to capitalize on these? if you believe it would be the more exploitative reaction to the pool approach, could you give an example of how that caliber of player would do this? Thanks!
I just receive after months my social security number in America and I want to try ignition or similar American poker rooms, but it’s not clear how can I manage taxes. You can only deposit and withdraw with cripto as I see, and all of this business love in a grey area. I don’t want trouble with IRS, do you have some simple tips? Thank you
Just wanted to mention that you are probably using pretty strict fish definitions in H2N since the numbers you mentioned seem off for both pools. But if u are comparing the numbers relative to each pool it should still be fine. On the topic of reg aggression, I don't think you can realistically make a comparison between an anonymous pool and known pool, especially when Ignition is generally a lot more aggressive. Either way, the pools are quite close and if I had to pick I'd probably still take ignition 2k especially after it got isolated to US players only. The "tougher" regs are not as big of a problem in anonymous pools where u are getting lower rake and better fish ratio (not to mention much more volatile fish than zoom pools).
Im curious if I shouldn’t be playing on Ignition as much? I play microstakes as I’m only about a month into poker. I picked Bovada (then ignition but im pretty sure u play against the same players correct?) bc I couldn’t afford a HUD and I also felt like HUD stats would probably help my opponents more than it’d help me. Something Ive noticed is that it’s relatively soft, passive, and easy for me to beat on weekdays in the morning/afternoon/super late night in my timezone but friday-sun the player pool becomes _insanely_ aggressive. Especially when it comes to 3-betting and 3-betting pots but honestly in general. like weekdays u can fold out ur opponents in 60%ish of hands as the pfr just by cbetting. and another 10-20% by betting the turn. it’s also pretty hard to get paid off for value. that can be a bit boring but honestly i like that playerpool bc it’s a very low variance straightforward 30BB/100 for me. On the weekends though it feels like u need to be ready to commit ur stack if u want to see the turn. I _have_ beaten the weekend pool but I struggle adjusting bc the playstyle i need for both is so different. obviously I can just play on weekends but I’m wondering if there are actually better sites.
not sure. i thought huds on ignition were only for a specific session sense it is anonymous. just curious. ty. cheers and that you could not build a data set on people
How are you calculating reg to fish ratio on ignition? I guess what I am asking is what's the min hand number you are using to determine a fish or reg. While playing sometimes you can spot a fish before an orbit completes but I assume you are not going through every hand in a db chronologically.
5bb rake difference might make these 2 closer, definitely the endboss like EQ poker will only play NL2K, shitreg may play PS 200z, Rake is really important, I used to beat GG NL50, rake is 6-7bb with rakeback is around 5bb/hh, but I struggle to beat the 15bb/hh rake in PSMINJ for microstakes for weeks
So why make a video on this topic with 0 knowledge of 200nl zoom? You seem like a reasonable guy but this take is so weird. Even if you are right, being right on 0 evidence means nothing
also if this shit is so hard that people generally think 200NL zoom is basically unwinnable, why do regs focus on online so much when they could just play 2/5 live and crush?
Bro me and several other elite world class poker players stuck at 5NL. You don't know shit about the bad beats we take u couldn't beat 5nl . We just don't run in good mode like linues and crew

How you calculate reg to fish ratio? Which program u using? Best regards and tnx for answer.
Do we have numbers for 100z and 50z on stars? I am talking about reg-fish ration.
I just recently left 25nl-50nl on Stars. Way too tough. Someone let me know the reg-fish ratio there!
Best YT channel on the internet. You have a gift for teaching.
Thank you!

Do you know what the reg/rec ratio is at 1knl and 500nl on Ignition respectively?

Why do you say the rake is 7 bb/100 for ps? The same site you mentioned said it's 4.65 for ps or 4.81 bb/100 at nl 200 for ps europe.

I don't think min hand number is necessary if you have a large sample, but you could also use a min hand number of like 20 and it should be fine.
You could ask EQ poker
hahahaaha
I have played both and currently 500-2k on Iggy and 2k is tougher for sure
How would you rate 1k on Iggy compared to 2k?
@@kaivonhakimi1075 naturally 1k softer than 2k
@@Heyitsmax85 Whats your winrates at the 3 different stakes? And hand sample
@@Heyitsmax85 Im playing 500 and 1k atm
Never played on ignition or anything close to 2knl but what I've always heard is ignition is full of rich sports betting whales that spew like crazy

6-7bb rake on GG NL50?! Its twice this numbers. 👎
6bb rake :DD but every 50 hands
I could send you some z200 data

Some people dont actually care about winning at 200NLZ. They just want to battle and have fun.
you must be from US, otherwise you wouldn't ask

What’s harder? 50z or Ignition 200z
From my experience I think 50 is tougher but not by a gigantic margin
Both are soft if I can do what I've done in both. I basically suck
