Step 8 mentions "Let part of the outer layer cover the thread." Actually, this step is just to make sure the outer layer is across the fixing ring. If it affects the tightening of the nut, cut off the extra parts.
I bought this product from Amazon and I am a very handy person but found this difficult and almost impossible to install. I would not recommend it and I am returning it to Amazon. All the steps in the instructions are easy to do until you get to the last step where you screw the nut part onto the hose fitting end. With the material from the hose over the male end of the fitting it is impossible to screw the nut on because it will not fit over the hose material and the white compression fitting. I spent over any hour this morning trying to screw the nut on, even used some dish soap to help with lubrication. Crappy product in my opinion.
