- This is an honest review about Metin2... One of my favorite game.
I hope in the future they release Metin3 and it becomes the best game ever.

Metin2 is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) originally developed by Ymir Entertainment (now owned by Webzen Games) and originally released in Korea in 2004.
It has since been published in many European countries and in the United States by Gameforge 4D GmbH.

Official servers are just bad. Whenever I feel like I want to play, I just find a private server and play it for as long as I enjoy it. No need to spend money or take a full year to get a single skill to G1.
i was playing for 14 years in the Greek server.
I only witnessed 6 updates in 14 years.
That's it.
No events , no nothing.
the biggest problem starts when players sell items through facebook with the result that you don't see many objects in the shops
then there is the problem of the big players all playing the events that are the moon boxes resulting in the small levels not being able to get game money
they could change a lot in the game, but as you say, they like it the way it is
I completely agree with everything you said.
Metin2 is no longer what we used to play. It is no longer fun to play it, there's no one playing it right now... Hope in the future, the game comes around and it gets popular again!

The only way this game is gonna be popular again is if a completely new metin game is gonna be released, and it will only take the good stuff from the previous metin2. There should be no multiaccounting, more focus on cooperation between players, not fully p2w, etc... I doubt that some new game will be released. But I can see that the new game would bring back a lot of people.

the fighting mechanics are like no other thats why the game was so good , i never seen a other mmo game like it because of it

Hope MMORPG company got the decision and buy this game just to make it better. And when I said better I mean the real new Metin3 with the new game systems. 3 Developers only try to make new metin game called "Inferna" but they are only 3 the game don't get players bcs it needs so many job with questions, animations etc.

I used to love this game
i remember golden hera of metin 2007 to 2010 was good .... we had full servers back them and full guild!!! that was a good game i made a lot of friends. now is dead nobody plays

To my mind emerald not so bad,if u have 2acc on it u will have for free:30 day offline shop/6 welps/10 luck box/ and else stuff just for 12€, i think its not much,cause anyway u need offline shop cause eletric will coast more if u turn on ur pc 24/7
I understand ur point of view, but i still feel that its stupid to launch pay to play servers, when the main servers, like europe, are almost empty.

Europe server is dead from a lot of time. Try tiger ghost, polyhemos, aurora, romania, tara romaneasca and charpatians. All of these servers are full of players and you dont have spce to farm because 6 channels are not enought.
@@painjenu.metin2 wow i didnt know that! I tried tiger, but it isnt THAT full, but the others servers is kinda hard to play on bc i dont speak their language you know? So i can only play on english based servers. But ill definitely check those servers!
@@WestendeYT on all of these servers you will found romanians, poland and hungarian players and all of them know english of you want to sell something on chat everybody will understand
You are 100% right.The game is dead. They invest in things that do not benefit the players: They implement a lot of things that are not really useful to the players; While the important and urgent things which are asked by the community are simply abandoned by them.
Gameforge is based in Karlsruhe in Germany, the ceos went to our school and told us information about the jobs there. I was yelling and asking them so long why the fked up metin2 because with the right mindset it could be today bigger then WoW. But they refused so long until I got kicked out from class because they asked my teacher to kick me out... I think that said all.
Btw. also they said theyre only in the right to sell the game and change the structure. The whole assets and microtransacations are coming from korea... I dont really believe that because I know they have rights for the whole game. If you look the other games from them, you dont have to wonder why

It was good back into 2006 but can't compare L2 literally
Perfect video.... They try to fight bots with pay2play servers 😂😂 instead of buy an anticheat.... But we can play to private servers and fk gameforge
Plus 6€ a month is better spent in a Runescape subscription (if you take the yearly option it comes down to essentially that) and you get to play OSRS and RS3 on that same subscription....two far better games.
It had potential, i loved these korean style of the game. but it had a lot of problems... thats why people play private servers and only the ones play in original servers who already spend a good few paycheck in the game... the game addiction is real because it was damn good... but as the video said... they dont cared about the game... i remembered when they put the lycan in the game... WTF... for the sake of god... what the heck... devils grotto and devils catacomb was a good update they are feeled like these ones have place in the world of metin... but the new maps... bosses.... items... its not metin anymore... lets just play on private servers and enjoy while the metin community slowly dies out... like the muonline community few years ago... still there few servers... and can go back for some nostalgia but thats it.
Started in 2007 and played for a few years. But I always wondered how this game is still alive. Obviously they need money to make the servers run and to pay the employees. So who are the people who pay for this game ? Is the money really enough for gameforge to make this game still run ?
exactly!! ive always thought that! how does a game like this stay alive? but if we do the math, 5k players x (the minimun) 10€ = 50 000... this is probably wrong, but u get the idea. If they all put 10 euros, they get 50k.

I dont know what server are you playing but i play on Romania,i started playing 4 months ago and i think its fine,tons of shops,there are players at every level,multiple yang making methods. I started from scratch on a very old and evolved server and im still having fun so...maybe just personal experience or server dif . PS you showed steam player count i guess and absolutely nobody plays on steam...at least on my server there are people playing at every hour of the day and night. No hate in my message ,sorry for your bad experience. But compared to older metin when you couldnt just buy MD Vouchers,couldnt just farm on yourself tons of stuff,didnt receive the weapon every 10 levels and didnt have acces that easily to a mount that you can attack from,you didnt have events for exo,add,switch bonus....the game is just easier now,sorry.

While yes the base game is dying the private servers still have a respectable ammount of players

Broooo... U just unlocked so many memories! Metin2 was one of the best games out there! For me, my favorite mmorpg, but nowadays, its like you said, it feels like a different game, made only to get money from players.
these people that are saying the game is not dead are either coping hard or haven't played when the game was at its prime. what is left of it its a carcass.
Also, gameforge greediness knows no end. even on the pay2play servers, they still dont disable the item shop so its both pay2play and pay2win.
instead of focusing on Metin2, they launched this summer a cheap copy of roblox. Its nuts.

Heyy, thx for the suggestion and ive gotta say, I have already played on tigerghost and compared to 2010, its a big difference. We need to accept that metin2 is slowly dying

A lot of people don t know that Metin2 it's a very profitable game for Gameforge and for players to. What you see on the game it s just the top of the iceberg. Players are making a lot of money playing this game, selling items, accounts and yang on the blackmarket, for some of them, this game it s the main source of income. Metin2 it s not dead and it s not gonna be very soon. The game has a lot to offer for those who go beyond "there are few players" "it's not like the good old days" etc. Also, don t forget about the private servers where the comunity its HUGE. Metin2 it s dead only on the surface.

The game has always been a cheap cash grab gacha sim. It was a free-to-play game in an age where wow was incredibly popular. That's why they could attract players and nothing else. And you could simply not get anywhere without paying up. Once more feasible free-to-play games came out, and MMOs became less popular, it died - which has been maybe a decade at this point.
Gameplay wise, it is also horrendous. 5 abilities for the character? Seriously? An absolute joke. Meta builds have always been known and never changed. How could they? 2/5 abilities were often useless, while the cost of books for the main two, skyrocketed. The "builds", if we can even call it that, were blatantly obvious.
No real dungeons or instances. Random chances on the dumbest stuff, like upgrading gear or skills. Not even an auction house, because they didn't know how to program it LMAO. There are no quests, like there is nothing to do but grind mobs for hours. It is so bad, they included a farming bot in the game itself. THIS IS UNHEARD OF. And you can pay for a better version, HAHAHA. And wait, there actually were quests. Remember the fetch quests where you have to grind some needlessly rare materials for basically no reward? Trash.
The thing is... P Server are Bad too now. P servers today are afk Metin farm Simulator where u have to buy Item Shop Push for 2 accounts. Because every P server have this 2 account farm system which is the most stupid thing ever... So u has to pay 300 Euro for a fking P server to play .... and its even more P2w than Offical... Elverion the biggest server right now Wanna have money for fast switschbot...This game is dead. And P server are even worse
