played this for an arts camp i went to. had two friends leaving before the concert performance that i still talk to. this piece was actually how i met one of them after i gawked on about some music theory with another trombonist i was working with. really good people that i only saw in person for a week. real tragedy.
I remember this, this was the first year me and my band went to a band competition anywhere. ISSMA we got gold and the "Trills and Thrills" we got gold (Kentucky Kingdom.) I remember it was the second semester of my 8th grade year, the year we got our most recent, and my favorite band director. He led our band to get heights, and I remember, I played timpani that first year. Me and my band mates loved him. But due to complications with cancer and cancer treatments, and a lot of prayers, he chose to step down. We grew to love him more as a "grandfather" than a band director, and I can never thank him enough for what he brought to our small schools band program. Anyways this is good piece and very dandy ok byeee
Out of all the years I did school band, and all the songs I played in band camp, this is, and probably always will be my favorite. I got to play Timpani for this song. It was the most fun I’ve ever had playing music. Thank you, Michael Sweeney for making the song and thanks to my band director for choosing it.
God dang i lov this song so much i did amazing every body in my band did, my group low brass had a weird time at measure 69 but nor me soo my teacher asked if i wanted a solo and I'm like yes

i just suddenly remembered this just now. this was the first piece we played in eighth grade, in probably september or october of 2014. glad to find it still sounds just as cool as it did then :)
This was one of the pieces we were going to play in 8th grade for the summer concert, but Covid hit so we never had it. This piece was really good though.
We had to choose between this song and another song to play for the concert in band class. I was the only one that chose this song, but I really love it. Why do I always have to have the unpopular opinion?
Aaaa! I remember volunteering to play the trombone for this song for advanced band! (They only had 1 trombone player, so they borrowed a couple from intermediate). It was really fun
Im in Middle School rn and i'm doing a huge concert combined with high schoolers and Japanese Middle school students and i am so scared! My part on saxophone is very complicated 😖 i also have to do a song called 上を向いて歩こう (ue wo muite arukou) aka "sukiyaki" in English and "The great gate of keiv" 😭
I played this a couple years ago in 7th Grade. My favorite part was the trash cans. Greatest thing I think I've ever played. I mean I'm an alto sax, but this peice was amazing!
+PokemonisAwesome12345 Roman Mythology was based off of greek mythology. Hephaestus and Vulcan are very similar, they are both gods of fire and the forge. Hephaestus is Greek, Vulcan is Roman.
Liam Liu I know my school played the piece and I can tell you that the drums used are trashcans, snare drum, and a tom and a bass drum and a suspended cymbal for your information
I remember hearing one of the older bands playing this when I was just a first-year percussion student. It blew my little fourth-grade mind.
