This video actually made me a little emotional. I ran my first ever parkrun two weeks ago and finished at 22:48. Not too bad for a 55 year old who had only taken up running last year. The sense of community within the runners is something else. Everyone is there to run and be a part of the day. Never thought the simple act of running would be so life affirming. Lovely video Harry. Well done.
I moved from Essex to Ireland in lockdown so still waiting for it to return here. Currently scrolling UA-cam for my parkrun fix on a Saturday morning so really appreciate this content. I ran Southampton parkrun in 2019 when I was there for a stag do, lovely course.
Awesome Trevor, sorry to hear it isn't back for you yet. What an event it is. A parkrun and a stag do, can there be a better weekend. Thanks for watching Trevor Harry
Splendiferous and magnifico Harry. 🎯Did Barnstaple today in my green alien suit.👽 got lots of shout outs!. Volunteering next week. Doing my bit. Cheers Gazz and Rileyboy. 🍮
Hi Harry, I have enjoyed 2 weeks of Castle Park parkrun (near Stansted Airport) and it has been truly magical to be back. Thanks for making this film, it really captured `the return` perfectly and it was really well put together. You are a great storyteller. Darren
@@thisisjogon Enjoyed on second playing as well. We had 709 finishers on the Common this morning, 148 more than last week. I only mentioned this because you remarked on its remarkable length, but the finishers' funnel proved too short and a second lane was required. To keep us moving the marshals enjoin us to jog after passing the line: I think, in future, a team of wheelchair pushers may be required to get the more exhausted runners to the barcode collection point.
Great video Harry! I wasn’t able to take part in parkrun last week, as i was isolating ,but as i crossed the line this morning, it hit me how much i missed it. Keep up the great work!!
How beautiful is it that community is formed, and people are motivated to attend, by the urge to cheer on both complete strangers and close family alike
You absolutely smashed it!! Great time Harry 💪💪 I was back at my local parkrun - Raphael Park in Romford, Essex. Managed 23:31 4th lady, first in age group. Not my best time but was good to be back 😊😊
Another great video. Love parkrun and love volunteering, really enjoyed today's video especially the volunteer interviews. Today was my 50th parkrun (Southwick Country parkrun 22:34) and 23rd time volunteering (post-event close down). After such a long time it's fab to be parkrunning once again. Great running Harry, that last KM was lightning 🌩
Fabulous video Harry! I originally found your channel while searching for parkrun courses so this is perfect. I made my return to parkrun today and it was amazing 🧡
Certainly a great feeling to be back at parkrun. I must add Southampton on to my list for a bit of parkrun tourism. I've done several of the larger ones but not that one yet. Great video, as always and a quick time 👍
such a great final km and a great video on top. ukele band seems so hype haha and maybe if you had a bright orange buttonup shirt you could've joined that guy. did my first actual parkrun after starting running in lockdown one and just finished my second this morning. 25 minutes and 24 today, but still working back to my pb of 22:30 and then will try to surpass that. already thinking of trying to do the alphabet of parkruns in the future as well but plenty of time for that 😌
Thank you Oli - the ukele band was the real highlight; parkrun is just an excuse to get near to the band members. I wish you all the best with the 5K training - keep that 22:30 in your mind as you train, the relentless focus on something like that can really drive a person to do great things. Run strong, Harry
I certainly missed parkrun, while I can't go along to Southampton cause of finishing uni and moving away from the area, I still find it such an exciting event to look foward to each week. Even better I PB'd last week with a 22:08 from my old Southampton time of 22:43 which just made it all the better. Though I can imagine that new route is a tough one with the steep hill twice xD
A great time, sub 22 is right there for the taking. Yes, it was definitely a little tougher than expected going up that incline a second time, it's just surprisingly long All the best with your 5K's and I hope that sub 22 happens soon with quality training. Bring it on. Harry
@@thisisjogon yeah we started on the far right side. Was a bit of 'oh we off' at the start lol. But that Bellemoor hill x 2 is no joke. Hopefully catch you next time you in Southampton.
How do you keep up the talking and cheeriness when you’re basically doing a time trial?! I just want to die and hate the world when I’m pushing that much.
Amazing comment. What you don’t see yellowfolder is the gasping in between filming, I think a degree in theatre has also helped to mask the internal pain. All the best with your running and I really appreciate you watching
Fabulous video! The perfect way to celebrate the return of parkrun! 😊

How wonderful to have a record of last week. I was almost as emotional watching it as I was at the time.

Great! Good show Harry.
I'd say more, but it's time to lace up and head for the Common.
Enjoy David - understandable as I released this at 8am Saturday morning before the 2nd parkrun back

Nice, just ran 19:19 at Didcot!
Superb run well done
Bolt’s 200m WR as well, sort of
@@thisisjogon oh yeah!
@@thisisjogon you should try and get Ben Parkes to run with you maybe? Also, Didcot is quite a quick course that you might enjoy.

Thank you for watching

No way, we have the same birthday.

This was beautiful to watch and made me miss Parkrun even more. Does this mean that normal races are back in the UK?
Thank you Jackson, not all have returned, but many are back, some in a 'waves' format
An interesting video about running. Great job. 👍🏻😊
Thank you
I’m on my sub 20 attempts now. Ran a 20:31 a couple weeks ago, and am going to attempt to get under the barrier this coming weekend.

Crazy how fast you ran while holding a camera the whole time lol

Still no signs of park run coming back in my area of wales, which sucks as we have 2 :(

It's a Garmin 35 I believe Isaac
