I love that you guys keep working with her to finish what she starts! For example the orange juice, enforcing that she pours and fixes the lid and not giving up and doing it for her after it took awhile ❤️ shows that autism isn’t what defines her ability to do things!!
Tips for easier cooking: Using an air fryer and a double electric tabletop grill (panini style) - especially the air fryer or air fryer oven, could be so much easier to control than cooking on traditional stovetop and oven. Also microwave ofc is easier. Anything you can set for a certain time, then beeps and/or stops cooking after a certain time, and you don’t have to handle hot pans continuously.
My daughter Crysta is 25 years old, I’m a single mom to her, so breaks for me are very few and far between. She’s now starting to do little things, she folds her laundry and puts it away, when I prompt her. She has a tv in her room, she loves watching Aladdin the Disney movie., I do my best as a single mom with an Autistic daughter.
Y'all are doing great!! My daughter had therapy from a young age. She was adhd. We learned coping skills and we still do cooking with her because she tries, but does not measure ingredients. She's learning.
I find myself talking to her thru the video like you guys Hahaha! While she was seasoning the shrimp I kept saying “look at what you’re doing” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We do our kabobs all the same on each stick. Veggie ones, meat ones and then shrimp ones that way everything is cooked right. Everyone gets 1 of each to start.
Each child is different which means different parenting. I love your guys parenting. Keep up the great work. Thank you very much for sharing those special moments and how each day is different.
Love watching your videos. 1) I have learned so much. Not only re: autism but also how to handle life in general. And 2) I just like you guys ❤️ Thank you for being you! Keep smiling! 😁 😊 😀 🙃 🤪
You all were cracking me up with this video. Not sure if it was me over tired or you all were so funny. Abbie shaking the seasoning all over the place. 😅🤣🤣😂
My friend have a daughter with adhd and she tells me that tv helps here faling asleep 🤷🏻♀️ I was one of those that said tv before bed was bad,now I say "you do you" 👊🏼♥️ Lots of love from Norway
The only problem is that habit will be life long. I stayed over night with a friend who had to have the tv on. I like the room at least semi quiet but the light flashing and the ads that are louder...well, I didn't sleep and had a 200 mile drive in the morning. I say don't promote a habit that can bother other people. Maybe even a future spouse!!
If the title isn’t already taken, you could call the book parentisms. 😂 The falling asleep to heavy metal music reminded me of how my oldest fell asleep at a monster jam show when he was 4. His normal bedtime hit and he just curled up in his seat and conked out 😂.
Uncle Ben’s boil and bag rice would be a great thing for ab it’s 90 seconds in the microwave they have different flavors including Ford cheese broccoli and cheddar whole-grain long grain and wild and many many more also Bob Evans mac & cheese or Stouffer’s mac & cheese
You were talking about her falling to sleep with noise, perhaps she has the issue that many people have, her mind is racing and processing so many things at the end of the day, that the music helps her to shut her mind down? Perhaps the music/TV will actually help her with her sleep issues. I use bluetooth ear buds, and listen to podcasts. That gets me to sleep about 95% of the time.
I'm autistic... my doctor told my parents when I was 5 that I would never have any skills or talents... 27 years later... I can play over 30 musical instruments, I'm a qualified aromatherapist and love to help people through my aromatherapy oils and a qualified horticulturalist Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something or won't be able to do something.
I know those little munchkins as "timbits" and it blew my mind for a second that those weren't called timbits everywhere lol, Abbie cooking is awesome! way to go Ab!
When I was little we always called the rubber or now silicone spatulas "child cheaters" as there was not much left in the bowl to lick when Mom used one, which was often. I was an adult when I finally realized that the real name was actually a rubber spatula!!
Just like "timbits" is a trademark of Tim Hortons, the "munchkin" is a trademark of Dunkin donuts. Other coffee places will have different names for donut holes. Of course, some people will use the name brand for all it's alternatives, also.
@@jesussaves6625 haha I know it just sounds funny as someone from Canada whos used to timbits - it's like when someone calls a q-tip a cotton swab. I know it's a cotton swab but it sounds weird to call it that lol
Hi abbie and family, abbie is doing amazing job helping with cooking and its look delicious, hope y'all are having a wonderful tuesday and stay safe out there ❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗
Nothing wrong with watching a bit of TV in bed ! It actually makes some people fall asleep. I think she enjoys her bedroom more since the tv went up. 👍♥️👍
@@paigestillions2200 Thanks you ! You just proved my point. Some people can’t tolerate the blue light on their computers, and devices. Actually it’s a well proven scientific fact. And some people can watch tv and it sends them asleep. If blue light wasn’t real, they wouldn’t sell special glasses to help people combat the effects of blue light. They actually sell these glasses on Amazon. HOPE YOUR READING THIS COMMENT ACE, AND CILLA. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You guys know your girl, you know what it takes! You deal with some of the back seat drivers like Val does on Autistic Interpretation channel with her girl Jess. She's in her 30s & has lots of other issues than autism. You all amaze me with patience & handling so much!💕🙏💕
I notice dads does more for her even if he has asked her to do something. Mom helps her but she does it and mom just helps. But that is what little girls do to their daddies. Wrap them around their finger. For lunch sandwich wise a pbj
It always amazes me that people think they are entitled to give their opinions on situations they see a few minutes of edited content about. Every person is different. You know your child and those few minutes of edited content shows she is healthy and happy more often then not. So awesome job Asa and Priscilla!
Who watches Abby when she is in her room alone and you are outside? Do you have outdoor locks on her room? Or does she o to the bathroom during the night or still in diapers during sleep time? My son, who is 25, still wears diapers and inserts during the night. You are correct, no noise will keep my son awake when he is really exhausted.
Happy 2sday 2-22-22 I love y’all. Y’all are doing a awesome job teaching Abbie life skills. She probably learns more from being at home and y’all teaching life skills.
My 32 year old daughter has watched Muppet Christmas Carol every night going to bed since she was probably 4ish lol - she used to watch it on the family TV but I was slowly going insane watching it nonstop every day lol
great job girlie woot have you guys thought about hello fresh or one of those food meal kits that may help and there are so many those could be fun to help her learn all these awesome new skills
I taught my niece when she was 5 to make her own grilled cheese, toast 2 pieces of bread, put 2 pieces American cheese to cover bread slice bread, put In microwave for 10-15 seconds and there she has it a grilled cheese made easy, now she teaches her family how she does it because when she turned 8 they let her make at home, I got her a blender and she makes her own smoothies also.

If someone complains about your parenting they don't have to stick around. You both do fabulous you vpcan tell by how well she's doing.
I get what your saying but let's be fair its going come with showing your parenting online
They have no worries!!

"My neighbor the vegan." I just laughed out loud. I would definitely be pegged as a carnivore. 😂😂😂😂

Just remember when you write that book that one day you will also be old! Lol

great job girlie woot have you guys thought about hello fresh or one of those food meal kits that may help and there are so many those could be fun to help her learn all these awesome new skills
They have pouches and small cans of tuna and chicken that come with crackers, she could put it on bread, maybe add a little salt and instant sandwich.
I do the same thing in the toaster oven
Have you looked into the tovala oven for Abbie to use maybe? She would just have to scan the barcode and it supposedly does everything.💕
That combination of ‘fight me’ noises and cooking feels precarious 😂
I love her excitement with you teaching her with the shrimp 🍤
We just got a brand new Dunkin' Donuts it's only been open for about 3 weeks I got a dozen donuts the day they opened but haven't been bad because Donuts are on of my biggest weakness
