Hi friends, thanks for watching!! This was one of my favourite sections of the trip so far and I loved making this video. My expectations of Sudan were completely shattered upon arriving. The reality was so surprising, and that’s not even all of it! I have 3 more episodes coming from Sudan. 😌 Sadly, the state of the country changed just after we left and today, it is completely war torn. I’m grateful to have been able to witness it during peace and hope that it will be restored soon. Hopefully this video shows you a different side to Sudan that you might have known before. 🙏🏼🕊️ If you enjoy my work and would like to help me bring more stories to life, please consider supporting me on Patreon! I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of all the Sudanese people... We would be honored to to have you back again with us once the war is ended and thank you again for sharing our story with the world
Beautiful, life-affirming work, Flo! It seems so bizarre to me that you met Tim, someone also cycling across Africa at the same time. It’s great that you are meeting so many good people 🌍
What a great video! Loved every second and learned a lot. I can't believe the courage you've shown to trust that you will have enough food and water. And the skill and adaptability in speaking the local languages, storytelling, and building relationships is incredible. I love watching the journey. Thank you for sharing.
Drought is finally over been waiting for new vids lol!! Thanks for bringing us along your adventures, Flo and really enjoyed watching this. I'll be sharing this to my Sudanese friends and hope it brings comfort to them. Can't wait for the next episodes! ❤
WOW, another awesome video!! 😍 Your productions really are world class professional level. Congratulations! We can't wait to enjoy your next ride! Thanks for taking us all along. 😎✌👌
Love the video, and how many little scenes and parts you've added! What a magical place. Really sad that the country is now at war, these people deserve the world.
I recently came across one of your tiktok videos of cycling across Africa, and ever since I’m hooked to your channel love it. What a journey you guys been through, can’t wait to see more of your adventures. ❤
Wow, beautiful video. Thanks. I am from India and listening you speaking Hindi made my day. I learnt so much about Sudan today. Thank you. I hope one day you will come to India and do a cycling trip.
I was not expecting to hear anyone speak Hindi in Sudan either! So surprising haha. Thanks for watching! Would love to come to India and do a trip like this… maybe in a rickshaw? We’ll see!
It’s amazing how your videos are interesting and intriguing till the end!!! I usually don’t last more than 15 minutes for a video:) but it’s sooo beautiful how you portray the people and true core of these places❤❤
Thanks for sharing but it was too short ;-) cannot wait for the next one. It's good memories crossing Sudan. We have met a lot of welcoming people. Keep cycling Flo
Wow, amazing. You saw more than I did as a Sudanese. Unfortunately now Sudan is in war because of some stupid and corrupt party and individuals. Thanks for showing a better part of the Sudan and we pray for peace
I love your Passion and that resilience actually it is what life is all about. Stay safe much waiting for the next episode and hope the war in Sudan has not affected your movement
Hello flo, thanks for visiting my country!!!, it is sad you didn't see the beauty of the mountains and ports in the east and the oasis's in the west and of course the capital, but i appreciate your positive attitude and love of the local culture, بالتوفيق.
Discovered you from UA-cam,,, and I've watched all the videos the whole afternoon. And i already love youuuuu. I can't wait for more videos 💃💃💃💃💃💃 and for you to arrive in Kenya. ❤❤❤
This is so beautiful and life-affirming and makes me want to embark on another adventure of my own, which is the highest praise I can give. You’re so curious and inquisitive - but also show so much respect to the people you meet, which is why you end up having these cool interactions with gold hunters and find the good moonshine liquor! Also the woman at the end who waned to be filmed was so adorable, what a gorgeous soul.
I love the African continent but unfortunately, it is the most underrated continent. I am thrilled to watch African culture and landscape through your lens. Much love from Pakistan 🤗❤
Very nice editing, Nile river makes desert 🏜️ changes to Greenish 🍀💚, it like mother to African people I am very happy to follow and see all your videos. I wish after completing African cycling tour, You guys plan a cycling tour to another continent. Big love and support to you 💕❤🙂 from India 🇮🇳 👍
Araqi or arrack is basically pure ethyl alcohol made from potatoes or other vegetables or fruits. The flavor comes from what they use to make it. It’s like 95% alcohol content and can kick your ass. They call it Everclear or Moonshine in the US and Raki in Turkey. It’s pure alcohol.
This is sooo inspiring I’m amazed and so happy to have ran into your channel! I was wondering if it’s important to be multilingual to do the same thing. I’m super interested
Thank you! No, it's not essential but it helps to know a few words to connect with locals and have deeper connections. I always try to learn from them. If you watch my new video you'll see how I tried learning Nubian :)
Nice video, small correction women don’t build houses in Sudan traditionally except people of western Sudan as their culture is more west and Central African than Islamic or Arab culture which prevails in the north, east, and middle of the country, the people and families you met are from western Sudan hence the women building the houses.
I'm not sure it's someone else has commented on this, @FlorenceRyan, but are you aware that by publicly showing the faces and location of people who are engaging in a legally prohibited activity (in the country), you might be endangering them to being penalized? Please be cautious about this, unless you have certainty about the consequences, I would edit this, you're playing with real people's lives. It could bring damage even a long time after publishing the video. Otherwise the video is amazing and makes me want to visit Sudan again.

Out of curiosity where you guys able to take baths often?
1-2x a week? Depending on where. This video is 5 days long and we didn’t have any showers. I used baby wipes 😂
This is SO interesting to watch! Also, huge respect for taking time to explain how Russia steals gold from Sudan to fund its war in Ukraine.
Yes! very interesting to see this and then learn about it as I did more research.
