Zele, very well done video. I like your camera work, your descriptions…and your humor! I used that same trick of removing the rear shocks by removing the shaft nuts and letting the rear shocks come apart when removed. But I left the old upper shock mounts bolted in until after the rear shocks were removed. One thing though…you tightened your front upper control arm bolts and the bottom shock mount bolts when the suspension wasn’t loaded. You will end up with twisted bushings. Also, if you move your front swaybar links to the inner holes, you are making the front bar STIFFER, not SOFTER. You are shortening the lever arms on the bar by using the inner holes. Shorter lever arm = less leverage
Nice Video. This video gave me the confidence that I could tackle this on my own. I am not the most mechanically inclined but between this and the video from @FlywheelFilms I was able to follow step-by-step. I went with the less expensive Sportives for my 2016 NC and I I think I made a good choice for my needs. The difference is amazing. Thanks!
I run the clubsports and love them. Surprisingly compliant at their softest. Yes the car is firmer, but less crashy and harsh with it. They feel surprisingly sophisticated for the money!
Thank you, I am glad it was helpful! When I first installed them I had it set very soft, 24 front and 26 rear. The shocks do break in quite a bit in the first 500-1000 miles. Mine are well broken in now and I am running 18 front, 20 rear for daily driving. It is quite comfortable at those settings.
Great video but don't trust the factory preload!!! I guess if it feels oK it probably is but worth checking. have a eyeball of/search the "wheels in motion" forum from the UK to see why. Thanks for your videos from the UK. peace and love.
I understand there are some builds of these that had the preload set incorrectly, however, at the time I purchased mine this wasn't really an issue and mine were set correctly.
As you move the end link inward on the sway bar, it stiffens the bar. If you are trying to use "more of the benefit of the coilover" (@ 7:00 mark), you want to be using the more outward sway bar connection. It appears as if you might have this backwards.
Thanks for the tip of removing the rear top nut to easily drop out the old struts, I took my rears out today and plan to tackle the fronts tomorrow. What spacing did you end up going with compared to how they came out of the box?
@@MiataChannel thank you, I threw them on out of the box, looked low obviously. Then I went to drive up my ramps to torque the end links and discovered I was too low to even do that. Gonna adjust them tomorrow to find the happy spot.
@Woobi3 If you want to see what it sits like at my height, check out the beginning of my test drive video on the ZetaCRDs. There is a good sideshot towards the beginning. They have been perfect since they were broken in.
Yeah, as I mentioned in the video, I had the people doing the alignment loosen them and re-tighten them when I took it in. I lack the equipment and space to be able to do that in my garage.
Does these coil overs make your car smoother and help eliminate the harshness of rough roads? I have an 08’ and trying to make it a comfortable and smoother daily driver. TIA!
It takes a few hundred miles to break them in, but after that, they are wonderful. My car rides smoother than it did stock. These coilovers are perfect for daily driving. I also took a long road trip with them, and they were fabulous . Best mod I have done.
@@MiataChanneldon’t worry about it, installed and dialed mine in last weekend. But if you’re keeping score of how many people this video helped, count me as +1 - THANK YOU!
It's not something I can add here easily, but I have them routed so just the knob on the end sticks out from under the trim inside the trunk. Its held there by the top edge of the trim
Awesome! I just added some new items, too! And yes, my store does accept most major credit cards. You can find the store here: miata-channel-shop.fourthwall.com

I considered going that route, but I do occasionally take my car to the track so I wanted the extra flexibility.
Awesome video! Just picked up my NC2 the other week! Looking forward to doing the same setup!
Nice! I am quite happy with them, very nice improvement in both ride and handling. Well worth the price!
I hope you get yourself a cordless 3/8 variable speed ratchet. So nice after bolts are broke free and again to initially tighten.
Yeah, I need to.. currently, my budget is pretty strained, tho. Maybe Santa will bring me something.
Thanks Zeke! Excellent (detailed) video!
Once again another great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video. I am going to replace my this weekend.
Nice video, I have these coil overs on my 07 PRHT, and they are sweet.
Thank you. Great information and help.
No worries.. Glad it was helpful!
really good video thanks so much for this
Could you tell any difference with the sound tube out? Looking forward to hearing how you like the new coil overs.👍
I don't really notice a difference, honestly. My car has a complete aftermarket exhaust, and even though its not loud, I get plenty of sound from it.
Great video! Helped me so much installing CRDs on my '07 last weekend. How many clicks from full stiff are you running front and rear?

Yeah, I have changed it all around since the last video... softened the front, made the rear stiffer. Car feels a lot more balanced now.
Thanks for the tip of removing the rear top nut to easily drop out the old struts, I took my rears out today and plan to tackle the fronts tomorrow. What spacing did you end up going with compared to how they came out of the box?
13.25" front, 13.5" rear. It was about 1-1.2" higher than the stock settings. I daily my Miata and seems to be about perfect. No issues with scraping.
@@MiataChannel thank you, I threw them on out of the box, looked low obviously. Then I went to drive up my ramps to torque the end links and discovered I was too low to even do that. Gonna adjust them tomorrow to find the happy spot.

You MUST raise the hubs to their loaded height before tightening the upper wishbone bush bolts - otherwise you twist and pre-load the bushes.

Any way you can share the thread distance you settled with on the fronts & rears?
Possible but not very soon. I will be traveling for a while.

Do you have a link where you purchased the sets? pl ty
I bought mine from Goodwin Racing. www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-2502.html
You shouldnt torque bolts that have bushings when car is not under load.
Why is that
Great video, right up until you don’t show the final ride height, stance!
...because that's in the next video with the road test and review. You need to break them in a little before setting the ride height.
@@MiataChannellook forward to it
