Completely different level of emotional/relational stakes involved. You may as well have said "I'm sure her retired cop father told her plenty of stories of food he ate" for all the relevancy the former has to the latter

I don't care if they think they're "magic", this is *not* going to last. We know for a fact that Tim wanted to have kids, and - once again - he shouldn't have to change who he is to suit Ashley.
I felt that her saying she wasn't sure if she wanted kids, was to show us that they're not going to last.

It has to be slow, because they didn't want the creepy dynamic of superior and lower ranked cop. It's a power dynamic and they didn't want it. So they waited until Lucy was a good, full-fledged cop and had her own career before anything.
So it turns out to be another Chenford moment after all)))

I tuned in a bit late last night and had to catch the beginning today. Knowing this scene before seeing what Lucy tells Tim about getting the nails done is way funnier than knowing what she said and seeing his reaction here.

They're "magic" together now? Lol this is like her 3rd appearance. She's barely mentioned. The whole no marriage, no kids thing ever clearly threw him and he didn't look happy. He talked about wanting all of that with his ex-wife. At least this shows Ashley probably won't be around much longer. Hopefully 🙏
Lucy was so flustered. She obviously has feelings for Tim and was pushing marriage at him all day and as a way to mask her crush. She's keeping Chris around because she doesn't know what else to do. I totally thought she would impulsively want to meet the parents before receiving the "gotcha," text.

Unless they hide from everyone that they are a couple, but they will not receive it in secret for so long, everyone can guess that there is something wrong between them. At the beginning I knew how they announced that it would be a prank because Tim is not as in love as with Lucy. And it shows how he talks to her and smiles and shows his real, and with Aschley, it's just not to think and not to show that I feel something for Lucy. But I wonder if Angela didn't notice it sometimes while she was talking to them

If you did watched the last episode of this season, you could have seen that something, clearly, it's gonna happen. They have a great chemistry and storyline around them is brilliant written. They are my two favorite characters in this show.

I saw Tim's face also. His eyes was one of conceit. Tim's pride was hurt. He knows he's a great looking guy and the thought of her not wanting kids for him nor marry him, is what was there. His eyes shifting to Lucy and knowing he was gonna make Lucy jealous help give him away. If Tim loved Ashley, he would have hugged or kissed or both, when he saw her. His first concern was I hope this girl doesn't think I want to marry her.
She said something here I was surprised that Tim didn't react too. He wants a family his ready. And here she said she does not want too get married or have kids. I thing that will be the reason they break up. Hopefully next week episode.

Oh, but he did react! It was subtle and non verbal. But he reacted. He just couldn’t say something about it right then and there. But bc he has this new Ashley info now, I don’t see it lasting at all.
That may make him hesitant, but it's certainly no reason to spoil a fun trip to Hawaii that's sure to be loaded with romantic interludes.

That was payback for the Jedi mind trick Chen played on Bradford earlier by implying that getting a manicure before a vacation is an expectation of a "destination proposal".

And this was the reason. IF the writers want them as friends and Bishop said this and that and can't be, because it would be hypocritcal- why that scene? Why showing Lucy hurt about this? When Tim decides, which makes sense, to not "cross that line" (because he would hurt lucy's career) and his reaction after their kiss was just "confusion", you can clearly see here and in the car when Tim said he can imagine to marry ashley , that Lucy has feelings for him. So if writers want them as platonic friends, why go that way? But tbh I also read that the firefighter girlfriend that I don't even remember the name of is a "fan favorite" - exuse me what? THIS is a big part some people still watch the show, because they are so fun to watch together.

Isn't Lucy into feng shui and traditional Chinese...err, stuff? Not being racist, I just remember her using aromatherapy and mentioning related things in a few episodes. But if she is, and she uses some of those, plus Lopez...Tim's a dead man walking.

Observation made. Lucy we all can see that you have put on weight. We all have since Covid. U have curves girl. We love them. Tell that stylist to burn those pants. U can dress modest and be appealing and attractive. Not saying u are not attractive. U are! Just let us fans see that you are confortable and confident in your attire. Sometimes it doesnt appear so and some outfits dont compliment your body type. Just putting this out here. Comment not meant to offend. Your stylist needs to step up his/ her game.

I couldn't agree more! Her stylist needs to do an overhaul. She can wear comfortable, conservative, stylish outfits that don't make her disappear. She is completely lost in her wardrobe this season and I hate it.
Agree!!! I can't look at the short jacket, cropped trousers or flare pants anymore. And the boots!!!!!! Always boots even in the gorgeous dress...She has so much more choices, her wardrobe is the same through the season.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the whole plot in Season 5. The "impossible" relationship that's going to be frustrating for all of us until they become a thing and need to figure it out how to make it all work.
