Good morning. Remembering that the State of Rio Grande do Sul recently suffered the greatest tragedy in its history - the great floods that devastated several regions of this State.
@@nordicinvestorExpointer shows that the people of Rio Grande do Sul, the Gauchos, have great virtue and their ability to fight against adversity does not make them give up fighting. The place was submerged for more than 2 months, this year we had no urban train, roads were damaged by the flood and many other problems due to the catastrophic rains.
@@nordicinvestor For eletronics, it's like you said, they're occasional buys, so we'd just go to Paraguay for cheaper things as they follow US prices quite exactly and it's cheap to go there. Cars, in most relevant cities, even like Joinville and Blumenau, they're totally optional with cheap uber, but that's still not that expensive and you buy here and there. Shoes and clothing are not very expensive though. I lived in Joinville and I'm impressed that Blumenau delivers better, more spacious housing for the same pricing. In Joinville, I used to pay about 300 USD for a simple kitnet, crazy!

Expointer is VERY traditional here. The first time I went there was at the eighties. You must have to be prepared to face the traffic jam (Yep... It's a very old issue). Never go there at the opening day... or at the last day. It will be worse. As somebody already written around here, the severe floods that happened this year affected the Rio Grande do Sul, and also reflected a little bit around the fair. About the cars, the agro-producers have a 50% discount on buying pickups, so the fair is a big deal for the major brands. Have you tried the "churrasco"? (If you're not vegan, it's a must)
I'm from Rio Grande do Sul too. My great grandmother came from Norway with 6 years old, her mother was swedish and her father, norwegian, as my relatives discovered searching her family tree.
Expointer is the bigger one. Each city, at the list on the countryside, have their one "agro expos". Even mine, with just 30k inhabitants, has an exposition of this kind, two years each.
@@nordicinvestor Mas e o que é a mulherada nessa Expointer? Cada uma mais linda que a outra. - But what about the women at Expointer? Each one more beautiful than the other.

I think this was the first time it was held at the end of August. Traditionally it was held closer to the 20th September Farroupilha Revolution holiday, but it became too rainy at the time in the past decade.
Great video. Its interesting here in Brasil most fairs have a bit everything, even out of fair theme, hehe. A suggestion for next days is the acampamento farroupilha in Porto Alegre, from 7 to 20 september. I find it too crowded and loud music but I would like see your review. Thanks for share
A feira se chama EXPOINTER. Ou seja : feira de exposição internacional. E não agrointer. Por isso tem de tudo. Não é uma feira agropecuária somente. Tem Stands do Uruguai, Argentina vendendo seus produtos.
Thank you for another interesting video from my favorite part of Brazil 👍Have you ever visited or heard of the Confederate party festival in Santa Barbara d Oeste Sao Paolo ? I believe it's held in April and is a festival to commemorate and honor the old south of the United States 🇺🇸

It wasn't that difficult to get a driver's license. I just had to show my Swedish driving license, do a medical exam and a theory test in order to get it. I did not have to do the practical driving exam.
The traffic problem is an epidemic thing in most of brazilian cities. Since you're from Sweden, probabily you didnt suffered much from our winter, i think hahaha. At least the sun was up these days. Last time i got into this fair was more than 20 years ago, i was just a kid.
I was shocked by the traffic jam at Expointer. I nearly gave up and drove home. I read in the newspaper that many people have complained about this. With regard to the winters, I have no problem with the cold outside but I have still not got used to brazilian houses being cold on the inside. I might do a video about this soon.
@@arnaldovillela4815 hoje as duas sao praticamente a mesma coisa, ja fui nas duas e são os mesmos expositores basicamente, a unica diferença como falei é que na expodireto não tem os animais
The Expodireto in Não Me Toque, RS is a fair focused on agricultural machinery and implements, as well as seeds for various crops. The location where the fair takes place is very wooded with a large lake, and the surrounding area is surrounded by large plantations that provide a beautiful view. It is well worth a visit. I visited it last year and I have a video of the fair on my channel.
just a thing, BYD is trying really hard to get in the brazilian market, but people that buy their cars can't re-sell, not very popular, i only heard people complaining about it, people dont trust mutch in chinese brands here
Yes I did but I still don't like it. I think it might be one of those things that if you start drinking it when you are young you will like it but if you start as an adult its difficult to appreciate it
I was expecting to find just agricultural things at the fair (tractors, machinery , livestock etc) and not things like beds, electrical cars, container homes etc. But I still really liked the fair
@@nordicinvestor This types of fairs used to be like that, with only farming stuff, but as the size and popularity of it begun to grow, the need of more sponsorship also grew, then other types of stuff started to be exposed as well.
You are very wrong, there is a large part dedicated to family farming and the production of organic products, where native seed exchanges are practiced between producers and the sale of their products. The fair has space for everyone.
The army thing is just a sad thing. This is still a result of Marshall Plan to control Americas. So, they aligned with the farmers and army's forces. So we today see the results in politics as bancada da bala and bancada do Agro, that are always very aligned with american neo liberalism

Wow, that's a really cool fair. I have never heard of this fair before though.
I really enjoyed it, apart from the parking issues!
Thanks for showing my country to the world! I'm now in Belo Horizonte, but loved living in BC and Floripa, cheers mate!
