HOW TO MAKE BEEF TURNOVERS (GHANA MEAT PIE)

500g of soft flour
1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of nutmeg
a large pinch of salt
250g of margarine (you can add extra)
90ml of full cream milk or use 1small egg+ 50ml of water
For eggwash
I use milk and egg
You can use egg yolk + 1tsp of water or just egg
Bake between 30 to 40 mins depending on the size at 180°C.

So do u apply the egg wash to it before putting it in the freezer or you do so after you take them out of the freezer before you bake

How do u freeze the pie crust .?? Did u cover the pie or just out it straight without covering it into the freezer. Whats the right temperature to bake pie just as we do to cakes eg 170 or 180 degree Celsius.
To chill the crust, cover it in a cling film and put it in the fridge or freezer. Bake at 180°C in a preheated oven.

No I don’t, I just egg-wash and bake right away, increase the baking time.

40g. If your egg is 50g, then reduce the water to 40ml

It depends on the cutter. My small cuter gives me 30pieces and the big cutter gives me 20pieces

Straight from the oven put your pastry in the oven for about five minutes then bring them out and then you egg wash them.

No please. Two things can make turnovers tough. Kneading the dough too much and over baking.
@elsys_perfect_treats Okay thanks so much dear I think it's over baking because I lower my fire just to prevent it from burning so I end up getting a dry and tough pie.
