....if you are thinking this is a little strange - I missed the first bit of the show, which had George in the studio having a one minute interview because ' they'd ran out of time''....so they said goodnight and George went to the pub. THEN, the producer says that they'd made a mistake and there was 15 minutes left - so ' go and find George'....so the film crew and Jonathon Ross run down the street after him....! Silly - but fun !
I know, I miss his new songs. His new albums. Loved him with The Beatles and Loved "*ALL THINGS MUST PASS*" when that came out in 1970! George ruled the radio back in the day! There will never be another George! You know he's still making new songs in Heaven! God Bless him, his wife Olivia and his son Dhani ✝⛪ May they find comfort with one another until they are reunited with there Husband & Father! 🤗
Glad to hear George Harrison standing up for his friend Bob Dylan when his mate sitting next to him criticized Dylan. He would go on to form the Traveling Wilburys the following year, 1988, which included Dylan, so he meant what he said that some people might not care for him but I think Dylan is brilliant. Harrison had long recognized Dylan as the greatest lyricist of this century.
Interviewer: "What was it like working with Madonna?" George: "Oh I don't know...I think she thinks she's famous....she really doesn't have a sense of humor." Hah! George is hilarious.
George would know. I guess next to George, Madonna doesn't have any talent. She has an OK voice. But, I have to say, compared to the singers today Madonna is excellent. Today they all sound the same! Even in Country music, All the guys sound alike and all the girls. And on top of it, the songs are horrible. All I listen to is _60's, 70's and _*_B E A T L E S_*_ Yeh!_ 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️
@@garychambers5850 i recommend you Weyes Blood's latest record Titanic Rising. Doesn't sound like anything else at the moment - very strong 70s influence with modern, cinematic twist. And what a voice!
@@garychambers5850 The whole sentence about Madonna, as George Harrison tells in in that silly interview: the problem was Madonna having not sense of humor and IT WAS A COMEDY FILM.
I love George. Watching many of his interviews, he is a down to earth no BS guy, with a quick wit like no other. While there are many, one of my favorites was his quip about Clapton and Patti: "Eric and I are husbands in law" - brilliant!
george was very at ease ...good interview...he was really in a good place during this time with the success of his cloud nine album , his willbury albums and his film company...then it all crashed down for him...his business partner swindled him of millions, orbison died, he got cancer....he was in a bad way as a result...the anthology got him out of financial ruin at that time...then he gets attacked knifed 40 times in his own home...and then the cancer took him out...RIP
Yes he had some dark times, but not all at once and not quite as quick or as dark as this comment would have it! From 'Cloud Nine' to his death covers a period of around 14 years. While the financial aspect is what persuaded George to get on board with the 'Anthology' project, he wasn't anywhere near as 'broke' as certain reports would have you believe. George COULD have made a few more albums, and COULD have gone on the road a few times as there was nothing stopping him - He just chose not to!
The interviewer talks really fast and it's hard for me to make out what he's saying. Though I can kind of understand, since he ran there and also if I had the chance to talk to George I'd probably be talking at 500 mph out of nerves. I like the contrast it makes with George's way of speaking, though. Always easy and fairly relaxed. He never seems in a particular hurry to say anything and that makes his voice really pleasant to listen to.
i don't think there was any hate, but for sure her constant presence in the studio was an irritating thing for the rest three of them, what seems very normal to me. Never understood why John was doing this.
George: Where’s the band then? Maybe we could do a skiffle number. Interviewer: Just keeps blathering on... blah, blah, blah, completely blowing a mind blowing opportunity.
JOHNATHAN ROSS ~ "What was Madonna really like"? GEORGE HARRISON ~ "I don't know, she's just sort of this girl who thinks she's famous." JOHNATHAN ROSS ~ "But, she is pretty famous." GEORGE HARRISON ~ "I suppose she is, yeah." But you know, she didn't have much of a sense of humor which wasn't much fun really because it [Shanghai Surprise] was a comedy film." I could listen to the late George Harrison for hours because he spoke the unvarnished truth. We Love You George and dearly miss you!
George was right it was the trousers. He could have been the fifth Rutle, just missed out, guess it wasn't meant to be. George had a great sense of humour, and obviously believed that was a really important thing to possess. Good to watch.
amandajstar Madonna was apparently a Diva on the set of "Shanghai Surprise" which was a Handmade production. He called her behavior out in the press and compared it to how The Beatles acted like regular people and were never full of themselves like Madonna.
I think she also highlighted the stupidity of fame, (and remember this time, she was absolutely massive), and he was taking the mick out of that too. She was an amazing force and it was such an exciting time then, it was good to be alive, entertainment wise anyway.
I would think with good reason that George won't remember too much detail about being a Beatle It was quite some time ago, he was rushed from one room to the next. He wouldn't know if he was famous unless somebody told him back then (hysteria) it's a good thing he became a legend.
At first I didn't know who that was lol I was like that guy sounds familiar lol OH it's Jonathan Ross lol Oh lol Even then he was showing his skills as an interviewer.
Almost certain his comment about getting "the wrong director, the wrong producer, and the wrong actors!" is a reference subtly to The Producers. I read he could quote that film by heart. I was almost waiting there for someone to say "where did we go right?".
Look at the fans looking in the window at the back! haha Shoot George could carry an interview by himself he never needed someone to interview him really. Haha the part about someone always wanting to join the Beatles, I'm pretty sure I know who he was talking about.
...I wondered which pub in London it was - maybe there's a plaque on the wall there now ! This interviewer missed out on having George playing the guitar and singing on his show, because when the guitar is revealed George says maybe we can do a skiffle number - then the interviewer changes the subject. The moron is best known for upsetting old Manuel / Andrew Sachs, after discovering that Russell Brand who he was interviewing used to be a boyfriend of Andrew's grandaughter, he decided to phone him to tell him and leave an obscene message on his answerphone.
I tried looking it up to see if I could find out but no mention of the name of the pub...darn it. But great footage you have here I really enjoyed it. I love anything George Harrison. Yeah probably by now there's a plaque or something and YES Ross totally screwed up with the guitar skiffle...totally missed out on a treat as George hardly ever did those little solos during an interview.
...I was wondering too , I spent 3 days in swinging London for my 50th birthday and stayed at the President Hotel near Russell Square...which is where The Beatles stayed for a few weeks in early 1963. I'll ask the BBFC if they know which pub it is , unless YOU join the group on facebook ? {...it's the British Beatles Fan Club, based in London}
...hello again - I've JUST had a reply from the BBFC , and it was the King's Arms in Wandsworth , London - who have a Facebook page . The little squared windows look the same , so I've sent a message asking them , and I've sent this video too !
I love you wherever you are George Harrison

Just like any Monty python film... George loved comedy..😂🤣
George ever most the grounded and humble musician and Beatle
George was great! What a cool guy...
George.
Good to see George was a dark ale drinker ;-)
His Iriish roots

I can tell Madonna was miserable to work with not just based on what Georgie said just from other celebrities
I love George ❤and more when he laughs❤
Imagine being in a pub having a casual drink & George Harrison walks in & orders a pint 🤯
Imagine being George Harrison having a quiet pint with John Peel and some cockney wanker walks in with a camera crew.
Always loved how no bullshit George was. Loved his cutting opinion on Madonna. Summed her up then and still sums her up now.
Love George Harrison .. he's so cool & polite .. RIP

there's really nothing about his feeling, you know... you just tells outer facts, but there's always the inner light :-)
You're cheerful
I hope that your life be the same.

Love u George. Miss u so much.
Great interview and Johnny boy lives about 5 doors down from my best pal! He has a vintage car parked in the drive lol!
This was one month before I was born lol. Wish I could have met George, chill, drink beers and talk about life.

George didn’t know, when he did interviews, his fans would be watching him years after his death.
Good ol George still havin a dig at yoko.. Must've hated her
i don't think there was any hate, but for sure her constant presence in the studio was an irritating thing for the rest three of them, what seems very normal to me.
Never understood why John was doing this.
No. He invited her over to Friar Park on one occasion. There was no hate.
inner light she is a witch who brainwashed John with drugs and sex. Im not jk
Love Him!
Dreamy Man!!
God Bless 💗🙏
George Harrison, siempre pienso en ti, nunca te olvido. 🌹
George!!
One of the coolest men ever
George looks really intelegent
irony here. lol
Im a simple girl I see George Harrison I click

Ha ha, I love that __ two groups: The Beatles and The Beatles Wives!

John Peel there, great dj in his time. Championed a lot of bands.
We had two bands - the Beatles and the Beatles wives.
George is a little buzzed from drinking. Still charming
George was right it was the trousers. He could have been the fifth Rutle, just missed out, guess it wasn't meant to be.
George had a great sense of humour, and obviously believed that was a really important thing to possess. Good to watch.
It's the tea and biscuits that ruined him!
Love this
That microphone is incredible, just saying. Picking up all George and the other guy say. Crystal clear.
So George didn't like Madonna: good for you, mate. But he said it only when asked, and was 'without rancour' or nastiness. I like that, too.
amandajstar Madonna was apparently a Diva on the set of "Shanghai Surprise" which was a Handmade production. He called her behavior out in the press and compared it to how The Beatles acted like regular people and were never full of themselves like Madonna.

Nice to see George enjoying a few and not so tight and flinty like he is in most interviews.

Always the 🙏 ❤

I thank you George.
the band was quite good,,
That little drum kit sounds great!
Lmao !!! Gotta be the best comment :D

George Harrison (Liverpool, 25 de febrero de 1943-Los Ángeles, 29 de noviembre de 2001).
80 años
58 años
22 años.
Anyone else get the feeling that your watching an outtake of A Hard Days Night?
Ran all that way to ask the same old teen magazine tier questions

They wouldn't have a plaque on the wall just cos George had a drink / interview there! Maybe if he'd lived there.
That microphone must have a long extension chord!
Okay so does anyone know what George is drinking ?
Coffee with some LSD maybe.....just joking😂
Maybe a half pint of Guinness or it could be a porter?
Looks like Johnathan Ross is drinking sherry
Brown Ale?
Didn't realize it was Jonathan Ross until a close up of his face. He doesn't even sound like he does now.
It's strange to see him that young. Oh, he was also running and out of breath. I think that's why I said he sounded different heheh.
It took me a while to figure out who the interviewer was
Without George Martin the Beatles wouldn't of been shit ! Period !!!
Jonathan Ross is gorgeous!
Which pub is it?
still no takers?

George.
this interviewers shtick is godawful. who is this clown?
Flerg3 Uhhh, he played lead guitar for the Beatles, youngster.
Aero Angel wow I didn’t even recognize him!
He is Tony Iommi with better jokes!
George brilliant guy, woss is a nob
Johnathan Ross
Terrible interview. Can’t make it past the first minute
