How fitting Shirou forgot Sakura was there. When going through the visual novel, at times I flat out forgot that Sakura even existed. Shirou is an emotionally scarred kid with survivor's guilt chasing an insane dream. Rin is a homicidal alpha bitch who oddly still has standards. Somehow they are made for each other.

To be fair, everyone in this anime/VN is also attracted to Rin. Except maybe Issei since he thinks Rin is the devil after whatever she did to him in middle school (and even then he's a monk in training so he could be attracted to her and sees that as evil temptation or something).
Its actually brilliant. Because it basically sums up Archer's whole P.O.V in this series. Kiritsigu chose the marbles, the marbles hurt him, but recognises that was all entirely on him for chosing to play with marbles. Exactly the same thing hurt Archer, but he chooses to disown the marbles and that he didn't want to play with marbles. Hense he blames the marbles and not himself.

You know, after watching this, I can understand why Archer wants to kill Shirou so bad. There's nothing more cringeworthy and agonizing as watching yourself make the same stupid mistakes over and over again.
To be honest, it's not the EXACT same way. Remember that Archer lived through the Fate route, only that he hadn't saved Saber's 'heart' there. So Shirou simply goes through a different form of life here, but with the same goals and ideals.

Irregardless and regardless are synonyms. It's improper English, but historically accepted. She used it as a result of her grasp on the English language being distorted when she was summoned.

Marbles sure are random, especially when you force them into wheelchairs, hold other marbles for ransom, forge a magical pact with marble forces you to watch as they grovel in pain on the ground. Begging for the sweet release of marble death. But you can’t. Because you signed a magical marble pack... and you can only watch.. as it’s last marble breath.. escapes... its marble... lips. Me: moral of the story marbles are random especially a gunslinger marble with a family of red eyed marbles

I didn't recognize it at first, but even having not experienced HF, I caught on pretty quickly that Sakura was Rider's proper master. Especially considering that, without a catalyst to summon someone specific, the Grail will often summon a Servant compatible to the summoner, which Shinji clearly isn't.
@@JoshtheOverlander Not sure if this is exactly canon but I'm pretty sure it was eventually revealed that it's actually impossible to summon a servant without a catalyst. Each instance where we think a servant is summoned without one is shown to be wrong (Rin summoning Archer, Shirou summoning Saber). I think the whole "similarity" thing is only for if multiple servants are eligible, like Mordred being summoned from a piece of the Round Table.

It could really be both and is one of the good things about this series, a lot of the jokes and even just normal sentences like that are 100% better with full knowledge about the series.

Took me watching Heavens Feel to understand that reference, and not gonna lie- My respect grew even more for how comically entertaining, yet so much more on point than the actual anime was about these subtle little one liners and jokes.

This abridged series seems made to aso appeal to fans of the base work so they can afford to be less subtle with injokes and foreshadowing, but the original anime has a different set of rules and limitations meaning that it has to be subtler with its foreshadowing. Let me tell you, the original VN would not gave had as much impact with the archer reveal if we hadn't gotten to know Shirou and Archer independent of their connection, and Rider turning into a badass in the HF route had more impact when we had vague ideas that Shinji was nerfing her from the other routes but less concrete info on why, and how.
The voice acting in this series is just phenomenal. Mere side characters like Sakura have a far better voice than the main characters of other abridgments. The dialog is hilariously witty, to the point that I prefer it over the actual dialog from the show or VN in most cases. I think this is my favorite episode yet, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Great job team!
It's easier to appreciate when you did watch the original. At least knowing the source material makes these references so much funnier when they come by and by god are they many.

You should watch SAO Abridged. To enjoy it, you don't need to even watch the official anime, though I do recommend doing so if you want to understand ALL the jokes. But the abridged is better written than the original, so you could say fuck that and ignore its' existence too.
You’re acting like this type of abridged is one in a million. This has not been the case for a long time. A Slap On Titan, SAO and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and more have done the same things that this has done. It’s not that special.

However, it’s progressive because of the fact that it’s really not that relevant to the war, and therefore shouldn’t be treated any differently from any other old information.

Kiritsugu only managed to save a single marble from the holy marble disaster who he thus named Shirou. So he is upset because his victory almost caused marbles everywhere to suffer. man typing marble in this is fun!

@@salvadortoscano2534 my understanding of the 2 is that elements are a mages affinity for certain magic though they can use magic outside of their element just not as well origin on the other hand is a lot more complicated and is basically a persons driving force now Shirou was born with the origin of sword and a unknown element maybe fire then when Kiritsugu saved Shirou and implanted Avalon in Shirou it changed his element to sword making his element match his origin making it so that he can only use magic outside his element to a basic level but any magic that is related to his matching origin and element is unequaled

Pretty sure he only covered the marbles that he actually killed, sadly since he didn't kill the golden marble it wasn't a part of the story. Also he only had 1 interaction with the golden marble and it was at the end of the series for like 5 seconds when he ordered his king marble to kill all the marbles in the city of marbles.

How fitting Shirou forgot Sakura was there. When going through the visual novel, at times I flat out forgot that Sakura even existed.
Shirou is an emotionally scarred kid with survivor's guilt chasing an insane dream. Rin is a homicidal alpha bitch who oddly still has standards. Somehow they are made for each other.
Sakura like an Archer kinda existed more for the sake of the foreshadowing of their respective roots

Its actually brilliant. Because it basically sums up Archer's whole P.O.V in this series. Kiritsigu chose the marbles, the marbles hurt him, but recognises that was all entirely on him for chosing to play with marbles.
Exactly the same thing hurt Archer, but he chooses to disown the marbles and that he didn't want to play with marbles. Hense he blames the marbles and not himself.

I didn't recognize it at first, but even having not experienced HF, I caught on pretty quickly that Sakura was Rider's proper master. Especially considering that, without a catalyst to summon someone specific, the Grail will often summon a Servant compatible to the summoner, which Shinji clearly isn't.

@@JoshtheOverlander Not sure if this is exactly canon but I'm pretty sure it was eventually revealed that it's actually impossible to summon a servant without a catalyst. Each instance where we think a servant is summoned without one is shown to be wrong (Rin summoning Archer, Shirou summoning Saber). I think the whole "similarity" thing is only for if multiple servants are eligible, like Mordred being summoned from a piece of the Round Table.
If Deathwing was summoned as a servant he would just end the world because he is cataclysm incarnate

This abridged series seems made to aso appeal to fans of the base work so they can afford to be less subtle with injokes and foreshadowing, but the original anime has a different set of rules and limitations meaning that it has to be subtler with its foreshadowing. Let me tell you, the original VN would not gave had as much impact with the archer reveal if we hadn't gotten to know Shirou and Archer independent of their connection, and Rider turning into a badass in the HF route had more impact when we had vague ideas that Shinji was nerfing her from the other routes but less concrete info on why, and how.

The voice acting in this series is just phenomenal. Mere side characters like Sakura have a far better voice than the main characters of other abridgments. The dialog is hilariously witty, to the point that I prefer it over the actual dialog from the show or VN in most cases. I think this is my favorite episode yet, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Great job team!

You should watch SAO Abridged. To enjoy it, you don't need to even watch the official anime, though I do recommend doing so if you want to understand ALL the jokes. But the abridged is better written than the original, so you could say fuck that and ignore its' existence too.
You’re acting like this type of abridged is one in a million. This has not been the case for a long time. A Slap On Titan, SAO and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and more have done the same things that this has done. It’s not that special.

White Recluse It’s both ignorant and progressive because the Hiroshima bombing was a horrific event, and by not teaching the servants about it, they are being somewhat ignorant of the tragedies impact. However, it’s progressive because of the fact that it’s really not that relevant to the war, and therefore shouldn’t be treated any differently from any other old information.

Ummm Kiritsugu did win the marble championship, its just that the reward for his victory was the destruction of all the marbles around except for his. so he broke the marble cup shocking marble heaven stopping the marble kill count at 1000. Kiritsugu only managed to save a single marble from the holy marble disaster who he thus named Shirou. So he is upset because his victory almost caused marbles everywhere to suffer.

@@salvadortoscano2534 my understanding of the 2 is that elements are a mages affinity for certain magic though they can use magic outside of their element just not as well origin on the other hand is a lot more complicated and is basically a persons driving force now Shirou was born with the origin of sword and a unknown element maybe fire then when Kiritsugu saved Shirou and implanted Avalon in Shirou it changed his element to sword making his element match his origin making it so that he can only use magic outside his element to a basic level but any magic that is related to his matching origin and element is unequaled

Pretty sure he only covered the marbles that he actually killed, sadly since he didn't kill the golden marble it wasn't a part of the story. Also he only had 1 interaction with the golden marble and it was at the end of the series for like 5 seconds when he ordered his king marble to kill all the marbles in the city of marbles.
