Oh good. I'm glad it was helpful. It's a pretty easy repair. Definitely not something I would want to pay someone a bunch of money to do, no? What was wrong with yours? Same issue?
I need to change ours this weekend. The check valve completely gave up with no warning and we had a full pump pressure jet of water spraying out the side of the RV 🤣
If the issue appears to be with the inlet itself, then replace that. If it might be the hose that connects to the back (inside) of the inlet then that would be your issue. You would need to figure out where exactly the water is escaping. Could be a hairline crack on the inlet or like I said, more of a hose leak issue. Let me know how it works/worked out!
Everyone should be warned... If you don't depressurize your water lines.... You will have water pouring out of that line.. which will get pulled INSIDE because the part being removed is the only thing holding that outside. So, the line will be INSIDE ..SPRAYING WATER. You MUST, shut off your water pump if you were using that. Then, open the lines inside till they stop running water and the pressure is relieved. Then go ahead and remove this. My neighbor was kind enough to repair a drip from my city intake while I was gone for 2 weeks. I guess he somehow broke the check valve. When I returned, I couldn't get water using the city intake, so I began filling my tank daily and using that until I was able to get the new part. The first thing I did was check this valve. AS SOON AS I MADE THE LAST TURN ON THE THREADED CONNECTOR.... IT GOT PULLED INSIDE & WATER BEGAN POURING OUT OF IT!!! I RAN INSIDE SHUT OFF MY PUMP!! BUT WATER CONTINUED POURING OUT!! Till I opened all of the inside lines! What a disaster!! Easily 5 gallons inside my RV! Always stop and think things thru when working with plumbing AND ELECTRIC!
Definitely. You want to depressurize and make sure that the pump is off. As you said though, even with that you can wind up with some water in the RV. My repair went pretty smoothly and I did not encounter any really dramatic issues.
Big help . Thanks

Very helpful, thanks for posting!
Good job explaining. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful. Were you having the same issue?
Thank you!
You are very welcome! Did you have the same situation?
dont you need to put teflon tape on the inner end also that you screwed into the hose? just wondering?
It has a rubber o-ring to seal
Thanks to Über Dad for rightly clarifying that for you. He's absolutely right.
Thanks for answering that. Spot on accurate.
I have water pouring out on the opposite side of my city water inlet. Should I just replace the inlet valve?
