What might be a good followup for these points is "try saying this instead". When left without that, it can sound like the only option is "just let the kids do what they want to do without any corrective effort".
Children and young adults already have a natural and inherent "bullshit detector" and they have an intuitive sense of right vs wrong. The biggest cause of disrespect is when a parent acts out of alignment with objective morality.
Teenagers are special and usually misunderstood. Great content! Thankfully for me my mother gave me space, flexibility, and respect. One phrase she said often was, “I’ll trust you until you give me a reason not to.” I appreciated that and now use it with my students and own children.
But unfortunately was so hard to develop this relantionship with them, especially when they are old enouth and spend a lot of time in the social media😣😪
The things I've been thru as child... this video makes empathize for my unborn child and I say this bc a have an aggressive personality and I'm preparing my self for empathy.... thank you for reminding me what is to be a child I'm here bc I don't want to put my child what I went thru and I want to remodel my character even do is waaay better I'm just a 29 year old who is trying to give my future son or daughter a healthy bond, relationship with me.
How can we intervene when it's really needed, for instance when a teenager is about to start using drugs, or have unsafe relationships, or whatsoever. How can we distinguish these interventions from the unwanted ones you're talking about in the teenager's mind?

I think I did it on the empathy one :) But you are right, suggestions are always good. Thanks for the feedback.

Never lie to teens or make promises that you can’t keep. That’s a shortcut to disrespect. A quick route to respect is laughing and playing with them.
