Imo Jackson was innocent but obviously that isn't enough as he was banned and is really tragic for such an all-time great.

He’s gone and didn’t bet on the World Series. The owner of the Sox was a complete jerk too. He didn’t say anything was his crime as he played well. Let Joe in now he deserves it. RIP Joe

I think they use him to cover up everyone else that were making bets, even the owners

It should be noted that averages have to be taken with a grain of salt. While his .356 average is 4th highest in baseball, his adjusted average places him at 67th all time. Still great, but not as great as you would think. His OPS+ though is still among the best in baseball! On the gambling, originally the debate was did Jackson have a plea deal with the prosecution or not on his testimony. Once it was found he did not, then his testimony was he was innocent. Which is true is anyone's guess, but my opinion is why would you confess to taking 5000 dollars or even make a deal if you knew you were innocent? Others testified to his involvement.

That is interesting. His level of involvement in the scandal is debatable, as mentioned in the video. Still, the scandal ended his MLB career.

These guys also threw games in 1920, knowing their end was near, something nobody ever looks at.

His ban was for life. He’s passed away, so technically his life is over, why isn’t he in the Hall?

@@andrewlisting7310 There's been debate about admitting him to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I think it should happen.
