It’s honestly so nice to see someone rank every track in this game based almost solely on how fun the tracks are. I see way too many people put sunset wilds for example as last simply because the sun doesn’t set. I definitely disagree with some of your takes but overall this is a W tier list
i will never understand how people like tokyo blur over new york minute, you can at least tell they tried slightly on new york, tokyo is literally just road with nothing interesting in the background
@barklava Visually, yeah NYM >Tokyo Blur, but the layout in New York has literally nothing of note. Tokyo at LEAST has like a off-road ramp you can get with a mushroom and way better elevation changes that NYM

I am afraid I have to disagree with you on the fun part of Mario Curcuit 3, that track was already added as a retro track on Wii, we could've gotten any other SNES track over Mario Curcuit 3, I mean seriously, we could've gotten any of the Vanilla Lake tracks or even Mario Curcuit 4 which hasn't been brought back since Super Curcuit, I mean seriously we could've gotten Mario Curcuit 4, that track could've rock with the remake, I mean seriously, most of the retro tracks on the booster course pass were brought back because most of them are from Wii, I mean tracks like Peach Gardens, DK Mountain, Waluigi Stadium and Mario Curcuit 3
Very much agree. I have a newfound appreciation for it ever since I went to Bangkok earlier this year as a part of my study abroad trip I did this past semester. Same thing for Sydney Sprint and even Tokyo Blur.
36:37 not a track but the winning results in mk super circuit are in 5/4. there's a mario kart fandom article about "Mario Kart Music Not in 4/4 Time" for other irregularities like 3/4 or 6/8, 12/8, and 11/8
@@grimmyreap9920 fair but I talking about the courses and playing with the wheel I just found it a cool way too play Mario kart game overall that game is great in my opinion
Wish Nintendo would have made it possible to reorganize the cups. Having to play at least one city course in every booster pack cup gets old. I would like to be able to bundle then all into a couple of cups. I don’t hate those courses but it would be nice to either play them all together or just ignore them completely.
Another person just hating on the city courses for no real reason. For me those are still some of the best courses in the game, I love almost all of them and Tour Berlin Byways is on my top 10 of the best courses of all time in particular. It is a beautiful car course that is a lot more unique than just having that one gimmick carrying it for you actually go through more stuff than on any other car course. Also, Tour Madrid Drive would be one of the worst courses in any other game? It is such an amazing course to go through for how diverse and dynamic it is, that really soured the ranking from the get-go to me. I hope city courses keep coming back in future games, they are so fun. Tour Berlin Byways even convinced me to go travel to that city and I found out that it's really close to the actual course. Also, Tour/BCP Ninja Hideaway is still the best course in the game to me by far. It feels like I'm always alone on loving those courses.
For me it's really mixed, I get that people hate Tokyo, New York or Paris (even tho they can be fun too), but like Athens (my favorite city course), Madrid, Singapore, Vancouver and Berlin are really well done imo. Some of them are just bad but there are also really great ones
I agree, lap changing tracks were the best innovation Tour added to 8 Deluxe. You get 3 different routes each track instead of the same lap every time, which adds greater variety and feels like a more realistic course (which fits the real world cities).
@@thomasharo1296 Indeed, it's just bias against Mario Kart Tour that translates into bias against legitimately some of the best courses in the series even when taken out of that context.

A few things: 1. You forgot Wave 3 in the Wave rankings. I'd place it somewhere in the upper half since it does have better quality than Waves 1,2&5, but it's slightly inferior to Waves 4&6. 2. As much as I love the Wii nitro tracks (Wii Maple Treeway and Wii Rainbow Road are my favorites), its retro selection was ok. As much as I loved seeing GCN DK Mountain, DS Peach Gardens and GCN Waluigi Stadium return, SNES Mario Circuit 3 was the last one anybody wanted to return (well, except for you, I guess). I honestly think that SNES MC3 should've been replaced by any of the SNES tracks that haven't returned yet, like the Vanilla Lakes. 3. Without the city courses, you wouldn't have your precious SNES MC3 in MK8DX now would you? Though Tokyo Blur is still the worst one (why did you botch it up so bad Nintendo?). All I'm saying, is at least give some love to the city courses would you? Otherwise, a good ranking, minus the misplaced praise for SNES MC3 and the equally misplaced hate for the city courses.
The center railing in this version of Baby Park makes it marginally less egregiously chaotic. The Double Dash version was HORRENDOUS. Say what you want about the other three tracks, but at least most of the time the person who deserves to win will win. That's simply not the case for Baby Park, and that's why I hate it so much. ESPECIALLY in Double Dash.
The city tracks deserved better. I get that they’re not the best, but they introduced the lap change gimmick, and they possibly referenced the game Mario is Missing. In my opinion, Paris is worse than Tokyo. You visit the same landmarks on all 3 laps, and the track is just too compact.

DK Summit is just... awkward. It basically railroads you into taking halfpipes. I find them disorienting. Cheese Land is bloody awful - it swings wildly between dull and cheap. And don't get me started on the second goddamn Chain Chomp. Have a Mushroom, learn to drive on an A4 wide patch, or get your shit wrecked. Nooooo thank you!
