Farmer Phil hats off to you guy's for making sure that crops can be sowed in time day and night. Sometimes at night where I live it is like starship enterprise with all the lights especially when harvesting seasons.
This video is not only good, but important. It demonstrates clearly how much hard work is involved in farming. Also, how tedious some jobs on the farm are. Driving around the same field dragging a harrow is not the worst job, but it is also not the most interesting thing and doing it twice is worse. The worst of all is doing it in the dark when you can't even enjoy the scenery, wildlife and sometimes the good weather. Good or bad, it must be done and as with anything, if you make a mess of the important first steps, the results will reflect that. Great work by the entire team and support by Bro and Liv is just as important as the tractor driving.
Samaz mower controls still in the 99 triples must be still in storage for this season 🤔🤔
At least on this liv won’t mind you “Sowing” all the way through the video Phil 😅😂👍
7:06 “ Fast but slow going “😂
Great video Phil them hours are tough I worked 44 hrs straight driving a combine as rain was on the way I was in my my mid twenties at the time I’m 49 now but wouldn’t be able to work them hours anymore I gave up machinery work when I hit my early thirty’s after getting married sometimes I do miss it and I got to see a lot of America and Canada and Australia working on arable farms I’ve huge respect for all people working in the farming industry it’s very tough work
all late down here in Cork too. cattle only out from the shed at Easter, and slurry and dung only out last week as contractor up the walls. werent able to get someone to plough the ground so ended up pulling out the old 3 furrow and doing it myself after work, ended pulling a late night too to be able to finish before the rain too. waiting for it to dry before getting out the power harrow and seed drill. hopefully weather holds over the weekend
We’ve been out all day busy now we have our favourite farmers to settle down with wonderful so wonderful so Good luck 🤞
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Same here Diane . Just sitting down now to catch up with Phil and the team . Weather has been shocking
Hi farmer phil...
I remember in the 70's we use to make may hay. Here in south wales
Tough one Phil, the hardest is around 3/4am you get a bit of a second wind after then.
Exactly it has been done before so it worked, whatever works Phil, I think it's time to invest in a second harrow and get bro harrowing ground
The 6499 is a mighty tractor !
fun fact-the red bull 'recipe' came from somewhere in southeast asia. the bull is from a type of wild cattle caled saur- big dangerous critters.
i ain't got the foggiest what the drink tastes like- tea, is the answer to everything
As they used to say in the wild west movies a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do fair play to you and all the other farmers for doing the almost impossible in this crazy wet weather 👍
Well done Phil. Double shifts are tough. Great video. Enjoyed watching 👍🏼
You’re some man for one man 💪
Great content as always !
Great one Phil hat's off to you all Great team 👍👏
Another very interesting video
Well done Phil legendary mate 😅
Ye work hard lads
Great video Phil. The Lemkin is a mighty piece of kit.
It’s been a tough spring. We got finished yesterday. It was latest we have ever sowen but all went in good order with a lot of long hours and hard work. Just like you we had to get through it.
Hey lad mighty video well done
God bless you one and all.
Great video as always Phil,👍👍
Grate video Phil you are a hard-working family !
Great content as always guys👌, hopefully harvest will be a lot more pleasanter conditions 🤞🤞🤞,
Very interesting video of sowing your seed. Very glad that at least you can start seeding. Hope fields get dry soon.
Good video always enjoyable to watch i work a double shift every Thursday not getting to bed until 4.30 am and up at 8 not easy but when it has to be done it has to be done , get your rest and good luck and save driving when you have long hours done
Good video Phil that's a long shift raining here again in Cork
Fairplay to you, that's tough going. Hard to beat the orange lucozade.
Just finished last Saturday lad, and landed in Spain on Sunday, the pressure was on
About 4.30 am. The joys of it
Good man phil, great insight into what goes into preparing crops when weather not playing ball , sum hours u put in there ,great see 3075 out on the field, 99 playing blinder as always, keep videos coming
Great video, though going but at least you’ve got great equipment to get the job done. Keep up the good work.
2nd of may we might get sowing tomorrow if we’re lucky and we’re up in orkney 😅
Spring planting is delayed but have got the crop of silage off ready to start planting them though at least it’s only maize and beet so still got a bit of time on those crops!
Well done Phil getting the crops in Father Phil happy man sowing the lazy man's way with the old tractor hope you didn't fall asleep loading the bulls.
Finished spring barley on February 14th and spring oats on February 21st - Lincolnshire
Hon Bro , keep da pedal to the metal n get da job done 💪🏽
Another great video farmer Phil great drone footage 👍👍
Sowing all done here in South tiipp about two weeks ago. Some silage cut over past few days. Weather broken now but silage will be on the agenda once weather picks up
Any news on the 6480 yet ?
It has been a very wet spring for sowing this year Phil. We're only finished a few days our self's if that's any help😅. I never tryed sowing any with the fertiliser spreader but it looks to be working well for u lads👍
ever thought about getting a wider harrow
Phil it's very tough life its like saying plough the field's and scatter
well done as usual , if the wheels aint turning , something aint working , keep it going , sleep is overrated anyway
We Are very lucky that our ground is fast drying and we finished our sowing 4 days ago including the spudss😂
👍
Keeping it lit and sucking diesel round the clock 👍🏻
I reckon you will have it all done in half an hour 😊
Well
Well 😂😂
Here in Trøndelag norway we haven’t even started🍻
Long long days and nights it hits yee about 2..30 in the morning
All sowed here in kilkenny,,finished sowing fodder beet 3of May
Hello Larry From Mick Phelan here in Western Australia Your Late.Uncle Tom and me self did it on a grey fergy and 35 in rattly steel cabs I understand auto steer means that you can grab a sleep on the long runs To farmer Phil the Red Bull is bad for sleep Black Tae much better fun fact myself and A bloke from Kilkeel once did near 60 hrs on a job here in Australia we weren’t driving but no Red Bull ,only ever drank a half a dozen cans in my lifetime Hope ye all get a good crop
Would the 7618 be able for the Harrow
6 AM
At beet Phil
If you had a 4 meter disc instead of a 3 what takes you four days would be done in 3 plus a small bit less turning on a headland .
5 am
Did ya buy the samaz mowers
Is that alder in your forestry ,what is the plan for it
Thats some going ground is very wet the year but i will say up with us in armagh grass is coming along well for the year we've had we just sowed are silage ground last Monday about 70 to 100 acres so should have a good pit of stuff this year its actually the first pit we have done in 3 or 4 years just getting sick of the bales at this point 😂😂
Must have bought the butterflies?
4.15 am is my guess
Hey Phil how do you stay awake? I found it really hard in a nice comfy cab pulling all nighters. The wife would like to know how are the piglets 🐖.
Did you get any wings after the red bull
You have probably had this question before, why not get a bigger cultivator. I reckon you'd be finished by4-4:15 in the morning. I'd be grabbing a higher gear wherever possible on the second time round!
Agree you've got alot of tractor for a wee little disc. I know they're not cheap
The cost of upgrading to a wider disc is what’s stopped us
Have you not got a power harrow drill combination Phil?
No as the most of our ground is too stoney for power harrows
If its got auto steer can you not just jump out and go get a kip and leave it running 😅tell you what you farmers don't get the respect you deserve, the graft you put in is something else! 👍🏽
6 o'clock 19:18
I think the next piece of kit should be a 6m cultivator, hats off to ya for the long shift 👌🏼
I’d love a 6m cultivator
U want chats to Zach from milleaninal farmer get lend is big harrow for few days😂
Noone around here in the mideast part of Norway are done, most of them haven't gotten into the fields as we got a lot of snow again last week. Sooo not ideal at all. But seeing the 99 hard at it helps :)
Great to hear your report from Norway and sorry to hear your weather has been poor also . Know a few lads around Tonsberg and seen others farming up near Lund . Keep er lit 🔥 man hope it comes good 👍
@@ghostrider7688 yeah, guess the guys south of Oslo is getting on earlier but North of Oslo in the Inlands it's a damn late spring. But, we must hope the weather gets perfect in the end
Another fun fact u need a bigger harrow or even a second one to get the job done quickly😅
I know😂
Hi Phil. Really enjoy your content. I've a few fields to be sown with barley and peas for wholecrop but the fields are horrid wet, too wet for a 1600 gallon tanker. In yoir opinion how late is too late for wholecrop?
25 may
@@georgedoorley5628 cheers mate
We’ve sowed oats as late as the 6th of June and cut as wholecrop end of September
@@FARMERPHIL3690 we sowed beet on the 13 of may in 1990 .......ground was bone dry and the beet did not germenate till the 2nd week of june when it got a thunder shower ......... it grew after , was not too bad a crop when pulled in december
If you wanted to put a phone out the side window like that how would u do it
Phil, how many kids in your family? Is it only you & Eric?
4 of us 2 boys 2 girls
@@FARMERPHIL3690 oh cool.
Bro is gonna need to start dressing the part 😂
What make is that thing and what width is it and what hp does it take. Nothing like that here in our area
3.4m lemken Rubin 9 will work with the 6290s so 135hp but it’s very heavy
Nice video my friend 💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
A very creative idea 💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward
💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤😘😘😘😘
4:33
Why not get a wider harrow? 180hp tractors round here have much wider one pass harrows and thats in this heavy derbyshire soil
Today is Today
Yesterday was Today Yesterday
Tomorrow will be Today Tomorrow
Father phil will find u asleep in the morning
6.25
have you still the mover phil
👍🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏👌👌
When are you goung to start repairing the combine?
Probably between 1st and 2nd cut silage
2.5M Harrow? Or is it a 5M?
Rough as getout on the headland
Dryth
Yall need a bigger harrow bad
why cant you use old zig zag harrows to go after the seed in the ground they are a lot wider
Doesn’t leave as nice a finish as the disc
wont cover the seed to the depth you need after broadcast sowing. Fine for grass seed but not for cereals. the birds will have a field day.
The lemkin ,some yoke ,the disc on her owe ye nothing anyway, 👍🏿
So now yer sowing. So I reckon you be there till 4.45 sowing. That red bull is not good 😂😂
you will be finished 'drectly'.
Same , moist not enjoyable.
Buy a one pass and stop the fooling around ....for god sake.and get it done.
The power harrow doesn’t suit them
@@jimxyz8150 am only going off what he has said 👍
@@jimxyz8150 he has said before that power harrows arent great in there ground from stones. they have tried before and destroyed 3 of them
@@michaelhanley8425 sure if that bad sow grass seed and for get about try to grow corn.....type crops.. ..and that place was sowing with a power harrow last year ...
too wet
