Its great, and I'm aware I'm a buzzkill, but is it really a demonstration of physics, rather than just scripting and animation? The slip movements seemed too consistent to be the result of some kind of simulated interaction.

Man, this or B&S would make for such great foundations of a large-scale RPG in VR. Just gimme a light story hook, some questing and some areas to explore and I'd be incredibly content. It's tragic that VR mods for the Elder Scrolls games are the only way of getting anything close to that.
Tbf, it's not like either dev team are unaware of that. They just realize it's better to make a strong foundation first to build experience and build out the tools to make a more complex game. Otherwise, it's like an brand new fresh from unity tutorials programmer suddenly deciding to make an open world MMO as their first project.
This game makes blunt weapons feel so much more satisfying than Blade and Sorcery. Maybe it's the heads going splat like a pool of jello, maybe it's them not feeling like pool noodles to swing around, but something the Hellsplit guys are doing just WORKS for maces and hammer style weapons...and they just recently added polearms!
As a professional horse girl, 7/10 horse, solely because you can't feel the velvety nose and they don't stay that still usually. Also, they usually won't jsut run into shit even if you tell them to. They have brains too. The OG self driving lol

I'm sure war horses were specifically trained to run into battle without causing too much of a hassle were they not? Cavalry rode horses into battle way back when and they probably wouldn't be very viable if their horses didn't do what they were supposed to do. I don't really care about horses though so my knowledge on them is limited, enlighten me.
The zombie that randomly exploded wasn't random, you luckily managed to perfectly reflect the arrow shot at you with your sword and that somehow made him explode like it hit some kind of bomb

theres mod support for hellsplit now, and its incredibly good custom maps (training tab), modern guns that arent jank, really good quality swords, cars and more
you can also rip zombies heads off, and punch through their chest - ripping out their heart (don't hold it up to your face). Surprised I didn't see you squirming about those in the video haha
Beating the Campaign for this Vr was the first ever campaign i ever beat in a VR game and it was soooo much fun cant wait for the Community Modded Story Mode
one of THE BEST VR games out there ... It's hands down a MUST have .. definitely in the TOP 3 VR GAMES ... the best fighting experience I've encountered so far. Just wait till the 1.2 Mod support update drops. This game is going to be next level. They've already got mod authors testing the SDK, and one of the more ambitious mod teams has started building a straight up campaign with voiced NPC and everything.
There is actually an rpg game for VR. IRRC it's called zenith VR, it's not like a normal one where you'd expect a D&D type dungeon crawler, but there are classes and stuff. It doesn't have much content last time I checked when it comes to character creation but I digress. The "mage" class is more like a more sophisticated gunner, but it's still pretty good, likewise with the swordman/warrior class (i don't remember what it's called)
The Hellsplit devs are currently working on a mod SDK, including support custom weapons and scenario maps. Once it comes out, this game could seriously compete with Blade and Sorcery.
I feel like there’s so much potential for vr games and there’s barely any big companies taking advantage of this which is sad like imagine a game with horses as good or even better than this in vr that was like an all out battle with swords clashing and stuff and cavalry u could vs people on
the horse interaction mechanics make me long for a full vr red dead can you imagine setting up your camp by hand and just chilling petting your horse next to the fire

I remember when I still had working VR, in my first round with this game I made a false edge cut from fool guard to ox and cleaved a zombie in two. The torso fell back and the legs just stood there for a second. Would play.
I got my brother over for his first VR experience a while ago, he adapted quick and before too long, we were playing this. And by playing this I mean we were a few beers down and spent hours cry laughing tripping that zombie over with the banana peel.
small funfact, on "small" equiped zombie, you can grab their heat by making a fist and going through their torso, or you can litterally decapitate them by pulling their head off!

Everything feels way different and the swords feel weighted like they are axes for some reason (which is ironically probably why habie likes the cutting) but after playing blade and sorcery and knowing how swords feel in real life hellsplit is not the same, play it like an arcade game, not a simulator, if you want that, then enjoy it's great for that

A mesh referring to the 3D model without the textures. So yeah, you're saying it right, though the textures look really good as well and I suspect they have good normal maps (it's a texture applied to a mesh that makes it look like it has more detail than it actually does by telling light how and where to reflect light differently). So all in all, I'd just say they have good models.
It always surprises me when people say Blade and Sorcery is the best VR sword combat game ever. I think it's great as a physics sandbox combat simulator but as a game I prefer stuff like Until You Fall or Swords of Gargantua. Ended up also writing off Hellsplit because it looked too dark for me but I'm surprised to see a bright outdoor snow level.

Blade and sorcery with the subhuman (Dmc5) music mod is a good way to really ramp up combat.

It's funny, I actually did this in the reverse order. I played through hellsplit long before I gave Blade and Sorcery a fair shot.
