We have lost 2 great sitcoms. I never looked at Mitch and Cam as a guy couple Just as a couple with a child. I am 71 and loved watching them. Jesse is a wonderful actor. His story was heartbreaking
These podcasts help me so much. I’m 15 and love modern family and TBBT so much. I’m lesbian and struggle with it sometimes but listening to people I look up to talk about how it’s okay is so amazing! Also loved the episode you did a few months ago with Julie Bowen. You guys are my favourite actress!! So sweet to see Jesse and Jim being friends (cried a little of happiness) thank you Mayim for helping me when i need it the most
There will be many people in your life who will love you for you and not your preferences. Seek them out as you journey along and don’t settle for less. ❤
I was watching MF once, and found myself howling with laughter, and realizing how rare shows were/are that made me laugh like that were. Honestly, that show was truely a 'laugh out loud' show.
It's such a great show, truly hilarious! Schitts Creek was that "laugh out loud" show for me!! Omg if you haven't watched, go now! Stop reading comments and put it on! Come on, what are you still doing here!? 🤣 🤣 🤣
I love Mayim’s reaction whenever the guest says they were a Blossom fan. No matter who you’re talking to or what’s being discussed, I seem to find something every episode that reminds me everyone might be different, but everyone is so similar. Today, it was Jesse talking about looking for where he fit & needing to find where he’s supposed to be.
Maybe my favorite episode! Thank you for having this fabulous, funny, kind & brilliant man! As you two are here speaking so freely with fabulous Jesse about how things were merely 10-15 years ago regarding gay couples, I’m asking myself if we’re truly aware how all minorities rights won in past & hard struggles are receding now by giant steps worldwide..It’s because that that “Out & Proud” militant people as same Jesse or Jim Parson must be heard loud & clear! Thanks so much for having Jesse here. Eagerly waiting to have Jim here too! Diversity, gender equity & inclussive films & convos are so much needed. For constant pedagogy. Word of this straight HHRR’s defendant woman in her early 60’s who recently watched Jim Parson’s Spoiler Alert film & did what never does: cried. Such stunning love story. Beyond gender & sexuality issues. Oscar-worthy performance by Jim!
Seeing my favorite character being partially and genuinely his character is just really really touching . I am so happy that not everyone is straight and white as I am (not in a naive way) just happy , cause I gain so so much from his personality. It’s so enriching to my life and I feel so fortunate that I live in a time where people like Jesse are “allowed” to inspire me . There is a really cozy, warm place in my heart that is reserved for him and his sensitivity. Thank you . For the interview, for the inside and openness, but really just for being you Jesse ! ❤
Hi Mayim, I'm a 17 year old Italian boy. I always love hearing your podcast, you always ask the right and interesting questions and it's so much fun and educational. The Big Bang Theory helped me and helps me a lot and it's thanks to you too... You're a great person, I love you and wish you the best!
34:16 I LOVE that you said this. Whenever I see a comment on social media somewhere saying being gay or transgender (but moreso transgender now) is "a phase" and "kids don't know what they want" and "I will say I"m a puppy so I"m a puppy".. I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ask them "Why is it ok for you to know you are straight but it's not ok for someone who's gay/transgender/etc to not know who they are?" I HAVE NEVER ONCE GOTTEN A DIRECT REPLY TO THIS QUESTION FROM THE UNEDUCATED AND ILINFORMED!
I have to admit I never watched the show Modern Family, so I was not familiar with this actor. But what a delightful interview and such a warm and wonderful person. Enjoyed it!
Loved the episode but please don't get rid of the last segment with you and Jonathan. Often my favorite parts of podcasts. Back to the episode, great guest. I found Jesse so fun and refreshing and light.
glad to see u use the full acroynm and that he started saying same sex i jsut dont feel he needs them headphones on n i drifted from her podcasts glad to be back n good to see this 1
Starting a work week on a Tuesday so glad there was a new episode to get me through and that I worked from home so that I could laugh out loud literally. What a fun great episode. Jesse is so funny. You keep bringing us different perspectives and it's fantastic.
I loved this episode Jesse is a great actor and a great human being i first saw him in modern family but then I started to follow his trajectory in theater too and I get it why we loved his character Mitchell so much is so talented and transparent that you can tell he is honest in his job talking about his career but personally he taught me the importance of diversity and the challenges behind that I had some different point of view about the lgbt community by the way my parents raised me but now I can understand that everyone deserves love and happiness and the necessity to be heard it is so touching 😊❤
I would love to see Jesse again soon in any role - gay or straight. He is such a fun likable person (just like Neal Patrick). I hope Jesse keeps in mind that there are many of us “watchers” who aren’t so dialed-in on the actors sexuality preference because we/I find the actor so enjoyable to watch. I hope Jease gets to read this message. He is such a beautiful delightful person to watch. Looking forward to seeing more of him in anything! Mahalo🙏🏼💐💞🤗!!!
This is such a great podcast. I'd really LOVE to see Pedro Pascal on here, he has talked about how he deals with anxiety and such, and he's so amazing. Quite busy, though, lol, fingers crossed.
Just wanted to add to the end of the conversation, that not only people insist on one specific gender for baby clothes, but also that it's extremely hard to find gender neutral clothes in general. I had a hard time finding specific types of shirts for my child because what my kid wanted was only targeted to the opposite gender in the toddler years. I wish we could have more neutral options for kids of all ages.
I had the same situation with my 12th grade English teacher in 1980 wanting me to do my monologue that I had just won with at a tournament the weekend before. I pulled her aside and told her it was about two gay men, she turned deep red and said well I guess we won't be doing that then and launched into her lesson for the day.
I really really really adore people in this videos, whatever they do, acting, working, sharing or just simply living, they are angels and they are shiny in every single moment as they put their hearts in what they do. I feel so thankful that somehow in life, I had a chance to know about TBBT and MF. Thank you guys so much for the great great works which keeps people like me being positive and happy in both daily basis and careers. Thank you 🌷
I truly think The Mitchell and Cam characters changed the way other people thought about and acted towards me and my ss relationship. They normalised gay relationships.👍🏼❤
Oh my Godness! Speechless discovering “the man” behind the actor! Jesse Tyler Fergusson “in flesh” here! I feel that now you “owe us” somehow to have your common and dear friend Jim Parsons here too to close the circle! Even if I imagine that Jim as your guest must be difficult (or exactly the contrary) precisely by your close friendship. So sweet when Tyler speaks about his own crush on Mayim, and so adorable Mayim’s reaction on that! So delightful too when Jonathan asks him if he’s a part of her fan club! Still laughing. Glorious moments when he blushes red as he speaks ab stealing gay porn and his mom’s 100 condoms gift! Even if it seems to me it was a hard way the way he came out (and who isn’t?). Such unique man and such brave militancy! Thank you to the three of you! 💜💛 And a note: now that tv writers are on strike for a fair payment, we must homage the ones that both your fabulous sitcoms, TBBT and MF had. Along with their magnificent ensembles, you gave (and still give me) so much happy moments! Forever grateful!
Mayim- your hair is rockin! Great look, love the style, volume and parting and the back pieces are flattering. Whoever did you nailed it. So loving it. You shine!
An actor doesn't only have to be able to act well. They also need to be able to "sell tickets" and that is almost more important than how good actors they are. That is way there are only a handful of movie stars left as so few have name recognition enough to draw an audience.
Jessie is relatable I used to be that theatre and choir kid from high school always doing something. And that mutual feeling having a universal crush on you Mayim😅😂❤
I would love to see him play a diametric opposite to the Family Guy characters. I could see him as a very serious, straight-laced bad-guy, a serial killer or assassin kind. He has the ability to bring an intensity to such a role that would make it 100% believable. Add some warmth to the reason for the job and we would even root for him to succeed in his assignment (LOL).
I hate how in this day and age where we are encouraged to be more open minded toward people of all walks of life we seem to be more closed minded. This thought comes when Jesse was talking about being turned down for a straight roll. It's like those in charge of casting don't understand what the term "acting" is.
I can't believe he had to go in from of a judge for shoplifting, I live in Canada and was caught shoplifting in my teens and I didn't have to go in front of a judge and I think a social worker told me what my punishment was, which was some community service and some counseling and an apology letter to the store I got caught in.
It's awesome you and Jessie both share a friendship with Jim Parsons, Mayim. You and him are my favorite actor and actress ever! Keep your good job! I really miss you as Amy in Big Bang Theory! You and Jim Parsons really did a great job playing Sheldon and Amy: the best fictional couple in history! I found both of them very similar to me in personality. I had never related to fictional characters very much before Big Bang Theory
I’m sorry, but until Americans think Europe is a country, or Europe is only the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, the “narrow minded” comment about how Europeans see the US does not land that nice, respectfully. That aside, it was a great episode, i love JTF!

Because that's true to the human experiences. These variables (X, Y, Z) really don't speak to who we are at the core.
Hi loved you since Blossom. Did you know your podcast song theme is the same opening tune for Archie? Google Archie Bunker some time! Love you on Jeopardy BBT and your podcast. Critics.....who needs 'em?? Love Jonathan too. I also manage OCD. I live in Yuma AZ and fall to sleep to podcasts of many different subjects. I'm 63yo and a classically trained opera singer, have a rescue cat, enjoyed Cats and know you are a triple threat! Enjoy the here and now MB!! Yours, MA
Ironic how Hollywood does actors/actresses. It's ACTING.... portraying different characters. An art of being someone else. By type casting, it's really a waste of so much talent. And by the way he's adorable!
