    My son is 20 months old and its so interesting to see how differently these small people develop. For example, my son basicly does 0 talking but is doing everything else motoric and socially wise. Toddlers are amazing ❤.

    Out of curiosity I did this questionnaire for my 19-month-old. She scored 60 on gross motor and personal-social! She's stair obsessed. lol Thanks for this video :)

    Wow I feel like my child is so behind he doesn’t find things in books but I mean if I tell him go pick up the __ he does so I guess that’s close. He’s good with gross, fine motor and the rest of the things

    Question: do stacking duplo blocks count as stacking toys/blocks? Because my son is not interested in stacking any toys, especially blocks. He just ignores the wodden blocks and goes straight to the duplo blocks. But he can stack an impressive amount of duplo blocks!
    He excells in all categories (especially gross motor - he walks the entire stair case up and down with no help), but communication has always been a weak spot. However it's getting better and he is still making the cut-off score. ❤ Thank you for providing all the information.

      @@GinnyBeeEdD I will, but sometimes it feels like my toddler rather run around than just sit with me and do somethings like for example taking care of a teddy or dolly

      My daughter always has one area she struggled in, too! That’s pretty normal for them to be really amazing at one area and have room to grow in another!

    What about nonverbal communication? Like putting things in your hands if they want you to help, or holding your hand and taking you someplace to get what they want?

    Thank you! My baby needs more work on the communication part. She is excelling in all the other areas. I’m so proud of her. I’m going to try to find that book on Amazon. Do you mind providing the title? Thanks again! I’ll be back to check out your other videos.

    I don’t understand. My baby just turned 20 months and she got zero points on communication skills. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

      It’s likely not you! These things happen sometimes. Talk to your pediatrician and they will help you come up with a plan!

    My 20month old does all of these except the stairs(I won't let him go downstairs alone) and only says one word at a time except 'go go go'.

    My kid CAN drink out of and put down a cup when he wants to, but he’s a stinker butt and prefers to spill. I know this bc every time he does it, he looks at me and tries to maintain eye contact while doing it. 😂🤣
    Our problem areas are gross motor and problem solving. He’s also got most of the communication down but has not really started putting simple sentences together yet. I’ve maybe heard him do it once or twice, but I wouldn’t count that as “sometimes”.

  • @lizf1353
    @lizf1353 7 місяців тому

    It would have been helpful if you included examples of what "sometimes" means. Does it mean 50% of the time that you try the actions they will successfully do them or 10% or 90%?

    I am only facing my son's communication problem... He only uses two words when he need to eat and when he need to drink... That's all... He is 22 months old, now what I suppose to do ? Should I see a Dr ? Or should I wait ? And one more thing, he is very fond off nursery rhymes like coco melons etc...My first son was a CP and he dies.... Now I have 2nd, and my wife is little scared....

      What about animal sounds? I bet he would like practicing those and Animal sounds count as words! I would talk to your pediatrician about your concerns at his two year appointment. They might be able to give you a referral if they think it is needed. I’m so very sorry about your first son. That is heartbreaking.

    This is a little misleading, since this all depends on the activities to do with your child. Also, some kids only start speaking at 18 months, not every child can say two words even at 24 months, so to expect a child to say two words at a time at 22 months is not always realistic. Of course many kids do, but that doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with a child if they don’t. Every child develops completely differently.

    • @GinnyBeeEdD
      @GinnyBeeEdD  Рік тому +2

      Of course, but the expectation is that a child meets the cutoff, not that they can do every single thing. My daughters both did not always master every single thing for a given month and that is completely developmentally appropriate!
