I am a grandma and love having these ideas at hand for when my granddaughter gets to visit us again...we are in Canada and she is in the U.S. and turned one in April. I am so sad at the activities and milestones we have missed experiencing with her but I am thankful for face-time!
Very similar situation here, our daughter just turned one in June, and all my family is in the US. My dad still hasn't had a chance to meet his grand-daughter and rarely sees her on any form of video call (my dad is not tech savvy at all, he doesn't even text, just getting him to figure out his touch screen was a challenge). Thankfully my sister goes to visit him occasionally and will video call me so he can see us. Let's hope we can visit with our loved ones soon, hopefully before the little ones turn 2.
The one giving animals a bath is amazing for my 3 year old brother he loves animals especially washing them! It kept him busy for over 45 minutes!! Thank you so much
Love all these activities and ideas! My nearly 15month old daughter is 100% a little mermaid and LOVES the water it doesn't even matter how much water there is, or what the source is. She has found the cat's water fountain. . . she started out just splashing in it, but more recently she has decided she is going to drink from it too. lol I give her water throughout the day, and in 2 different styles of cups, but she wants the cats water fountain. I put the fountain up and out of reach and instead just kept a regular water bowl (cats still went there to look for the water) and my daughter found it, then proceeded to get her water squirt toy and started playing in the small bowl of water. Another thing she likes to do, matching game, when she wants to go on a walk she will bring me my shoes. Over time it's something she just learned I guess, mama puts on shoes and we go outside. It may be messy, but I no longer pair up my shoes side by side near the door, instead I leave them in a bit of a messy pile, and then my daughter will bring me a pair. Tonight was probably the cutest matching, she grabbed one flip flop then went back found the match, looked at it, then back over to me, then back to the shoe in front of her, before bringing it over and it just made me so proud. We are working on matching colours/shapes too, using a book with both of those things and then putting her sorting blocks or other toys onto the page/picture that matches. I work with what she feels like doing, if it's shapes I encourage to go that route, and not overwhelm her with too many sorting options at once.
Water is the best toy! I love giving toys bubble baths with the kids I look after using gentle dish soap. A 3 year old and I found that some of her plastic play food floated and tried balancing small animals on top. Great for the "will it sink?" question. She played with the water in a cooking bowl for about an hour!
Thank you so much for your content. I'm a new mom with an 18 month old and am having trouble finding new and interesting things for him to play with and learn. I work from home full time as well, so I need to find things he can do on his own as well as activities we can play together. He does pretty good but as he gets older, he needs new things that will challenge him.
My son is turning two next week, and he would love so many of these ideas! He has a great time getting hands on and messy, so we've been doing that a lot with paint, playdough and in the kitchen.
My daughter Ava turns 2 on September 13th and she is the type of toddler who needs constant stimulation which is great, I love and constantly encourage her curiosity. Using her hands, painting, water play and feeling different textures are her favorite type of activities and sometimes it can be extremely hard to find things to keep her engaged and stimulated. I'm excited about this video we are going to try a couple of these things right now but I just wanted to ask since your son sounds a lot like my daughter and when you wrote this comment your son was the same exact age as my daughter, what were his favorite at home activities to do with things that are found around the house? Did you try these activities in the video and have luck with them?
Thank you so much for making these videos. I got surprised with 2 babies under 2. I never really knew if I wanted to be a mom or not then bam I got two back to back. I’ve lived a very hard life of physical, sexual, and mental abuse/ trauma since I was two years old. So I never knew if I wanted children because of my own issues and I honestly don’t know how to mother children let alone babies. It’s been a huge journey and learning process for me. I just learned that my toddlers issues are coming from screen time. Unfortunately with me not having the just basic information on raising children they have been in front of a screen their whole life. Now it has only been educational things. So my almost 3yr old started reading at 1yr old, can count almost up to 100, knows some Spanish, and just basically knows everything already a kindergarten if not first grader would know, he’s also almost writing. His sister almost 2 speaks a large vocabulary can read some and count already, knows her colors and animals… but I started noticing my children NEVER sleep properly. They are consistently getting up through out the night and have VERY short nap times. Their tantrums are very long and extremely heightened, and they can’t really make eye contact or hold little conversations or communicate with me like other children, and aren’t ready for potty training. I’ve learned this is because of the screen time they get. I feel absolutely terrible. But they are SO young I can reverse this and help them get where they need to be. Videos like this are helping me SO much with coming up with exciting, creative ideas to get my kids off the screen and have fun, interactive playtime that benefits them wholly. It also helps me. With all the trauma I’ve been through it’s been very hard to connect with my children in a way that allows me also to feel comfortable. Between your video and 3 others I already have about 33 ideas I am going to implement. It’ll take about 4-6weeks slowly detoxing my toddlers from the screen, but I know we are all going to enjoy the activities and connection that’s about to come. Thank you so much for making a difference in our lives!! 😭🥰❤️🙌🏻
Sadly my toddler days are over. I would have definitely used these ideas. BTW, the saying is “case in point” not case and point. I hesitated mentioning this because I thought it could be one of your world famous typos. Lol. Love your channel. Excited to see you as a mama of two!!! 💙💖
These are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. If you don’t want to laminate paper for durability on the the color matching, you could use felt instead. The things you can cut out of felt are endless and it basically sticks to itself. For older kids, felt boards with story characters are amazing!!!
You always have such great ideas! I don't have a small toddler but my sister has young boys and I love the ideas you come up with. Miles is adorable and he's lucky to have such a great mom! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Certain people in my neighbourhood thought I was a bad parent because my kids were allowed to play in mud and there might be "germs". They were not playing in a toxic waste dump, when it rained they liked the mud.
There dumb af, They are kids that are still unaware of what they do, and just go along with there day tryna figure life out, And that letting them play in dirt helps build immune system
OK, so I thought I saw a baby bump when you were playing with Miles and the tube, the shirt with the ruched sides kind of gave it away! I went and checked your Instagram page and saw the news! CONGRATS on the pregnancy, and it's A GIRL!! How fun!
your son is so cute! I can't wait for my son to be that age he just turned 12mon and I'm really excited for all the fun activities I can teach him as he's getting bigger
I LOVE these activities and am obsessed with your channel!!! Your family is beautiful! I’m uploading my toddler activities video today - all different than yours, and I’m excited to try yours with my kids now too! God bless you, your adorable family, and all your viewers ❤️🙏🏾😘 xoxo Fernelle
Wished the play kits were more affordable, have a two year old grandson, delayed speech, just looking for ideas to help. So I think I will attempt to make them. Otherwise great video.
I love your videos so much, thank you. I have used several of your ideas with my grandson and he is really enjoying them. I am going to try the painter's tape making shapes on the floor this week, he will love it!
This video told me that i was a horrible mom 🤣🤣 you are way more creative with play than i ever was lol! You are an amazing mom! I just adore you. (My kids are 17, 12 and 9 now so they don’t play much anymore). But i still watched this whole video 🥰
OMG you are NOT a horrible mom! Doing fun activities does not equal good parenting. I'm sure your kids are loved and happy and safe and that matters more than anything
I will be able to modify some of these ideas. The other day while sharing food with a small group on the streets, there was a child about 2 years old. I'm thinking of painting a box white, add shaped holes. He can drop inside and retrieve things and draw on the box. Any other ideas, please help.
🤗Omg I just subscribed! You have amazing ideas that I will be implementing with my 2 year old. She gets Special instruction and OT and sometimes we struggle with finding out new activities for her to do. I'm excited to share these activities with her therapist and special instructor. When I watch you come up with these activities I say "Wow she must be a therapist with as much skill as she has"... Thank you so much for sharing you don't know how much you're helping parents 👍❤️
Stumbled on your channel today and love it! Can you please make a video with your favorite toddler toys or "activity items/materials", with links to specific products? (other than lovevery) Thanks!
Hi from a fellow CT mama! Thank you so much for this! My daughter Kara is the same age as Miles. I’ve been in such a rut with things, so these are perfect. Kara is definitely one to still put things in her mouth, so I appreciate that you included “edible” options. 😂 I also love that they are simple and use materials that are easily found around the house. After watching this today, we tried the ball in the tunnel idea. She loved it! Thank you! 💕
Great video that DIY moon sand is not even close to the stuff in the store I just got a kit and it doesn’t make that kind of mess. Target had the kit with the box some toys and a little sand for 12.99 on sale.
Can you do some for kids ages 3-5? I’ve used these for some time now. I’d love for you to do an updated one. I have a 3 and 5,as well as 10 but he’s in school a lot of the time. Love your videos!
My son is 2.5 and doesn’t talk with sentences mostly small words here and there. But let me tell you, he can name so many different animals and immigrate their sounds! How many ppl know what sound a zebra makes? My son does 😂😂 he’s got a ton of those animals you showed and the matching game is something we do on a daily

Excellent ideas! Punching holes in paper and picking up items with kitchen tongs are also great small motor activities.

All of these activities are great for their development. So good they can be adapted for different ages.

I didn’t know you made this kind of content. You’re really speaking my language now!
I'd bet you could probably do the same kind of memory game setup with DT items.
Yes! I need to start doing "school" with my almost 4 year old and my 1 year old needs to be entertained too🙃
OK, so I thought I saw a baby bump when you were playing with Miles and the tube, the shirt with the ruched sides kind of gave it away! I went and checked your Instagram page and saw the news! CONGRATS on the pregnancy, and it's A GIRL!! How fun!
