  • Dear friends
Let’s evaluate the last Ipoh hidden gems episode. Whilst the general audience liked my honest opinion of criticizing selected food but some felt that since my channel is showcasing great food, isn’t it a little contradictory to bring up the bad food. Perhaps you are right, but based on the understanding that nobody is perfect, granted, I criticized some vendors but on the other hand I was full of praise for the same vendor too. If I keep the same formula of giving top marks for everyone, the whole format can get predictable. Perhaps is it why my videos are getting less viewership these days. I thought the no-hold-back criticisms is one way to spice up my videos. It’s still work in progress, no worries, nothing is written stones. Not yet.
Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food, be it in Bandar Mahkota or otherwise. Thanks, and see you in the next.

Elmo, I appreciate the fact that you're not afraid to critique the food and give your honest opinion, rather than just saying everything is amazing. Your attention to detail and willingness to explore different cuisines and cultures make your reviews stand out from other food critics. It's also refreshing to see the effort you put into learning about the people and places behind the food.
Overall, I think your reviews are incredibly helpful for those who are looking for authentic and delicious food experiences. Your honesty and transparency about your experiences, including the use of MSG, is also appreciated. Keep up the great work, Elmo! You're one unique presenter.

Many food blogger ( incl yourself ) are beacon of inspiration and hope for promoting our Malaysian foodculture as a whole, showcasing Malaysia's gem to the world thru your UA-cam. You did a great job and your contribution truly deserve all the recognition and award ( if there's any ) as our country are way lack behind Thailand and Singapore in Food tourism. Your definitely leading the way now. Stay positive Elmo..do not bother those nay sayer. Like the saying goes... "Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power.” ~Shirley MacLaine.
      Cheers 🥂 bro.

One’s man meat is another man’s poison - very true indeed. Don’t worry - as long as this is done with an honest personal opinion , that is good enough. Great episode with so many good ‘tong sooi’ dessert and exclusive recipes from this Bandar Mahkota’s food haunting finds. The vegetarian restaurant illustrates good and original authentic vegetarian food. Thank you Elmo for showing us Bdr Mahkota’s side and also to your pal Gerry for doing some homework to spark this episode alive. With due respect, it is ethnic cuisine and Chinese cuisine. The full stop is to signify the end of a sentence and not continuation. Please read widely in English to note the correct grammar and sentence construction. Sorry I find such mistakes very glaring and off putting. I apologise unreservedly for correcting the sentence.

Hi Mr Lee, whatever you do or don't do, also people will talk. Please continue to speak your mind.
Always threading on eggshells and trying to please everyone to say the food is nice is not going to be good for you and your channel.
We do UA-cam as an outlet to freely (within reason) to express ourselves. If here also we need to put on a "show" then I see no reason to do UA-cam anymore.
I like the way you start the video by visiting the local wet market. I'm looking for a place to go at Bandar Mahkota Cheras and your video pop up.
Now you made me curious about Jalan Peel too.
Thanks for the English subtitles too, it was very helpful to a non-Cantonese speaker like myself.
Have a great day and keep producing videos Mr Lee!

Honest opinion is what draws me to your video . Keep it up as that is your great traits ! Food is a very subjective matter .. you nailed it by saying " one man's meat is another man's poison " . Anyway Bandar Mahkota is a place I have never been and honestly i dont intend to go anytime soon ... but its good to know there are great food places there. Thank you !

It is so true about long queue, it is not guaranteed taste great. I have encountered a few. While taking the food, I was wondering what am I missing that everyone is queuing for? Sometimes it is really mind-bloggling.
Food is subejctive, I am agreeable with Elmo only 70% but I did found some gems through Elmo.
Good Timing Food Village is on my boycott list because of the pricing. There are so many more food courts in Mahkota Cheras, except this 24 hours outlet.

Extremely right, Elmo! Taste is a very subjective thing as we are always emphasizing about. You are a UA-camr who share your experiences on foods, not a promoter for any eatery services, what's wrong to dare speaking your mind? Please go on with what you are doing without bothering too much about unnecessary cacophonies!
