Drink package on Royal. Buy it (because it could go up), and then watch for specials, cancel it, and buy it at the new price! I just redid ours on the Black Friday sale and saved 30%.
Haven't cruised since 2017 so this was very helpful to me even with being on approximately 10 cruises over the past 20 years. Sort of like being a newbie again. Retired now so I hope to begin the cruise journeys once again and must say, your video is by far, one of the best I've seen since all the YTs I've been watching lately on cruises. The more I watch, sometimes the more confusing it can get. I enjoyed the way you presented everything and will go back and watch your previous videos. Thank you!
When our kids got to middle school age we started booking 2 adjoining indoor cabins instead of a balcony cabin. So much nicer to have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms than to squeeze into 1 balcony cabin (balcony gave us more room when they were younger, best was nap time when we could sit outside instead of try to be super quiet during nap time).
#20 is the most important tip of this entire video. My brother needed emergency surgery, my parents had to stay behind to be with him. This was a planned family cruise to celebrate our nieces high school graduation. My husband, I & other family members continued on with our cruise. My parents had insurance & were fully refunded. Can’t stress enough how important the travel insurance is. We NEVER cruise without it. Thank you for these 20 tips!
I second the importance of travel insurance. The very first cruise I had booked was through Disney, and my dad died unexpectedly two weeks before the cruise. We were able to get a full refund. It would have been a real bummer to pay for the funerals cost and also losing out on thousands of dollars on a cruise HE was supposed to be on 😭
Thanks for putting together some of these really informative videos to help people get the most out of the travel experience. Incidentally, seeing the fruit of the work you are doing on health, keep going!
I find your tips n tricks much more unique and helpful than the dozens (and dozens) of videos I’ve watch since booking my March cruise a few weeks ago. You’re my favorite cruise channel!
yes! spot on for saying its a ship! yes it is! my nana would be mortified if anyone of us said boat as my papa had a boat that he took my mom and her siblings on when they were growing up. I always say ship.
Going on my third cruise February and i was inspired to cruise by you and Jason. I just stumbled on a video and i saw how much you all were having so I booked a cruise. Now I am on my 3rd lol thanks for what you do. Question: what travel insurance agency would you recommend?
You put in out there so perfectly honest and love your videos !! Yes my friend did an oops and forgot to put her phone back to airplane mode and AT&T shut her down I told her make sure you have your phone on airplane mode when leave to Sea!!!
Thank you for the tips. We renewed our passports earlier this year; looking forward to hopefully taking a cruise. We did a 3 day Carnival cruise during Christmas week of 2012. It was a party scene along with lots of families/kids on Christmas break.
Thank you for all the great information in this video. In future cruise videos, can you include tips for first-time cruisers that are traveling single?
I will try but I have never cruised solo myself. I have a TA that works with me who is a solo traveler and she handles all of our solo clients. She is a wealth of knowledge if you are interested!!
This is one of the best cruise tip videos I've seen for First Time cruisers! Thank you for all the important info. I do have one question. If I book a cruise myself to grab a good sale price, can I later get a travel agent to help me with details?
One more point on debit cards vs credit cards from a banker. Consumer fraud protections and transaction dispute timelines are much better with respect to credit cards.
Can you please share the link for the travel insurance you use I have not find anything under $700 and you mentioned $200 that’s a huge difference. Thanks
I got several emails the day before my carnival liberty cruise december 2024. That ship was absolutely horrible. I understand they had to change things because the ship before was 15 hours late getting into port due to a medical emergency. We couldn't board until 12:40 am and then we had to go sit through the muster station stuff. We were so tired.and frustrated. The ship was bad because it was so rocky and absolutely nothing to do. The places we went were good but it was dangerous to take a shower or even walk in the hallways without holding on. The elevators were not working and they didnt allow any lounge chairs outside (even on personal balconies) because they would scoot around everywhere and break other things due to the ship being so rocky. We had an interior cabin and was hoping to spend a lot of time around the pool but they had to drain the pool because the water wiutldnt stay in. It was a 14 day journey cruise and it was so bad, I am considering never booking with carnival again. Its an older ship and I am assuming they dont have stabilizers so we would feel every wave. My husband would always say ...well we just hit and killed another whale. Lol. Oh and food was horrible and we waited 3.5 hours in the main dining....they sent my.deswrt before i even had my main entre. 😮
What cruise are you referring that serve lobster? Because I look at the specialty dining menus of NCL and there is an additional $25 to your account if you order lobster tail.
I was always cheap and skipped the travel insurance...and then a friend had her appendix burst on ship and ended up having emergency surgery in Jamaica of all places. She was smart enought to have insurance (and a passport) but it was really a scary situation for her.
What I do no like about the drink packages is that most drink packages with alcohol are either all in or nothing. So light drinkers may over indulge to get their money's worth. I like MSC's multi tier drink packages Don't mess with the tips because one crewmember may have rubbed you wrong. You'll be messing over the crew cleaning your towels and linens, sorting the trash and food waste, and other unappreciated tasks.
Going on my first cruise on RC and I was surprised how the drink packages work. I am trying hard to limit my alcohol intake, but enjoy some drinking on vacation. I can either spend a king’s ransom on a package or buy my drinks one at a time. I wish they had a middle ground alcohol package for people like me. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes!
I wonderer about ship ecxursion. I have been only 2 times and first time, we had some beach ecxursion. When was time to leave, (this is my memory, not 100%true, if my memory gltiching) we come a several maybe some jeep or something. We didin't find our car (cars and drivers looks same to us xD) and then we saw one of car driving back, and it was our car and our driver :D They was leave without us. Just wonderer, if he wouldnt come back to pick up us, what would happend :D It was little stressfull, since it was our first time and i or my other half, we are not good at english (even that we have study it 6 years, but im never been good at school (and if someone wonder, no, english is not my language but its mandatory study grades 3-9).
WTF, what are you doing to look so great these days? I’ve been noticing!!! you’ve lost a lot of weight! You look fantastic! I don’t know how you did it, but the keto diet worked for me ( better than anything else anyway ). And I know Jason‘s been on that before. Not sure if he’s still doing it. Or are you doing the “o”. ? I haven’t tried that yet. I’m too afraid. Also, like you, I was cursed with a disproportionate, but very large upper chest. We have a similar body type. I’m going to board the Margaritaville Islander for my birthday cruise tomorrow, but I’m going on the icon in February. I love all your content and I’ve been following you guys since Covid when you guys were at the Margaritaville resort in Mexico.
Awe thank you!! I have been cutting calories and moving more. I actually even have a gym membership now!! We both do somewhat low carb but I can’t seem to give up bread!! Have a wonderful time on your cruise and happy birthday!!
NCL allows you to bring bottles of wine. HOWEVER, they charge more than the cost of most wines to bring it on! We found out the hard way! Loved the cruise but will never bring bottles on board again!

Thanks for all the points.
Amen to the Airplane mode

Very great tip to set alarm for airplane mode ty

Very good point!
I agree. Fraud protection is better with credit cards than debit cards. Our family has experience to back this up.
@@bryansipes3601 Sadly, I see far too many who have first hand experience with this.
Are you allowed to bring sodas back onto the ship after your visit to a port
@ as far as I know, only Disney allows this.

I've had lobster (included) on every Carnival cruise I've been on.

Did you have a host agency when you first started as a travel agent? If so, may I ask who that was?
How about using gift cards on your cruise card
3:52 what cruise line and ship is this with the grey interior?
What cruise ships are these humongous balcony rooms on the you show in most of your videos
Many ships have cabins with extended balconies. But most of the newer ships tend to have larger balcony space thant the older ones.

Yep I learned that a while back too. I found the cruise lines that include a drink package eliminate the carry on perk.
How much approximately is the gratuity fee if prepaid...Just a ball park figure--you never mention a amount
It will be the same prepaid as onboard. Cruise lines vary but you can estimate $15 per person, per day.
How much is Travel Insurance cost approximately?
This will depend on a lot of factors: Cost of the trip, age of the travelers, etc, So I can't really give an estimate. but it is 100% worth it!!
Why don't you just be truthful, we will always love and follow you xx
What do you mean??

@@WSAndersonI personally enjoyed her video.
Every cruise line should have an all Adult cruise ship or more than 1
That would be nice to try
Cruise lines are starting to limit how much food can be ordered because there's SO much food waste
Yes some are limiting to two entrees but we never order more than two.
