like how you discreetly tuck the satellite dish under the eaves - beautiful room - I know it isn't necessary to the info of the video but it would have been yummy to see a wide shot of the closet w/ all the doors open w/ all the units and rods in -

When you work on OLD 80 year old houses, you are working on a survivor. Lots of the poorly constructed older homes, are long gone, likely before you were 10 years old.

After I removed a bright green mold encrusted tar paper, between the two floors, I have NEVER put down any barrier between the finish floor, and the final floor. The mold hurt me, and took me out two weeks.

It might be my TV but I’m noticing some yellow skin pigmentation around your eyes and other areas. In the off chance it isn’t my TV I’d suggest you get a liver test as you may have jaundice. Love the show, I’ve been watching your how to’s for years but this new show format means my wife and I can watch together. Thanks and keep it up!

16:12 was the vapour barrier on the back of the drywall sealed? If not that just created a big air leak

Hi there, so I was wondering where is the best place to ask questions, which are not all relevant to this video, well more of less.
We moved all the way from QC to BC, bought a fixer upper house and I'm working on it, one project at a time, learning and transforming it.
Right now, we are redoing the master bedroom and I've come across several situations where I wonder what is the best go about but since I lack the experience, the answer isn't obvious to me--- reason of my being here! Well that and the awesomeness of your teachings through your content of course :)
Question 1 : I've removed the old vinyl flooring from the room and so it seems, in a small part of the room, they have glued compressed wood to the plywood. Is that a current practice? It feels like an awful idea, it is basically unremovable, it just breaks into little chunks and there is no way I'm spending hours breaking that thing apart one inch at a time. Best practice would be ? I was thinking to just lvl the rest of the room with an extra plywood sheet to make it even and proceed with engineered hardwood flooring on top. That an ok plan ?
Question 2 : I'm adding a wall into the room, it's a very long room and the wall is gonna serve as a divider between the open wardrobe and the rest of the bedroom, opened on both sides. Ultimately this wall is gonna be supporting thin bricks made for interior decor, cement boards, adhesive and a TV. It's not gonna be super thick, probably about 1' x 6' up to the ceiling which is on an angle (8' to 9'). I'm wondering if double studs on corners is enough to solidify it. I don't know yet if ceiling studs are parallel or perpendicular but I'll make sure my frame is attached either way. Are 2x4 the standard studs size for this or is there a better choice ?
Anyhow, thanks again and keep up the good work, it helps! Cheers from Crescent Valley, BC :)

11:40 i dont think its the workforce thats lazy. most tradesmen would love to do the best work they can do. corporations however, want to do everything at a bare minimum and streamline their profits, hence why we need laws to require minimum standards of safety. Sure in an ideal world the market would weed out bad actors, but in actuality all major corporations work together so nobody pulls so far ahead that anyone else needs to eat into profits to innovate
