I get much better service at Ulta. Sometimes Sephora employees refuse to acknowledge me or are willing to help me in depth with questions. As soon as I walk into an Ulta, I’m greeted with kindness and respect. And they carry both the higher end brands and drugstore brands that I like, in addition to hair, skin, and bath products.
Really? I feel like I get equally terrible service at both. Ulta rarely has enough staff so I get no help and Sephora employees act like I’m bothering them every time I ask for help.

If I’ve never been to a bad Ulta, that does not mean that I do not believe that they exist. I just wanted to share why I prefer one over the other, just like everyone else.
Funny cause I get the opposite. 😂 The Ulta's near me have the rudest employees. I've asked them to match my foundation to me and they kept telling me to go to the "cheap" side even though I had my eye on a few high end ones.
I find that with both stores the employees kinda look at you up and down if you're not wearing makeup. They lowkey treat you like someone's kid who accidentally wandered into the store
If I were the store staff (beauty advisor), I would very much likely to assist those women entering the store without make up. Coz most probably they need one and Ill offer them whatever is best for them.
I remember in 2008 when I worked at a Bath and Body Works and we were having our holiday meeting and my manager didn't even think it was worth talking about competition from the Ulta in our shopping center. She only worried about competition from Kohls!
In my experience, Ulta employees have always been super friendly and eager to help whereas Sephora employees can sometimes seem judgmental and annoyed by questions.
Claire Schoenfeld i heard that is how MAC employees used to be, cause MAC thought they were soo “exclusive”, they didn’t really offer much sales or anything. Now MAC is throwing sales in your face every month and begging you to shop there.

People are buying quality. They don’t see the value of buying 70$ mascara but will invest 90$ in a proven skin care system. Consumers are getting smarter.
Not really. If you buy makeup, Ulta and Sephora once were two very different destinations for makeup depending on what was wanted, meaning their customer base was different. Now they are more alike than different because the stores have gone after expanding their traditional, separated customer bases, which means they are now encroaching on what was not considered their territory, and that is story here.
Karolina Spiak I heard that they will ship there, but I think it is pricey for shipping though & there are no retail locations at all if you want to make returns. I hope one day they open up a store!
Fingers crossed that they do sooner than later and maintain the same rewards system. They do have a Canadian website with all products in CAD $ which is amazing and the ship time is very good. If they do the people will flock to it because Ulta's customer service is 10 x better than Sephora.
I use to work there in one of the locations near corporate.. ulta is still a baby in a sense it will take sometime they have alot going on within the store what people don't know about. Who knows it could happen this year!
We don't or never buy makeup products from only one brand. We mix it up. I don't care if that's a $10 or $50 concealer. If it works on my skin tone, I will stick to it.
Now I understand why sephora ws les puplar in the uk. Our major drugstore or parhamcy has always carried. Both drugstore and mass market brands in thier larger stores. And our department stores with high end makeup has always had variety and aremore common
Kuttiesmith03 yeah but it’s not the same. I want a whole store not a section you know? Maybe it will Be in time. I mean Primark is finally here in a few major US cities.
Ulta has the best rewards program!!! I love it . 😃 After YEARS of spending thousands of dollars at Sephora, Last year I became VIB rouge from spending too much in a calendar year and was able to grab the 100 dollar reward perk . Mind you , that gift card is only available 2 days a week at 9 am west coast time, while supplies for the day last . Sephora is just a cute store to shop in , if you’re in the mall . Their “reward program “ is highly insulting. I only shop at Sephora for things that I can’t get at Ulta .
YSLDIVA Same! I don’t even want I think about how much money I’ve spent at Sephora over the years-and for little reward. The cash back at Ulta at least helps me justify my addiction. I use for Sephora for the products I can’t get at Ulta
Andrea Baker So true!!! There’s nothing like your money paying you back , for all of the shopping. Getting an eyeshadow palette with points is the best . 🥳
They just started this reward perk sometime last year. I think it's only because , many people are like me and will only shop with them if they can't get it at Ulta. Sephora really thinks that they're doing us a huge favor with this meager 100 dollars. 2,500 points is 2,500 dollars!!! . Oh and you must be at the VIB Rouge status to even attempt to get the 100 perk. With Ulta, I have got and continue to get points that get me 100 dollar rewards. I tend to cash in my points at increments of 50 dollars . I must admit, no one needs to be Diamond status at Ulta or anywhere!!! Still, if you are going to spend, Ulta always pays you back. :)
I purchase higher end makeup (Fenty, MAC, Lancome) because lower end brands (Maybelline, AVON, Loreal) give me horrific allergic reactions. Technically they are not allergens but chemicals but I react all the same. My mother is a tried and true clinique girl like her mother and grandmother before her. Millennials are really some of the first to switch it up and buy what they like and try new things. I go to sephora for makeup and skincare and ulta for high end hair products and fun silly things like face masks or sun screen. I don't wear a ton of makeup but focus primarily on having good skin so I don't need foundation or concealer under my eyes. Mascara and eye brow gel are what I use most days, maybe a little lip tint. Full face for special occasions.
Doesn’t look like a disposable tester. They have disposable applicators which that didn’t look like. And even then the product itself is still dirty. 🤢
What gets me is that people don't even care how disgusting those testers are, they are breeding grounds for bacteria. Both stores have disposable eyeshadow wands, eyeshadow applicators and things to apply lipstick, but people are too lazy to use them. Yuck!!!
Ulta sucks when it comes to educated beauty advicers. Sephora and Department stores is where to go if you have questions and want a sample before you buy.
I used to work as a “beauty advisor” at Ulta and I do agree with you. We were mainly trained to work the floor more than actually advising about the products no real knowledge at all , I would just wing it😂 I do not recommend getting real makeup advice from there
All I know is I got kicked out of a Sephora because I was looking at highlighters and their manager though I was taking too long and told me that if I’m not buying anything that I need to leave, then next thing I knew she was motioning me towards the exit
In Canada we only have Sephora, department stores, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Would love to see what Ulta is like but I think Shoppers would try to push them out.
I shop at Sephora because you can return something that didn’t work for you but at shoppers or the bay you’re stuck with it. If Sephora had a better rewards program and sales like ulta we wouldn’t need an ulta and it would go out of business everywhere 😪 The thing is they never do it right in Canada like the Canadian targets were trash compared to the American ones. Why go to a target when even a Walmart is better
Sephora is better for returns. Shoppers will sometimes but it's not guaranteed. I shop there for exclusive brands but I still shop at Sephora but if Ulta was here I would probably switch.
I hate the way Both Ulta & Sephora sales people constantly ask ‘Do you need any help’ it was soooo annoying’ On a recent Ulta shopping trip, to have literally been asked that a dozen times in the space of 20 minutes. I couldn’t wait to exit the store!
As someone who has always had problematic skin, and values quality over price. Sephora has helped me accomplish perfect skin without a dermatologist. Everything about Sephora is better than Ulta to me. Even the website. I go on the website I can see people’s selfies wearing the makeup and skincare I’m looking at. There’s about 90% of the time a couple reviews already. I can go to the store and get free samples before I make a purchase. Plus I get points which if I save up can get me anything from a $100 gift card, Levi Jean jacket, tickets to private events, and full size products. Plus they have sales and the overall experience just feels special. I used to shop at Ulta but I’ve never regret switching. Ulta is like the quick fix kind of place, when you need something to just do the job on a budget. Sephora is the place where you’ll really be blown away at the performance of products.
I remember when ULTA’s around me were always a mess - stuff everywhere and cluttered. The store I went to shut down and I wasn’t surprised - the sales people acted like I was a hassle if I had ONE question. Definitely rude.Thankfully they’ve changed, or that store was not the “norm”.
With the greater focus on mass market brands at Ulta, I'm curious whether that could impact sales at chain drugstores at all. And whether Sephora's cosmetics business competes with department stores. Another factor that they didn't mention here is the differences between Ulta's and Sephora's rewards programs. You earn points at both stores depending on what you spend. At Ulta, you tend to earn discounts with points; at Sephora you tend to get free products. For me personally, I tend to prefer Sephora because (at least for stores near me) the stores are well staffed and energetic, and in my opinion they are less overwhelming to shop because the displays are more compact. Ulta stores to me feel vast and endless, and the lighting and setup feels like you could be in a Walgreens or a Kroger/Fred Meyer. When I buy the mid-range mass brands, I tend to just do it when I'm already at a store for groceries. But if I have a high-end product in mind I will go to a Sephora store or their website almost every time. This is a totally subjective view but I disagree with another poster who feels Sephora stores are outdated; To me they seem much more current whereas Ulta seems... Maybe not outdated but very plain. Sephora has more distinct branding. Edit: And of course they're pricey; they sell luxury brands almost exclusively (aside from their own name brand which is pretty affordable). Look up the brands they do have in common (Urban Decay for example) and you'll see they're virtually identical in price between the stores. Prices of other brands at Sephora and elsewhere but *not* at Ulta will also usually be the same between Sephora and the elsewhere place (barring some kind of sale, at either).
I don't think so. Ulta always chargers more for their drug store brands. I get my drugstore brands at Walmart and Target. CVS and Walgreens often have sales ans bogo specials that make their prices cheaper than Ulta.
Rack City Duh I almost always get my drugstore cosmetics at CVS. They have a pretty good rewards system and sales with the extra care card. I’m always looking for BOGO deals and purchasing a certain amount you can get coupons for $3-10 off your next purchase on anything in the store!
Ulta is SO much better! You can go there with $50 and buy multiple things whereas with Sephora, you can only get two things max, if you’re lucky. Plus, their ultamate rewards program is AMAZING. I just bought two Mac paint pots for $1.62!
I have to be honest: I LOVE the fact that we’ve embraced so many new things: makeup as gender neutral, increased shade ranges & more inclusivity. Add to that an embrace of a more natural look, embracing the gray & looking for products with beneficial, environmentally-friendly ingredients. I think newer generations think of beauty so differently than our parents & grandparents did, & it’s awesome!
Ulta wins for me. Just went yesterday, redeemed 1000 points, got $50 off my purchase, used the 20% coupon and ended up spending $40 out of pocket for $100 worth of products 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I used to shop more at Sephora, when shipping was faster. Also, their search filters are better. Now I buy K Beauty, mainly from sites that curate and sell a variety of brands, like Sokoglam, Glow Recipe, and Peach & Lily - Korean quality, American customer service. 👍🏼
Can they adapt to a more natural trend? Yes, of course: they're not selling just make-up but skincare too. Looking "natural" requires great skin which few are blessed with so skincare sales go up.
I like both. Sephora let's you have 100 million samples and have luxury brands like Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford. but ultas rewards are better plus they have mac. But I don't really like to go there for my mass market makeup because they are usually a lot more expensive there.
I am in Esthetician at Ulta, and I absolutely love it! Everyone that works at my store is professional and when it comes to hair and skin care services, you can get the very best service at Ulta!
No competition in my mind. I love both stores and they are not interchangeable to me. There are things I buy at one that I definitely can not get at the other. Both stores have a place in my heart.
I honestly just go to Ulta for my Mario Badescu spray & that’s like twice a year. Ulta for me feels cheap- the layout & vibe. I may not be the richest but if I’m spending $30 on my mascara I want a cute store & display. if I buy drugstore makeup I go to Target- with there recent remodel in the makeup section it’s feels nice to shop @ Target now. i’m not the type to buy medium price makeup- for me I either buy $6 or $30 marcará I don’t feel attracted to NYX or other brands like that. I love Sephora lol
I love Ulta, when I walk in I don’t feel like I’m being hounded like I would at Sephora. Their refund and return process is so much easier. Their reward points are great. And they have countless of skin care products ranging in prices and brands !
I buy from both places both in store and online. Ulta definitely wins in the rewards department. I only do Sephora for brands like Fenty and Hourglass. Also I will go to Walmart for drugstore brands. Many of those brands are improving in quality but everyone is raising prices these days even elf and wet n wild!
Fenty Beauty is under LVMH. So calling sephora bringing new popular brand like Fenty is not really accurate. How is it “new” if both are under the same parent company. It just made business sense for fenty to launch at sephora too
I didn’t start wearing makeup until I started working at Ulta in 2017, and I’m already over it! The “natural” look gives us the ability to really layer on the skincare. I’m using the 12-step skincare routine now & my skin looks better than ever. ( Though eating healthy & working out are the only two things that make me look truly attractive. )
And this is why I love working for Ulta! We cater to every woman and man I feel that our store is taking over. I mean Sephora may have certain brands that we don’t carry but I understand why that is and you never know if we become the one on top who knows if those brands will come over to our side of the grass🥰
I clearly recall shopping at a Sephora store in the below-ground shopping mall in the old World Trade Center in NYC in the early 1980s. They sure did expand their presence later but their first store was far earlier than the 1998 year reported here. As for the issue of continued sales, I would argue that both stores are falling prey to the new "KonMari" ethos of simplicity and decluttering. Women are becoming uneasy with their spends at these stores and are cutting back.
I'm surprised the video didn't mention the reward system. I used to be a loyal Sephora customer until an Ulta came near me. Not only did they carry less expensive brands but you also could get 20% off coupons on prestige brands a few times a year, and money off your purchase with rewards. Sephora can keep their beauty insider samples. I do 90% of my shopping at Ulta now.
In my country, Sephora Indonesia is only sold the selected of its exclusive brands, but the store across my country also sells my country's local brand like Esqa, Ziniva, Polka, Val by Valerie Thomas and Juara. And also features Klara Cosmetics from Australia, Korea's Clio Professional, France's Phyto Haircare, Furutasse, Apot Care & Novexpert. But in my country, there some of its exclusive brands that added and discontinued.
Very interesting video. ♡♡ I don't use make up, but I always wondered what was the difference between stores. This was a good sumary for people like me.
I rarely ever shop at ulta or any cosmetic store. But if u wanna save money of course add manufactured coupons with maybe ultas coupons. I try my best to get sunday newspaper at dollartree and it runs out super fast.
If you only shop at Sephora then girrrrrrl (or boy!) YOU GOT MONEY! I would shop only at Sephora if I was rich but ulta works perfectly fine for me lol
To simply put it, you get a point for every dollar you spend at Ulta. When you hit 100 points, you earn $3 to apply on your purchase. It goes up from there. If you’re a premium or diamond member, you get 1.25 points for every dollar you spend.
This is true, luxury used to only be in department stores and my aunt was an Estée Lauder lady (I’d always get the free bag and samples) and my mom and aunt were Lancome. And I remember the drugstore having mediocre makeup. Things have changed dramatically. I Iike Sephora and Ulta equally. They both have their strong points.
I will never go to an ulta again. I have stopped going there after going there a few times. I like to buy the drugstore brands and they discriminate customers based on which section you are shopping. I had employees keep walking past me when I tried to ask them question about the product and after being persistent they answered while still walking away. This happened every time. They keep the drugstore stuff in the lower level floor and have that understanding that anyone who shops there is on their own. They still like to keep their image of selling drugstore brands but they openly discriminate.
Sephora customer service is bad. It's not about the people but about the attitude sephora carries. As if they are the only cosmetic shops. Sadly it is true in my place.
@@vaishnavitandra3294 they don't look at you like you're stealing unless you do something suspicious. I go to Ulta for hair care products and tools and I go to Sephora for makeup. When I think of hair I think of Sephora and when I think of Ulta I think of hair. 💋❤️
I go to both. If I’m looking luxury brands like Viseart, Natasha Denona, Fenty, Marc Jacobs, Hourglass, or Milk, definitely Sephora. Drugstore is Ulta, because of the rewards. Midrange stuff like Urban Decay, ABH, Too Faced, Becca, Stila, or Smashbox, I could go either way. I also like Ulta’s in-house makeup brand, especially their matte eyeshadow primer. I wear makeup from brands of all price ranges.
I’m a fan of skincare and fragrance. I still love Sephora more, also like the environment of Sephora more. Plus I heard that if you’re not getting the sale at ultra, some of their products are overpriced to begin with.
I used to be a Sephora girl but now I prefer Ulta. Too many judgemental/prejudice experiences at Sephora. I’m glad Ulta has stepped their game up! I always feel welcomed there.
Am I the only one who prefers Sephora over Ulta? 🤷🏻♀️ I personally trust the brands in Sephora more than Ulta. There’s sooo many brands inside Ulta and it’s overwhelming for me. And Sephora has a great rewards system imo, for ever dollar you spend at Sephora it’s equal to 1 point. And they have so many different types of rewards too, like use 800 points to have a tree planted. And free unlimited shipping when you’re a Rouge! At Ulta you’d have to spend 300$ to get 3$ off, doesn’t make sense to me. Some people have commented that the girls at Sephora are rude or ignore you. I’ve never experienced that, they’re always super nice, help and more than ready to chat about makeup. I’m always gonna prefer Sephora to Ulta 🥰
It makes sense that makeup would still be doing well in in store sales, because people really want to try out makeup before they buy it and don’t like the hassle of a mail return.
I favor Sephora over Ulta. Ulta has a point system that turns into money that you can later apply to purchases. But I think it's only worth it if you are a makeup junkie as opposed to a casual shopper like myself. I may spend about $150 a year on average in cosmetics, mostly replenishing products and not actually acquiring new ones. As a result, the Ulta point system doesn't excite me and has no value to me. I think I enjoy the immediate sensation of reward I feel when I shop at Sephora (I do 99% of my shopping online): Picking my samples and additional trial size products that excite me from the Beauty Bazaar. Even when I ordered one thing, I get all sorts of little goodies, and that just makes my day. Plus, I like the set up and look of their website better, it has the same presence as their stores. I don't like the Ulta website, it's not as fluid and inviting. I guess I am the type of shopper that is all about "the experience".
I'm in Canada praying for an ULTA to open up so I can shop in store an not just online. Sephora used to be the go to but I catch myself dreading to go in cause you barely get acknowledged when you do. The struggle to get help or even ask a simple question at sephora is real but Ulta has definitely filled the void.
I go to both Sephora and Ulta depending on what I'm looking for. I like Sephora because it's like going to a candy store. I usually go there on weekdays because it's less crowded therefore I'll get help easily and the ladies who help me have been very helpful and easy to chat with.

I dont feel comfortable going into sephora.
Is it just me?
Idk I get this vibe when I go in there
G•Dèsireè _729 I think Ik what you mean...

Ya like I'm not welcomed
G•Dèsireè _729 Ik what you mean. But at my Sephora, a lot of employees are kinda standoffish but to everyone.
@@user-lu4xp7iv8c depends on the employees I guess lol.
I know right. I get followed around like a thief and get looked at like I'm not gonna buy. Sephora is most def sending out that bad vibe!
Ulta needs to get their asses to Canada. Then I can see and choose which one is better.
Addy 10000 thumbs up
I’ve been to ULTA many times on US trips. Some of their sales are great but they’re very mass market.
Wow. Sounds good to have the money.
Now I understand why sephora ws les puplar in the uk. Our major drugstore or parhamcy has always carried. Both drugstore and mass market brands in thier larger stores. And our department stores with high end makeup has always had variety and aremore common
right Boots has everything
Wish we had Boots here
That’s similar to Canada but Sephora still does well because it’s all under one roof.
48mavemiss2 it is sold in Target!!
Kuttiesmith03 yeah but it’s not the same. I want a whole store not a section you know? Maybe it will
Be in time. I mean Primark is finally here in a few major US cities.
I shop at both, but I'm more likely to look at Ulta before I look at Sephora...
Fercandy Justo me too!!!! I rather go to Ulta over Sephora
Ulta: For their reward system & coupons.
Also, I'm treated better.
soccerchick9841 Ulta has less staff to help me, I don’t like when I can’t find assistance when needed. I rather Sephora.
lukystarrk4life No staff ever help me or ask if i need anything. Lmfao.
Hmmm I never got a $100 reward. Wonder how long that lasted?
Rachel Rae' I did but they weren’t always available and they cost 2500 points! So $2500 for $100 reward 😾
ULTA is the best.
I love getting my hair done there.

They do hair? I didnt know that

Rita Ferreira I hope ulta! Sephora already has milk makeup
Or The Ordinary!
🤣🤣🤣
Sephora or Ulta...just makeup your mind. LoL 😘💄💋
I love Sephora but it can eat my whole paycheck, Ulta has been my new love and it lets me keep most of my paycheck
FIRSTLY, who the hell puts tester lipstick on their lips omg 😬 that intro just made me cringe the whole video
She probably wiped it off with a napkin beforehand
Right?!?!
@@trioxlight274 that doesnt make it less dirty??
Doesn’t look like a disposable tester. They have disposable applicators which that didn’t look like. And even then the product itself is still dirty. 🤢
What gets me is that people don't even care how disgusting those testers are, they are breeding grounds for bacteria. Both stores have disposable eyeshadow wands, eyeshadow applicators and things to apply lipstick, but people are too lazy to use them. Yuck!!!
Ulta sucks when it comes to educated beauty advicers. Sephora and Department stores is where to go if you have questions and want a sample before you buy.
I dont trust any advisor lol they're clueless when it comes to dark skin individuals.
Giselle Springer not only dark skin....light skin as well!
@@michellebarron1987 lol all skin
Not true
I used to work as a “beauty advisor” at Ulta and I do agree with you. We were mainly trained to work the floor more than actually advising about the products no real knowledge at all , I would just wing it😂 I do not recommend getting real makeup advice from there
I love going to Ulta. Especially because they ALWAYS have a coupon.
I’ve heard shoppers drug mart is similar to ulta! 😊
I shop at Sephora because you can return something that didn’t work for you but at shoppers or the bay you’re stuck with it. If Sephora had a better rewards program and sales like ulta we wouldn’t need an ulta and it would go out of business everywhere 😪
The thing is they never do it right in Canada like the Canadian targets were trash compared to the American ones. Why go to a target when even a Walmart is better
Sephora is better for returns. Shoppers will sometimes but it's not guaranteed. I shop there for exclusive brands but I still shop at Sephora but if Ulta was here I would probably switch.
I hate the way Both Ulta & Sephora sales people constantly ask ‘Do you need any help’ it was soooo annoying’
On a recent Ulta shopping trip, to have literally been asked that a dozen times in the space of 20 minutes. I couldn’t wait to exit the store!
Molly Ho BiteMe it’s a job requirement to greet a customer within 30 seconds to a minute
@@ct5951 it depends, there's sometimes amazing deals at Ulta and their rewards program it's unbeatable, makes it worth it if you like make up :)
Rack City Duh I almost always get my drugstore cosmetics at CVS. They have a pretty good rewards system and sales with the extra care card. I’m always looking for BOGO deals and purchasing a certain amount you can get coupons for $3-10 off your next purchase on anything in the store!
Ulta is so much better. I can get the best of both worlds when it comes to drugstore and high end products.
Ulta for the win 1000X
I used to shop more at Sephora, when shipping was faster. Also, their search filters are better. Now I buy K Beauty, mainly from sites that curate and sell a variety of brands, like Sokoglam, Glow Recipe, and Peach & Lily - Korean quality, American customer service. 👍🏼
Hey Poemi10304, Ulta is starting to carry some great Korean skin care brands like Mamonde and COSRX. I was surprised when I walked in. Pretty awesome.
Also I'm addicted to Sokoglam
What’s the best site for Korean beauty products?

#teamULTA ! You get the best of both worlds prestige and drugstore !! And they have a better rewards program !!!!
Can we just stop and appreciate the lady at 1:07 doing her lipstick with a cigarette on her lip 💄
Talent!
Can they adapt to a more natural trend? Yes, of course: they're not selling just make-up but skincare too. Looking "natural" requires great skin which few are blessed with so skincare sales go up.
Omg the cigarette lipstick lady lolol
I like both. Sephora let's you have 100 million samples and have luxury brands like Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford. but ultas rewards are better plus they have mac. But I don't really like to go there for my mass market makeup because they are usually a lot more expensive there.
People at ulta are nicer lol
I am in Esthetician at Ulta, and I absolutely love it! Everyone that works at my store is professional and when it comes to hair and skin care services, you can get the very best service at Ulta!
Fenty and Sephora are LVMH companies. Fenty will definitely be added to Sephora’s shelves.
I'm a guy, and I'm starting to work with makeup...Ulta seems nicer employees and a better vibe
Ultas rewards is the reason I hardly go into Sephora anymore! 🙃
Sephora for high end skincare and Ulta for affordable makeup !
No competition in my mind. I love both stores and they are not interchangeable to me. There are things I buy at one that I definitely can not get at the other. Both stores have a place in my heart.
Agreed
It's so weird that sephora has The Ordinary now but not ulta
Probably an exclusive deal they worked out.
@MaryRyon83 I know! I wish ulta carried The ordinary and more K beauty brands. I could use all my points on those.
I am excited about The Ordinary in stores now. 😍
Ulta has the Ordinary.
I love Ulta I have one buy my house and I can get my wet in wild and my Too faced at the same time lol
I'll always be a Sephora girl, ulta is so disapointing because u can't purchase with an internacional credit card!
1:58 the lady with the periwinkle hair is GORGEOUS I love her hair!
I love how they always close off the videos with a look at the future of these industries.
It just made business sense for fenty to launch at sephora too
Ulta! I live there! In one year I spent over $1000 and earned almost $70 in rewards. I even buy my shampoo and hair care products there.
I didn’t start wearing makeup until I started working at Ulta in 2017, and I’m already over it! The “natural” look gives us the ability to really layer on the skincare. I’m using the 12-step skincare routine now & my skin looks better than ever. ( Though eating healthy & working out are the only two things that make me look truly attractive. )
Ulta needs to offer international shipping !
I don't use make up, but I always wondered what was the difference between stores.
This was a good sumary for people like me.
I rarely ever shop at ulta or any cosmetic store. But if u wanna save money of course add manufactured coupons with maybe ultas coupons. I try my best to get sunday newspaper at dollartree and it runs out super fast.
Ulta appeals to more people. I usually never walk into sephora because it looks outdated and the prices are outrageous.
Sephora looks outdated? And ULTA dosen't?? Wow. Too me Ulta feels like a random drugstore while Sephora feels like a nice Department Store.
patr70 same lol. Sephora is prettier to me
Hot Stock Girl totally disagree. Ulta looks and feels cheap, Sephora doesn’t
I agree! And Sephora is so much smaller. At least where I live.
They could be smart and merge and go global. The names sound good together either way you put them.
If you only shop at Sephora then girrrrrrl (or boy!) YOU GOT MONEY! I would shop only at Sephora if I was rich but ulta works perfectly fine for me lol
Who else peeped Alissa?!😍😭
the feeling at each store is different. ulta is more relatable. sephora is like the mean girl in high school lmao
i love ulta sooooo much more
To simply put it, you get a point for every dollar you spend at Ulta.
They make me feel very uncomfortable to return something. And they look at u walking around like ur about to steal something
@@vaishnavitandra3294 they don't look at you like you're stealing unless you do something suspicious. It's stupid to think that ANY retailer isn't keeping a close eye on their customers because it's just a fact that people steal everyday. Watch your body language next time and maybe you won't get looked at weird.
Idk about sephora but you can return items at ulta if its used as long as there is a barcode or the box which it came from
I live at ULTA but have to go to Sephora for my Fenty! Ulta for the win though!
I’m a fan of skincare and fragrance. I still love Sephora more, also like the environment of Sephora more. Plus I heard that if you’re not getting the sale at ultra, some of their products are overpriced to begin with.
TigerMonthlyHits i believe only mass market products are overpriced
The music in this video is AWESOME!
I’m waiting for a ultra type of store in Singapore. Is there a similar kind of (Ulta) store in Australia?
I went to Paris in October and the Sephora on the Champs Elysees and it was pretty big and had so much more stuff than American stores!
It sucks that there are no Ultas where I live and the ladies at Sephora can be little unwelcoming sometimes. 😔
In South Africa we still do drugstore vs department stores. We don’t have Sephora or Ulta or anything similar.
There's been a Sephora in my state for many many years and there no indicator on the map around 2:02
I go to both Sephora and Ulta depending on what I'm looking for. I like Sephora because it's like going to a candy store. I usually go there on weekdays because it's less crowded therefore I'll get help easily and the ladies who help me have been very helpful and easy to chat with.
my first visit to a Sephora. .'99..Paris...Amazing! Ulta's have the hair stylist in store for a bit of differentiation.... what you find in each...
It’s 2019 and skincare is the new makeup - if you already got good skin, having lots of expensive products aren’t that necessary anymore.
