i see how u guys are , a while back on the welding forums, i thought jim colt said no we do not have any plans for an xp 45.. lol , guess we blew that deal.. im glad i waited ,, great products,, just wish the price was a little more affordable for an average hobby shop guy like myself ,thanks for video, regards scn
I'm getting interested in this for gouging, the spot weld removal was ok but I want to see more in gouging mode. I know plasma is great for cutting, marking steel is cool, but in my world where the rubber meets the road, it's the ability of taking steel apart is the most important function. Show more of two pieces of plate steel that's been welded together be taken apart, like a 1/4" fillet weld 6" long.....
I have a few questions?First is the marking consumables different than the fine cut?Or are these a gouging consumable that is being used? Also are there setting for marking in the 45xp book?Just wondering cuz it seems you would wanna run maybe a 50ms pierce delay and running at just the right height and speed would be key
One other question i have is do you have a marking feature on any of the larger cutters or just the 45xp?If not do you have plans to put it on say the pm65 or pm85?
No, marking is a new feature on the Powermax45 XP -- it was not available on the Powermax45. You can learn more about the new marking feature here: www.hypertherm.com/en-US/learn/applications/marking/metal-marking/
Hey Alvaro, Yeah, it's loud in the demo lab. Sorry about that. Shooting the video for Facebook Live requires a simple set (iPhone) and the sound is not great. We will work on making it better for the next one.
Ok Jim Colt, your posts all over the interwebs finally got to me......I am ordering mine at the end of this month.

Hypertherm makes a extended tip for gouging, I use the extended tip to wash away welds and metal in heavy equipment repair.
Any plans for a 65XP?
