Dude thank you! I just searched for days trying to find out how to transfer my best performing PPE ads into a sales ad without losing my likes, comments, and shares. You covered it. Awesome!
Glad i could help!
Does the "winning ad" need to be making sales to be considered a winner?
Yes
Thanks! Very insightful video.
Welcome!
Hi Nik, here from italy, your content is literally the bomb, the transparency you bring to your videos I rarely see out there. You and Charley are my mentors, love you!!!
If I may ask, do you ever use you in your agency, manual bid ?
Thank you very much for the support! Always use automatic bids
Hey Nick, do you have any info on how you would go about testing different prices for a product on Shopify?
We just change the price and record the date we did it, run it for a few days, and see what happens, then change it back or leave it
@@NickTheriot Cool, no fancy a/b testing or anything like that?
@@cascy004 Not at all
14:00 Sounded personal 😅😆 cheers for the video though, been out of the game a couple years and trying to get myself refreshed 👏
Very, gotta fire clients that doesn;'t give us what we need to make them more money
@@NickTheriot Sounds right 👍
What timeframe that you use to optimize on the ad level of main adset ? like week-over-week trend analysis or bi-weekly analysis.
Last 7 days and 30 days
@@NickTheriot thank you nick
Hey, thank you for this video. Why does it make sense to put the winning ad set and the testing ad set in the same CBO campaign? Will FB not allocate the budget towards the winning ad set and not give others a chance? Can we make a separate campaign for winners?
Others will get a chance if they're superior ads to your winners
Why has KPI "importance" phased out for just adspend and cpa?
Are those metrics not important when you're doing broad?
Are they still relevant when doing interest targeting?
I'm just focused on what's most important to me. Other metrics just simply don't give me the important data I need to make decisions on
Why not mix videos with images in the DCT test and not more than 3 creatives and 2 text?
i usually max it out lol
Too many variables. Secondly it's due to us creating one concept pr dct. Each dct gets a concept. When we create a concept we do 3 videos or 3 photos for it due to the necessary assets we need to prep for to create.
@@NickTheriot interesting, is that a set rule or just in general?
I assume at bigger budgets, you can get away with more variables into play
New school of thinking for sure 👍🏻
Hey Nick. I have been doing dropshipping and tested around 7 products and lost money on all of them. But people say keep testing, i was 30k in debt and then got rich out of the winner product. I dont know mannnn. Can you make a video and tell you opinion about it, also give us the better way of doing it
What would you like my opinion on specifically?
@@NickTheriot dropshipping, and whats the better way of doing it. How to find a good product to sell and customise it.
Can you explain why is it not worth to set budget low for testing? If lets say my ad budget was 20 bucks and sold 3 products, then when I up the budget to 200 bucks, I should sell around 30 products, right? So why putting 3 grand for TESTING?
No, the more you spend the more pressure it puts on the algo to find customers. Likely the creatives you have at $20 a day will not get you to $200 a day and you need to find new winners
Bear in mind the learning phase too. You need to spend more to have more conversions. That's what I've been noticing recently though.
30 days to test? What if the product is shown to work?
Are you moving the winning post ID into the "MAIN" adset or in a separate SCALE camapign?
If you start getting results out the door with the product, start scaling. Winning post id goes into the main adset in the same campaign.
Could you make a video on how you set up campaigns for Holidays & Sales, would be helpful with Mother's Day coming up soon.
I just make a new adset in my cbo campaign. I do a regular adset and load it with 6-9 promo ads. Broad targeting as well
@@NickTheriot If the promo ads don't spend enough do you pull them out into their own CBO?
Do you recommend testing vertical format first?
No
Appreciate this video bro 🙏🏼 I've been more of a typical dropshipper but I'm trying to change my mindset and focus based on your videos. Also Breakthrough Advertising was a good read and helped a lot.
Keep up the work!
Do you use Advantage+ audience. And if not, do you notice a big difference in performance compared to original audience options?
I still do regular
Hi Nick, what if I want to test different offer, for example a bundle, which has a different URL, thus requires a different ad.
Shall I add that ad to the same campaign or shall I create a new campaign and leave both on until I find the winner?
Thanks. By the way, it seems that I'm finally starting to get consistent results on Facebook by using your approach. And using $50 daily budget instead of $20, seems to have a good impact on that.
Thank you!
Use convert.com
@@NickTheriot thanks, but for whom can only afford $50 daily budget for Facebook, that site costs $399, so it's not suitable 😅.
But thanks anyway.
Hi Nick, thanks a lot for this video. Been learning a lot with this, especially on DCT. Only thing I am not getting is what exactly is in your main ad set at the start?
Welcome! Nothing in the start as I have no winning ads
@@NickTheriot ohhh finally get it! You only input the winning dct every 3 days! Thanks man, will be watching every second of your content going forward!
Thank you for all your video.
I would like to ask, if the main ad set spending 80% of the budget, and make it hard to test new creative, bc they didn’t get the spend. Try it so many times.
That’s the whole point, Facebook is trying to tell you that your new ads are not quality assets. It makes it easier to test creatives because now I listen to what works at scale vs. low budget testing.
@@NickTheriot thank you for your patient reply.
So the problem I face using your method is: we test new ad on CBO, and ABO. ABO got a lot more sales than the CBO, bc it spend money, and the "winning ads" in the main ad set in CBO, they sure get more spend, but not as much sales as ABO.
I am wondering what do you think about this situation?
@@doraadventurer9933 abo does have the capability for quick wins but you usually have to create more or find new audiences. This CBO/broad strategy aim to give more long term stability
Hey Nick, great video. Keep seeing more and more mediabuyers getting into the DCT testing. And I like this setup. I do have some struggles with static ads tho. I like to have a 1x1 on feed and 9x16 on stories as 1x1's on stories just are ugly and a lot of clients don't want them on there. How do you deal with that with DCT? I know that for video you can easily crop the 9x16 on 4x5 feed, but for statics it's more complicated.
I just don't worry about it, if stories is my highest spending placement and making a significant impact in revenue, i'll just create a dct specific for stories
@@NickTheriot Thanks! But you do use 1x1 for static right?
@@miloverhoeven9297 Correct
What are the best lookalike audiences to make for sales?
I don’t use lookalike audiences, broad targeting only
please does it work if i put in one adset with dinamic creatives different three type of shoes to test them even though they don't look the same ,just to test them which one preformes better ?
Yes
thank you sm, I would love to know which one is better dainamic creative or normal ads i just have small budget and i can't do them both please i would love to hear it from you which one preforce better!@@NickTheriot
I do both and they each have their own place, ua-cam.com/video/RdNw_p793w0/v-deo.html
i realized that i have for each pair of shoes a different link and dynamic creative does not allow me to put more than one link how can i test in that case ?
@@NickTheriot
is it possible to create an ad for testing that is visible only to the creator? to simulate the user interaction. Thanks
Preview facebook ad in news feed under ad setting
does copying the post ID via clicking the time stamp in the dynamic creative still work?
Yes!
Thanks for the insight Nick. I keep getting delayed attribution for my CBO campaigns. Is there anything I can do to get real time info on my ads?
Get on triple whale (for shopify) or hyros for anything else
Hey Nick do you tick the Multi-advertiser ads (recommended) or switch that off on the ad level?
I leave it on
Would you keep up the 30 days of testing if there are no sales? Thank you.
Depends on # of ad concepts i've tested and have i exhausted out all my options of testing?
Hey Nick, do you still keep all DCTs running for 3 days regardless of performance? Or would you cut them after 1 day if they performed horribly?
Depends on horribly, if they spend 1x my aov within 1 day, then yes I would turn it off.
Hey Nick - do you keep loading up your MAIN adset with winning ads only? So it will be ok to have like 10+ winners in there over period of time?
Yepp!
hey nick, does this apply also for multiple products testing (fashion niche for example) ?
Yes
Mine will be a new business for candles, wax melts, etc should it really be that long? I have invested 4,000 in supplies but how should I actually get started 🤣
Just launch, don't wait.
Here's a video starting an account from scratch ua-cam.com/video/xtC8Oiu01aU/v-deo.html
Hey Nick, once my test ads have run and I click view by breakdown to identify the best performing image, headline etc, how do I know which has been the best performing?
Look at see facebook post with comments!
@@NickTheriot Not quite sure where that lives! Are you suggesting the most commented on ad is the best performer?
@@NickTheriot Found the facebook with comments section from one of your other vids cheers! But how does this show me the best performing combination of creative/headline/description out of the different options?
Hi nick, if we run more adsets in same campaign, if that adsets are compete each other?
Yes but if you run CBO, then facebook will spend dominately on the adset that is most likely to perform at scale
hi, thanks for the video, one question,do i need a registered business to run facebook ads that doesn't get banned easily?
No you do not
Hey Nick, do you know why I can only add one image, where as you are able to ad 3 or has facebook as settings changed again? Cheers
You need to make sure dynamic creative on the adset level is turned on
@@NickTheriot Hey cheers for the response. Facebook was having a meltdown eventually came right thanks!
Hello Nick, very interesting video. How can this strategy be adapted by sponsoring different product variants? Inserting the collection link instead of the product page link? (I noticed that by placing the link of the collection the conversion rate is lowered). because using the dct option they would not match the products in the creative with the product page link inserted in the url box. Thanks and have a nice evening.
We only do collection pages when you're promoting that collection and we do product pages when we're promoting that product
@@NickTheriot Yes for sure. but if for example I want to sponsor 10 different canvas wall art, how can I adapt this strategy? I should enter 10 different links for each sponsored product and this is the problem. I can't use a single Dynamic creatives adset for 10 products because the link is different (in the "MAIN ADSET" see that it is not dct I think that there is not this problem). What would you do for the test adsets "001 and 002, ....." ? Thank you a lot Nick!
do I need to use dynamic creative even if I have new store with 0 sales?
Yes it’s the most needed time as you need to find ads that work for you
hi Nick! what if i found successful DCT and added post id to main campaign and sales are keep going at DCT not at MAIN adset , spend between this exact ads about 50/50 in dct and MAIN. no sales in MAIN , all sales with good ROAS are in DCT only. any thoughts?
Leave dct on until ad takes off in main and then turn off dct
Exlude "purchase".?
Im still confused
I only exclude purchase 30 days
@@NickTheriot please tell me why?
Is it always necessary to exclude it in every campaign?
Whether it's a new product or the first-time advertisement, is it always recommended to exclude it?
@@sobatbale4569 So that way when someone purchases from you they stop seeing your ads for 30 days.
@@NickTheriot last quistion, Is it necessary for every campaign to do it?
how can i apply this to my clothing brand? i’m a fairly new brand i have a much smaller spending budget for ads but i have a product that i know can sell. would $20 a day be fair to run ads? and how long should i run the ads before determining if it is a “winning ad” and leave it running vs a losing ad and turning it off?
I always recommend 1x aov for if it's a winning ad. Run whatever budget you can spend for 30 days on without turning off ads
@@NickTheriot thank you for the feedback! one more question: when should i turn off any ad that is performing badly? typically what time period. i look forward to working with you in the future when i have a larger budget and audience
I only turn off winning ads if over the last 7 day average is below target cpa.
What if i have to test 100+ skus across 3-4 different categories in the fashion space and i expect at least 5-10 perform well? I cant focus on one because all these products are unique and new to my niche so i want to test all but using dcts for each product to test sounds quite cumbersome. What is a better way to test these? Are catalog/dpa ads a better way to test this?
Personally not a fan of catalog ads, but worth a test for your scenario.
How about carousel ads? What would you do in such scenario?
60 days to test a new product????!!??!? Isn't there a faster way?
Fast is slow
I believe it was to test a new brand in the market

Increase ad spend
If you were doing 10dollars a day for 30 days, do 40 dollars for seven days. Then perfect landing page for the next seven days.
Nick, if im running a 100 daily..
and spent goes to dct rather than main.. what should i do?
what if new dct launched, and never get spent during 5 days. should i wait 30days?
Did it literally get $0.00 in spend or just a few dollars? If it's going to the dct and making money, who cares. Leave it alone
@@NickTheriot it gets few dollar spent.
Ok will leave it if overall is good can I increase it daily 20% with main n dct 1 running??
Yes you can

@@NickTheriot You act like most of the population you are teaching can blow up 3k like is nothing, In my country minimum wage is $650 a month, since you get a lot of money in return on adspent you depreciate the value of money a lot bc you are rich, but for someone that's starting out and have only 3k that's the most stupid advice. ¿If you can just blow 3k like is nothing then why don't you give me those 3k and sow you how I can quadruple the money with half of that budget?

He doesn’t like dropshippers. Only prefers brands. Silly guy must not know what white labeling means. He likes brands because of the longer contract he’d be getting. If a brand has a new product what are they doing in the market? The same thing a dropshipper is doing. Testing. Skip this channel guys.
Actually opposite, I’m fully for drop shippers. It’s the testing approach that is currently being utilized by drop shippers that I don’t like. It’s a poor way to give the test a true test. This will actually help drop shippers.
@@NickTheriot so you're trying to say test longer.
