Its been awhile since uploading so today we're going to do an old fashion how to video on How to kill Erymanthian Boar in assassin's creed odyssey. I hope this video helps people out, it can be difficult.
It's been a while since uploading so I am going to keep this simple and give some Assassins creed tips. :) I know it has been even longer since doing a gameplay video, though I have been playing a lot of this game lately and I think an assassins creed walk through and an assassins creed gameplay video is well over due.

I just uploaded a nightmare mode of the Kalydonian Boar guide similar to this one, I will be doing a new video of this Erymanthian Boar on nightmare mode once I get to the level again and come up with a nightmare mode strategy for this beast! Yes I had to start my game over as my cloud saves some how disappeared and the hard drive my physical saves were on had been formatted, so I will try to do all the legendary animals on nightmare more and come up with strategies for each, Thanks for watching everyone, I so much appreciate and am grateful all the comments so far on this video!
This comment is just in case others come looking.
I am on Nightmare mode and the first time a played through a few years back I just wound the difficulty level back on this then wound it back up afterwards. It always bothered me because it was the only thing I could not get past on Nightmare.
I am not certain what you or others meant by the mercenary method but this is how I did it.
I maxed up all my armour and weapons in Elis. I got into enough trouble to attract 2 mercs and got them to chase me to the boar and yeah they tagged me a couple of times. I play on "level up" so they are the sae level as me and the pig.
When I got to the boar it ran straight at me. I dodged and it ran straight past me into the 2 mercs following. They then proceeded to beat the crap out of it. I had to move about because one of the mercs would occasionally come after me when I fired off some arrows to help them on the boar. I knew I could deal with them afterwards so I focused on helping them smash the pig.
At one point I ran low on adrenaline bars but used "Fury of the Bloodline" to get 3 bars back.
When the boar was well bashed up I came in smashed it with the giant blade I got from Polyphemos the cyclops for the kill. Quite possibly I could have left the mercs to finish it off, but then that would be kind of cheating, but then farq Ubisoft's engineers I beat their damn farting pig.
Both mercs by that stage were also fairly bashed up by the pig and I got them pretty fast with an overpower chain, but did finish the second merc with Achilles spear.
I don't know if this lines up with how you and others did it but just the mention of mercs was a good enough hint for me to try and lure them into the fight which worked first time. It really did take 1 go and I suspect that using this method I didn't really need to have my gear as tricked up with engravings as I have it (see below).
For anyone who's read this far, best of luck, it can be done.
Most of all keep your distance from the pig and let them beat it up.
In case you are wondering everything is level 68
1st weapon: Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon with +50% damage to animals
2nd weapon: Achilles Spear with +20% Health & Armour
Bow: Hades's Bows with +15% Fire Damage & Buildup
Head: Perseus crown with +20% fire damage
Arms: Bracers of Theseus with +48% Total Armour
Torso: Jason's Golden Fleece with +27% Damage with Heavy Bladed Weapons
Waist: Hyppolyta's Belt with +48% Total Armour
Feet: Atalanta Sandals with +50% damage to animals

Idc what anybody says about shooting arrows at him. The second you aim the bow at him, he goes into a charge mode and nothing i used worked. All your arrows and adrenaline run out so quick on him. This mercenary method was the best so far. This is the only mission ive had trouble with this bad. FUCK THAT MISSION AND FUCK THAT BOAR
Rofl! I hear you. I went at this boar so many times I stopped counting. Then decided I need to start recording so when I do get it I could help others get through that insane fight. The arrows helped but I mainly used then to start a burn down and to make him charge when I was ready. That way I could hit the dodge and strike with melee. Thanks for watching :)

I just attacked a nearby mercenary and had him chasing me to the boar. The two then began to fight and he killed the boar and then ran away. I just sat and waited..

Died 6 times fighting this damn boar, rage quit and UA-camd advice, found this video after 4 other videos telling me to hire mercenaries and legitimately beat it on my first go following your video's advice. Cheers for putting this up and for helping the noobs of the world beat this unnecessarily difficult pig lol.

I don’t think it’s hiring a merc, I think they referred to getting one after you and luring them to the boar. Think that’s why the OP here said “legitimately beat” the boar with the guide here. 😂
@@EnforcerGamingXthx for the reply, didn’t see I had a reply till I deleted my comment, I looked at another video where you beat the shit out of mercs or any person and then get to use them later, kinda like taming an animal! I beat this fucking dumb boar with the charged arrows much better then straight fire arrows and up close combat the whole time!

I tamed a nearby bear and he fought the boar and didn't lose any health.

In case it helps anyone: - BEAR BEAR BEAR BEAR BEAR.
Tame a bear, you can hit it with the knock out arrows. Bear did most of the work then I finished it off with the stronger shot ability (not the fully overpowered one) and death arrows. Having tried for about two hours, this time it took me about 3 minutes, including getting the bear. 3 minutes at most. Never been so happy to see an animal die in a game!
Little tip. The boar can’t fart when the fire is more then 3/4th of a proc on. Which reduces the gas clouds to around 4 instead of 12. So throw torches to set him on fire. If ya don’t have fire arrows or fire skill
Huh.. interesting I'll have to try that on my next video on this boar plan on doing another on nightmare and seeing my saves were reset I have to so it again anyways lol. So you don't need to have a certain amount of fire skill? just fire proc?
@@EnforcerGamingX not exactly sure. I was using a + fire damage set. All arrows become fire, all engravings for fire damage, with mostly purples. So he was taking mass damage constantly. I do not know if that caused him to not activate the farting phases since he was dying very quickly and could not charge.
Combined with animal damage he died in like 30 seconds.
The night time messed me up too, thanks for suggesting doing this during the day! Much easier!

Damn.. you should be able to do it with this strategy. Main thing is keeping him farting at the outer fence and run more the inside. Having the 3 tiers of health so you can remove the poison. Hope you get it let me know :)

I genuinely beat him through a bit of sheer force. I just dps’d with arachne’s stingers, overpowered it sometimes and healed up, didn’t take an awful long time but it did take a few tries
The bull rage ability helped me a lot for this
Man this helped me so so much, didn't get the bow but fire is overpowered against it
You can actually stand near the fence, there's a hole, and shoot it from there with explosive arrows. It doesn't even touch you. Thats how i killed it.

What level are you at? It can help making sure gear is fully updated to your level also. The leveling and gear was different when I made this video but should still help a bit 😃
I got on top of that small fence, right outside the cave. Unloaded fire and explosive arrows. He never came to me.

I legit had to do this, I started replaying the game and got to this boar. Only to remember how much I hate the thing, and how I want to throw my Xbox controller at the TV everytime it kills me.

There was a camp near by so I let them follow me to the boat and the took a good portion of his health. I finished it off
Lol I don't really get, having Mercs or NPCs kill the boar. By all means go for it. But if you really just wanna take it out instead of the fight, you can turn on level scaling and difficulty to easy. I get that this one really gets under the skin, but I also like the challenge. Ok I found the actual best way to kill him. The mercenary method works great and also you can go to the cave on the back of the "battle ground" and fight there. He won't run at you but he'll fart poison, so you have to use the healing ability. Other than that just hit him non-stop

Holyshit that was hard, explosive arrows make it flinch and stay in place if you keep firing so I cheesed it using that method lol
Dang…first time I’ve died whole game…I feel ashamed but it was night and I didn’t have any knowing about the poison but i couldn’t stay away from it and died from the gas…😭😭😭

It took me awhile, really need to dodge and use arrows. Just keep running from him till he charges, he's too slow to catch up, then turn and strike. Build up your fire dmg and burn him down slowly while running was my final plan.
I’m playing on Hard and this boar is the toughest thing I’ve fought, the rest of the mythical animals were a cake walk compared to him, even Medusa, the Cyclops and the Minotaur were so much easier to fight than this farting Boar

Thank you! The idea of killing him with fire helped, if you have the full Set of Agamemnon, you get a +50% Burning Rate, so burn baby burn lol

There's other ways u could go bigger like bring all ur weapons and a curse bear is huge that take care that problem 💪🏼🏹⚔️
Stay close to the boar as much as you can - use the health ability; it’s so hard to use the bow
The last trophy is to kill the boar to complete Artemis questline

Something that will dot him. Just to burn him down while you dodge his rushes. You want to try and control his rushes, that's why I liked using the bow, so I can control when to dodge then strike with melee. Good luck, let me know when u get em ;)
After dying 7 times I put the MF in his cave and climbed the wall rehealed jumped down and dagger Ed the shit out of him and repeat

I was speced for assassin damage so I was having trouble at first. So i snuck into the pen using shadow of nyx, hit it with a rush assassination, immediately after a hero strike, then overpower for good measure. Whole fight took 7 seconds.
This battle took every skill as a misthios that I had. Very tough opponent.
Easy got it in five or six trys without the fancy stuff but the video did help thank you now i can finish the game in peace

It's near impossible to kill this boar. Been trying too many time. I'm at level54 but still not
I used the explosive arrows to stun the boar, if you spam them he will often unable to get to you. And I used the overpowershot when i head enough stamina bars. Was still a challenge on hard difficulty but it was quite doable.
I hate glitched levels this is the third time it happened on a game and it almost always makes tasks near impossible in my case the fart cannot be dodged as it takes up 25% of the arena per time it is casted although that could be because I am on hard difficulty! Which means I never have any window to use overpowered attacks as every time he attacks I need another heal!
Just made 2 mercenarys on nightmare follow me to battle smacked him first try
Yeah, it's a cheat way but effective. I wanted to do a nightmare version of this video but my save game corrupted and I never got back to that point..few days tho.. Valhalla!!!!
@@EnforcerGamingX it's not cheat dude. some legendary animals also use endless backup.
The mercenaries can go and out arena free without gliching your game. This is other alternative way since the first game release until its final update in 2021.
You don't need feel cheating or unmanly.
You fought beast since pre historic non Buddhist and Vege are hunting animals in groups.
Developer intended player could use this way.

Oh yeah, for sure this is probably the hardest beast in the game. After about an hour I finally started recording and thinking of a strategy lol
This is simple. Go there fully charged. Stand outside the fence. Turn to night time. The Boar will be laying in the entrance to the den. Get your bow ready and aimed, step one step inside the property, Let him have a charged arrow shot. It will knock him back down. Hit him over and over until one charge is left. Quickly switch to fire arrows and blast away from this long distance. He will never even get out of the cave entrance. 20 seconds is about all it takes.
How do you dodge this Boar? He keeps straight line attacking me as soon as he's half dead.

Actually this was before they had those levels, was only a week released. Only casual, medium and like realtime. It was about equal to hard, but not nightmare.
I finally got it on hard. Had to go back, upgrade my best sword, Harpe of Perseus, and added adrenalin bar recovery, engraved some adrenalin points. Then, since I was over level 50 and had ability points to spare, I used the master level to add more adrenalin points. Went in with 6 of 7 segments, fired predator mode/death arrows 4 times. Then used slow time to hit him enough to get my adrenalin back to 5 segments. Ran away, back to predator mode did enough damage that he was down to about a third health. Almost died, Armor of the Immortal saved me, and went in for the "Slow Time" again, got my adrenalin points back and fired one arrow that did 149,000 and got the boar on life support. The next 2 killed him. Whew that was tough.

The best way to killl it is with a hunter build since the boar cant range attack you its simple to dodge and lock on to the boar

Are the leaves poison or something what’s going on I tried backing him to the corner but still get poisoned
No when he farts it lingers, so anywhere he does it it stays till the end of the fight. So if u put him in a corner it's gonna get nasty lol.
He’s to fast to me
I’m a bit late but I’m gonna tell u the build I used. It’s only the armour and one of the engravements tho. The immortal armour and 2% damage dealt gives u health. It’s so useful because u basically have 2 lives. Plus have -1 adrenaline with over power attack.
Pairing predator shot and Devastating arrows (Which can be acquired through doing the other animals first) let me kill the boar within 7 shots if that helps anyone

I got my ass handed to me by this boar and the M----- (no spoiler) last night. I almost had the boar during one playthrough, but might just be too weak at spear level 4 and level 39 overall. Gonna wait a bit, come back stronger and take your advice and my revenge next time.
OK so the mercenary way is good. But too time consuming
The easiest way for me is to get a hunter build (just get any equipment that gives hunter dmg % the most) and start with a devastating shot on the head which would work even better if u have pyromancy on. Then shoot him once and quickly dodge even if he doesnt come at you that time, keep dodging and get far from him and try to look for moments where u can shoot him. And if you were to perfect dodge and get a slow boar then just do another devastating shot. I did this for like a minute and easily killed him, and i didnt have the best hunter build. I just equipped anything that had good hunter dmg. especailly on crit chance and dmg cuz devastating shot headshot with fire dmg % took down 25% of his health in one shot.

sometimes hits me just one time and i`m dead...pretty annoying ... i can`t get rid of the poison effect ...i need spear lvl 5 !
It's been awhile but yes definitely need to get the spear to lv5 that health skill i remember was critical to surviving it. I did have to make sure my gear was upgraded enough also. GL/HF 😀

It definitely helps, depending on what difficulty you take it on hardest and nightmare, you definitely want to max out your damage. I used the extra fire to burn him down a bit here. The max health ability is a must, because the last health ability removes poisoning, the farts are the worst thing as it will kill you by the poisoning. Thanks for watching!

@@jpreston2011the health yes, almost impossible to not get hit. The engravings no, unless you play on nightmare mode. I wouldn't even try without everything including having armor to level on nightmare. The other legendary animals are cake in comparison. If you haven't tried him yet, check out some of the comments here lol, there's been a few that really express this boar fight lol.
Using the bounty hunter method i killed the boar and got top mercenary

i beat all the other legendary animals it just stupid farting boar that frustrated bc i have posion the ability which work on all the other legendary animals just fine able to kill them no problem but this boar was impossible i thik I'll level up some get the ability to tame wild animals get a bear to try to kill it see if that work i hope it don't kill the bear in one blow
Are you playing on easy because I’m fully upgraded on hero strike and it’s doing no where near the damage you are
No, actually, this was about a week or 2 after release. Normal mode and hard are all they had at the time. I have been meaning to do a new video on this, but it was so long ago 😩.

im trying to kill it at lvl 37 almost impossible
It is hard, I still need to beat him on nightmare mode. The strategy here took me a bit to get the arrows helped a little to burn him down. You do need to have the health skill maxed. The poison removal is essential to beat this beast. Just don't try arrows only, he insta charges when you use them. That's why I'll shoot an arrow by the fence so he will charge and fart there keeping the poison more on the edge of the ring. Good luck, hope you get him soon. Thanks for watching.
I just upgraded my fire ability full used a my sword with the fire on it arrows way is to slow
i used fire arrows and my overpower skill with a hero strike at level 3 (100% assassin damage)
that boar was down in under a minute with that
It took me a few tries I will admit that and I'm level 55 (67 skill points in counting stellas) It's just a matter of getting lucky as my overpower move (using fire daggers) had to hit CRT cause it took like over half the boars health

Some others here took a new approach, kite an npc to the boar to do the work for you lol. It took me a lot to do this myself, I only kept the recording that I actually killed it lol. I failed many many times.

You did that on easy dude there no wzy u killed that with a bow saying it slow and won't catch u its way faster than the player
This was on hard, also remember I made this video like 2 weeks after release. There was no difficulty scaling yet. They could have increased speed as well, but yeah I could run round and round with it ever catching me. Even in other difficulties it doesn't change how fast they move only amount of damage and health pool. So if it's faster, then they had to of done it with updates. Bern planning for awhile to do this on nightmare mode. At the time of this video nightmare was seriously near impossible. I lost my saves, so been slowly leveling back up to this boar lol. Kinda interested in how it's changed over the year.

cannot seem to do enough damage i am lvl 61 and am using severely awesome gear but when i get this fucker to 75% or less he just rampage attacks non stop and its impossible to get away...(on ps4) seriously getting pissed off now
I get him down in health then he rams me when I clearly dodged and I die I've died at least 12 times
Lol yeah that's why I made this video and also why I did the video as post, my wife came in wondering what was wrong lol.. just a few words with the screen. Maxing my fire damage helped the most, and the warrior damage for the strikes. Getting him right after the dodge is best time to strike but have to have the health skill to remove the poison. @@EnforcerGamingX yes the fire was a good Idea but i was so fed up i went to find a mercenary to follow me in ended up leading one 2k meters and didnt even lift a finger to kill the boar it was awsome i then proceeded to the bag the boar lol i was very mad

I hear yea! Every other legendary and normal animals are pretty easy but this boar was s pain. Going to be trying it on nightmare soon also, this was in hard.

Yeah this is on hard difficulty, I may do another on nightmare specially seeing I have to start the game over. EA cloud save failed and lost my save games!!! Yeeeah pretty mad about that and the support ticket is not updating. Only save I have is from level 12 so I may as well start over on nightmare difficulty anyways you know? Well died the first time but got him the second time I had Hades Bow where basic Arrows become fire damage with also + 15 fire damage build up. Also the brutal mallet of everlasting flame where weapon damage becomes fire damage and that also I put on +15 fire build up🙂
