    great idea for connection to the the tire. also an idea I had for the peg was to get a hold of a handlebar grip and slide that on so u will have rubber to rubber.

    reroute throttle cable to the swing arm, bend tubing to allow the cable to pull in the right area, as for fuel tank get rid of it or keep as reserve tank, and buy a seat post mounted rack which you attach a 1 gal gas can, buy fuel lines from a lawnmower repair shop drill, 2 slightly smaller holes on top and bottom corner where fuel will gather, buy vacuum hose t-fitting that fit fuel lines, buy breather valve/check valve and short hose to fit (installs in gas cap) ,fuel feed line goes in drilled hole in bottom of gas can push through and pull out mouth of can insert t-fitting and pull back in till seated in hole, fuel return line goes to top of tank and gets treated the same as feed line, run hoses to carb, fill with fuel and enjoy your 60-150mile range. it works because i built for my 49cc bladeZ power board witch i would get 60 miles out of a gallon with raised compression, advanced timing, and a hp carb, averaged 25mph moving, peaked 33mph, rode from Whittier, CA to Santa Monica pier and back through downtown LA

    just a fyi i am a small engine mechanic weed eater engines are air cooled u can get more speed and longer life out of your engine if you put the plastic covers back on your engine so it is cooled off properly

    What you need to do is buy a motor (About 70cc) ,and then follow this guys istuctions because this dude's idea is very simple and easy to do.

    I would find a way to put the shroud back on the weed eater engine. Either that or make one. It's there to direct the air being generated by the flywheel to cool the cylinder. It might get enough air when it's in motion but while idling it wont have any air cooling it.

      being tied to the back tire ... i think it stops if he slows down enough... i dont think it does idle... from stop pedal against engine compression untill tire rpm gets high enough to turn it over and run... slow down and she either stops or cuts a hole in the tire...

      Check my rig ua-cam.com/video/SoRIaoGqdrk/v-deo.html Three parts right now only experiancing a little manufacturing issues due to wheel untruenesa but it's a work in action it's clutched though.

      Chamblizi The All Mighty! Yea the one i built was clutched aswell and instead if using on of them pegs i got a small 6in wheel and tire from harbor freight and broached a keyway in its hub, it worked great, gets a lil shaky at around 25 mph due to warped front rim.

    Ive done three of these and soon found out there is no need to have throttle control. Just open it up all the way and only run a kill switch wire. When you run up on a stop sign hit the kill switch and if theres no traffic and your still rolling a little it will take off again.

    There's not much chance that this even works. The drive roller needs to be knurled and even if it did grip the tyre it would soon rip all the spuds off the tyre. If you dont have the facilities to fabricate parts, try a BMX stunt peg as a drive roller, a nice grippy one. Nice effort though.

    How did you mount the bike peg, I want to build something like this to get to and from work and the store without having a motorcycle license (under 50cc you don't need a license, I'll try to get a 80cc but they'll never know), the only way I could see attaching the peg is taking a long bolt and using washers to hold the peg onto the shaft, how exactly did you do it?

    • @chambliziOfficialChannel
      @chambliziOfficialChannel 9 років тому

      You need rope a proper sized socket and ratchet to pull the 25CC motor new shoftersark plug, insert rope enough so you can still pull it put when your done. Pull your crank rope slowley and when the piston reaches the top you take a torx screw driver listen the bolt in the center shaft and off comes the adapter. After that you will need a pulling tool to remove the clutch plating.

    I am interested in making a bike like this, unfortunately I have very limited mechanical experience. WHat is a good way to begin? Should I just buy a motor and go from there? Thanks :) -Alex

    • @evilcowboy
      @evilcowboy 10 років тому +1

      Why buy a engine for a ton of money when you can visit a few garage sales and pick up an old weed eater. Thats how I got my 2 engines. One was a spare the other was already on a weed eater. I paid 10 bucks for both.
      With limited mechanical knowledge anyone can pretty much do this. The only real requirement for it is patience. Also sometimes people design how to put it together themselves (thats the option I used) others just copy someone elses design and improve on it.
      I put rubber bushing on for my mounts where metal meets metal. That keeps vibration down where as if I didn't do it my hands would go numb from the vibrations and the engine will eventually die with excessive vibration.
      If and when you become good enough when it comes to mechanics then you can decide if you want to do a chain drive system with a clutch. The easiest way to gain knowledge as far as Mechanics go is to work on some cars.
      I have 1 engine rebuild under my belt and also 1 tranny rebuild. I have worked on many cars and trucks so my mechanical knowledge came from that and there is still stuff I learn every once in a while.
      Best of luck with your project.

      the rear mount will only allow it to "float" back and forth in the pipe 1/4-1/2 inch....the force of the motor is directed towards the bar/pipe assembly so the bar/pipe assembly is pushing into itself....if i was to use this mounting technique i would double nut the rear mounts plus use locktite to prevent it from getting loose
