Today, we're going to be taking a look at the 873G Prolaser Vector by Kapro.
The 873G is a three beam laser that self levels up to three degrees. It has a forward facing horizontal beam, a forward facing vertical beam and a side facing vertical beam. It also has these strong metal folding legs that not only make it compact enough when folded to fit within a toolbox, but also when they're in use can be used instead of a tripod. However, it does have a quarter inch thread on the bottom and comes with a 5/8 inch adapter if you decide to use a tripod.
The 873G has an accuracy rating of 1/8 inch at 50 feet. It has an indoor range of 100 feet or 30 meters and an outdoor range of 200 feet or 60 meters with a detector. It's IP54 water and dust resistant and it also comes with this softshell carrying case and these three batteries to power it. Let's take a look at the controls for the 873G.
The on and off switch for your 873G is right here on the side. Simply turn the switch up and it'll turn your laser on. This will actually illuminate all three beams.
Now the 873G does have an audio and visual indicator if it's out of the self-leveling range. So let's just tip it to the side and then we can place it back down to make sure that it gets back to the level ground.
On top here, you'll see three buttons, you'll have your lock button, which will indicate your manual mode. The V/H is for your beam selection and P is for pulse and outdoor mode.
Let's start with the beam selection. Pressing once will turn off your side. Vertical beam pressing a second time will turn off your forward vertical beam pressing a third time will give you only your forward facing vertical beam a fourth time will give you both vertical beams one last time will give you all three beams again.
For pulse mode, simply press the P and the indicator light will turn on. This allows you to use a detector with your 873G. This is good for whether you need that extended range indoors or if you're working outdoors in direct sunlight. Simply press the P again to turn off your pulse mode.
For manual mode if you're going to turn the laser off, simply press and hold the lock button until your laser turns on and you will see the indicator light for your manual mode as well. Manual mode turns off the Self-Leveling feature, which will actually allow you to tilt your laser for angled markings and layouts. It will flash every 3 seconds to let you know that you are in manual mode. Simply press the manual button again and it'll turn off.
