Awesome video dude. I actually really appreciate the backstory beforehand because my truck was throwing the same code and acting the same way. I went through the hell required to replace the crankshaft position sensor as well, only to be let down. I figured the starter was next but needed something to convince me to pull the trigger on buying a new one. Your video did the trick, specifically because you gave enough detail for me to match the issues I'm having with your situation. A LOT of how-to videos skip right over the small details that people spend hours trying to google online, but you answered my questions in about a minute. Greatly appreciated!!

Thanks man. No matter how many vehicles I've worked under, I always look for information so that I'm not surprised at the worst time. We've got the same truck, except I installed a 302 Boss intake manifold, headers, throttle body, tuner, etc. It caught me off guard to hear your starter. I'm used to hear an immediate start with no turnover... well, I was, but my starter went out. Haha.
Did you do a video on the camshaft position sensor replacement? I believe that's the problem I'm having with mine (2018 5.0). Starts fine, but rattles like a bag of bones upon starting. Gets that same error code.

Just did mine. Honestly not difficult. You'll have to search to the correct combination of extensions and sockets as seen in the video. But even the top bolt isn't difficult. Just get used to working with your eyes closed.
I think I am going to have to do that to my 2016. How long did it take to do it (not including waiting for the new one to arrive)?

Any idea how to know if the starter needed is the one with the nose cone or not? I have a 5.0L 2013 F150 XLT, and the local parts store had both but said one replacement starter had a nose cone and one didn't. Any way to know before attempting this job?

Did you figure it out? Haven’t done any work to my truck but it started doing a grinding noise at start up and I can tell it’s taking a few extra cranks to start

Did your old one have a cone on the starter? Or was it a exposed gear that goes in the bell housing ?
