Thank you, Marianne, for this awesome explanation of luminosity using everyday examples. It has inspired me to take time to notice light in everything I see throughout the day - not only because it is amazing but also in hopes of reflecting this beauty into my paintings.
Such a wonderful reminder to make mental notes on the light and how it influences everything around it. I try to soak up those moments so it might come through when I paint. Thank you!❤
Thanks so much for tuning in! I too have trouble capturing the color as I see it but sometimes it's more acurte than others... Glad you enjoyed this video! Cheers to your artistic practice...
Hi Marianne. Really loved this video presentation about light and luminosity in our everyday environment. Absolutely agree! Luminosity is everywhere if you keep your eyes open. Just yesterday, I took a quick pic of late afternoon sunlight coming through my dark red silk curtains, creating such a range of vibrant reds. Like you, I take many photographs about colour and light as I go about my day to day life. Thank you for putting together an excellent presentation about how to be simply more aware of one's surroundings.
Hi Anne! Yes, we share a complete love and reverence for light and each capture it in different ways in our work. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts here! Glad you found this to be "an excellent presentation" as you know... it's hard to know if what you put out there is "doing it right!" Onward... 💜
this was so inspiring and such a wonderful reminder to really pay attention.....it has compelled me to do more of that type of walk around with my camera...thanks so much.
Hi Everyone! Capturing luminous light in a painting is something many artists are interested in achieving. While I have other videos that focus on how to do this in paint, this video focuses on how you can look at light in your everyday surroundings to learn how light is created through color and value relationships. Look forward to hearing your stories of everyday light occurrences!

I'm a fan of orange plus just about any other color. It's like salt that way for me, in that it improves most anything you add it to, which makes it quite precious. I appreciate the directions on observing, and hope to perceive more than just see the skyscapes I long to paint.
