I shop in Woolworths. I still have veggies from my previous groceries. I usually stock carrots and potatoes. Then if i feel like eating something else like broccoli or spinach, i buy because the supermarket is just 4 minutes away. As per fruits, i have fruit juices in my fridge which I bought over 2 weeks ago. In addition, I buy fruits every 3-4 days because i dont stock more because they perish quite easily. And i stock more, i doesnt look appealing. But i make sure, i have veggies and fruits on my meals. For this 28 day period until September 18, my grocery total is $309. I am $9 short, but thats okay. 🙂
@@yayangvelosoiii I live alone too and budget shop because I don't work but I think you can do better shopping and not be in $9 deficit. The cheap eggs are still too expensive. You can get cheaper eggs than that . And $7 you can get same quality eggs at a green grocer or posdibly Harris Farm. don't know where you are living but I always shop Aldi Coles Woolworths or Aldi Woolworths Coles on the same day . I also look for things that are on special all the time and if I know I need something for a meal last minute I get anything that is about to expire or best before date in about 1 or 2 days because there is nothing wrong with it and it is discounted. Favourite product from Coles that are always discounted because of best before or expiry date Coles organic fruit So far I managed to get a box of apples and they are still good for 2 at least a week and the mandarins were really good as well. I tried to grab a bag of Coles Organic oranges again from the discount trolley but the Asians grabbed them all so I missed out . I have a favourite budget product which makes me at least 3 meals - 2 kg bag of mixed chicken pieces from Aldi. They must be more popular then a bag of drumsticks or wings as they are hard to find cost about $9. Great for making curry or marinated then oven baked.
@@dulcinealee3933 o wow! Thank you for your insights. Yeah, i do watch out on items on discount and those expiring. Hundred percent they are harmless as long as you prepare them right. I can say, i am doing very well with my budgeting as compared before.
I forgot to mention I made a recent short video of an example of tackling food wastage and frugal thrifty grocery shopping Asian style if you are interested.
