03162 was on display at Carrog, where it is currently based for supporting the final stages of the Corwen extension. The 03 is seen stabled next to Derek Foster’s (former owner of 76079 and current owner of "Thelkeld quarry & mining museum") superb Ruston Bucyrus dragline excavator, which is being used to load ballast.

Nice job Dereck!! sitting on the governer there pal thats as fast as it goes!!! very fluent operation travel clutches protesting a little all usual with a machine standing a while, dont use grease on tracks so dont bother and i bet its a very nicely restored ruston well done
Brilliant machine Its nice to see the old 19RB in working order, and I bet it would give any of the hydraulic machines (in the same weight class)a run for there money loading them trucks
Just a small point, - that is a 'clam shell' excavator - the name is rather self explanatory. Not a dragline - they pull or 'drag' an open bucket towards the machine and then lift it.

it has a fairlead and two ropes so if you want to make small points this can be swapped in 15 minutes to its normal duty as a dragline just doing 20 mins loading with another equipment does not make it a clamshel excavator either its a base machine on clamshel in the video which at the end of its working day could be a skimmer face shovel dragline dragshovel pile driver to name a few oh and a crane if you get board so not an excavator tomorrow
just a few more small points
@@rustybycyclebragg9258 it’s not a dragline ( the point he made) , it’s an excavator rigged for grab, and unless you have X-ray vision, or maybe you’ve seen the Navvy up close, no fairlead in sight!, only the tag line, no wonder you get runoff Facebook pages 🤨
Great - a vintage cable excavator! Let's see more about it!
wish i could but don't know when i'll next be at Threlkeld
With a vintage crane operator too!
It may be vintage, It may be slow, BUT IT STILL WORKS.
Wow - looks like alot of skill is needed to operate one of these efficiently.
It would appear so! Thanks for the comment.
Nice video.
For God's sake Fozzie, open the governor up and let it rock and roll . . . !
You can reel the lines in at 137 ft/min, so the cycle time ought to be less than 40 seconds, if you want to make the bonus !
Nice to see the old girl working, though . . . .

More videos of these cool machines 🤬👀🤪😯😛
Made me a nervous wreck. Get with it
Tracks need filling with grease
3:02 idea to catch wild animals in areas with forest fires.
The amount of pollution that is being produced by that thing is disgraceful.
Now now Greta
