Solo traveling is so healing. Good on you for taking initiative to do what's best for you mentally. There's a certain peace you get with solo traveling too. And you learn so much about yourself & gain a lot of new perspectives in life as well.
Chicago isn’t as violent as the media reports. And Chicago is an amazing food city. It’s just beautiful and the architecture is amazing. I was born and raised in Chicago and I’m so proud of what a beautiful and clean city it is. Deep dish you should Lou Malnatis.
Oh it definitely is as violent as the media says it is. It's just not as much downtown as it is on the south side. You're definitely right about Lou Malnatis tho!
Try the Architectural Tour of Chicago on the river next time you are in town. Best way to see the city and it's beautiful buildings in the shortest amount of time!
I took my first solo trip recently and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. You'll learn so much more about yourself and realize what really makes you happy instead of going with the societal flow. It opens you up to new experiences and meeting new people, but at the end of the day, sharing your best memories with people you love is equally special. Also, downtown Chicago is not more dangerous than any other major city guys... just stay within the 3 highways that border the downtown area. Outside that area... eh, there are some certain bad areas you definitely want to avoid.
Glad you are having all these thoughts and get some of them being answered by solo trip! That's life, no matter what age, what stage you are, there are always things bothering us, what matters is how we react to those and choose how to live our life. Cheers!
Love that you enjoyed, but Chicago isn't as dangerous as most people think. Look up crime stats and you'll see we aren't even in the top ten. Media can trick people very easily. Chicago has some rough areas, but so does every other city. Chicago is also filled with diversity, delicious food, beautiful architecture, and really kind midwestern people.
There’s always some things you say in each of your videos that end up resonating with me. When you talked about the fear of lost opportunity of going anywhere without responsibilities like work, pets, plants or s.o. thats something I feel as well especially as I get more busy. Most of my travel is similar to your trip, I go alone but usually visit friends for some of the time, and I definitely enjoy both. I’ve been a bit burnt out on traveling since I’ve been going to so many places lately but this video made me excited to explore new places again!
Hey Coco, i cant thank you enough for this video. I wish I saw this sooner during my 1 month long trip last month. I felt so guilty and ashamed throughout the trip for having such free time while being unemployed after college. Peer pressure is real, seeing people around you securing six fig job while you are still clueless and behind in life is not a nice feeling. But, knowing im not alone in this has helped so much, so thank you for this video. We got this!
as basically a lifelong resident of this city, watching you visit the places I've known quite well makes me feel sick. I think it's showing me that maybe I should be doing what you're doing. Going out to a different space to enjoy something different.
Hi Coco, thanks for sharing your writing and thoughts. It is a big step when graduation ends and the thoughts of what next creep up. Moments come before you as if by a miracle, and you find something which leads to other things. You already know creative people and your spirit and nature is one of creativity, all these magical things intertwine and connections are made. You don't need to worry, you just graduated and things have a way of happening. Wonderful things. It's important to do things like this trip, see new places, explore new surroundings, find a little peace. If you are up to it, may I suggest a trip to the art or stationery store to check out supplies. It was like pure medicine to me, sometimes looking was enough, leaving full of ideas and colours. I draw every day and sometimes little stories appear or characters waiting for me to write their history. I know you'll do well, listen to your spirit and when you need it, let it comfort you. It works for me. My love and support, take care of yourself.😌😇😌
great vlog. fun trip! money definitly isn't the #1 factor of life but rather people friends relationships and experiences. your heart will tell you everything you need to know cheers!
Great video and life perspective. You are beyond your years young lady. I used to go solo to New York from Chicago when I was younger and felt much of the same things you did. Inspired, creative and happy. Not everyone can do this but I highly recommend to, if you can. New subscriber here!
hey coco, you not a lone. Most of Intl students are not getting jobs after grad. Companies are not willing to provide visa sponsor etc. You doing a great vlog anyway. I used to travel alone and explore new thing too. Live more!!!
Chicago is a wonderful city. It does get a bad rap, but for people who live there, they will tell you the press lies about the city. The food is great, and there is much to do. Over 10,000 types of pizza as well .
Коко ,привет ,спасибо за субтитры в видео ,очень приятно что ты думаешь о таких мелочах. Влог понравился, теперь тоже хочу попробовать такую же пиццу как в Чикаго 😂
going to chicago on thursday. thought about packing a big backpack since i am also cheap, but i gotta bring a winter jacket since it will be cold. paid for the carry on. lol
Yooooo, I know it wasn't the purpose of your trip, but next time you should leave downtown and hit up the neighborhoods like Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, etc. Totally different vibes. But glad you got to experience downtown and the heart of the city with amazing weather, and deep dish pizza
Interesting. I was so excited to see that she and her friend went to Albany Park to eat at Kalbi BBQ instead of sticking to the more tourist friendly areas.
Love the last saying: I don't care about Michelin. I want deep dish and I want Mcdonalds *paraphrasing*. lastly, six figures doesn't mean they are happy as always and perhaps lack of work life balance .
MIGRANTS are loving these videos, They are excited to make CHICAGO their new home. Work and Housing are abundant in CHICAGO. those restaurants and shopping look incredible! Thanks for the video!
I completely understand CoCo. But, the certain members of the news media will say Chicago is dangerous, there are certain parts that are rough, but Chicago is not as dangerous as some in the news media make it out to be.
No offense, I think you shouldn’t have headphones on while on the streets. You’re not really aware of your surroundings, you would not know if you’re followed by having earphones on! There’s been women kidnapped by having earphones on walking or jogging the streets. Also look around before taking your cellphone out in the streets, if there’s a group of young guys, they might want to snatch your iPhone and run away!
noooo. Wait I heard real chicago people eat the thin slice pizza there. Their thin slice pizza I heard were absolutely nuts and the deep dish is just for tourists
I’m a Chicagoan and I’m sticking up for my beautiful city. Are there bad parts in my city? YES. Is there crime in my city? YES. But there are places to go and not to like any metropolitan city. Great places to go. Great places to eat. Many things to do. So we get a bad wrap. One thing for sure. Democrats are destroying this city.

Wrong downtown and Northside is bad!!!

2:10 Deep-dish pizza is for tourists. Residents mostly like tavern style (thin crust).
🎶AND WHEN IM BACK IN CHICAGO I FEEL IT...🎶

Coco, what happened to JOMA???????
No offense, I think you shouldn’t have headphones on while on the streets. You’re not really aware of your surroundings, you would not know if you’re followed by having earphones on! Also look around before taking your cellphone out in the streets, if there’s a group of young guys, they might want to snatch your iPhone and run away!
If you’re out of country, like India, do not take cellphone out in the streets. It will get snatched or taken in less than 3 minutes.
always mcdonald🎉
CHICAGO
Hey coco! Do you know anything about joma? He didn't posted anything in half a year
Don't neglect your personal savings.
noooo. Wait I heard real chicago people eat the thin slice pizza there. Their thin slice pizza I heard were absolutely nuts and the deep dish is just for tourists
We still have deep dish for special occasions. The pizza we eat normally though is called tavern style pizza - it's delish

Why not just take the bus? Sometimes it's cheaper.
I envy you are independent and I wish I have your freedom
You are so cute and lovely 😊. Hope to meet you in real person. btw your video is kinda shaky 😅
