    I read an article recently in which they checked the riverwater in a country. They found huge amounts of microplastic in it which wasn´t there before. They tried to trace it back and what they found out was quite shocking.
    There were companies selling compost that was made from food that had been thrown away by supermarkets etc. . The thing is they didn´t use just the salad that wasn´t edible anymore, they simply took it with all the plastik wrapping still on it and threw it into a shredder which turned it into micro plastic. Well, the compost went onto the field, into the water, and thru rain and all into the river... probably into plants ... animals ... humans as well. Quite shocking.

    First off, Recology ships most of the recyclables overseas, not domestically. With China now rejecting a large portion of recyclables, the waste is going to Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The cost of recycling is going up to the point where recycling is costing more than it makes. While San Francisco may be sorting more, there is still a lot of waste that they label as recyclable, even though no one will take it as recyclable.

    Well done . Good job performed San Francisco . Please look into possible ways in the recycling of ceramic related things and how like an Australian private company reuse them in making of plastic again . As I of now I see the ocean as a gold mine . With the ocean waste how we can sort out our current housing problems . It's of how we can recycle plastic remove the dangerous parts of it , mixing it with all parts of melted bamboo , cow dung , paddy straw , coconut coir etc in making of housing columns , housing bricks etc .

    Hi. Nice ! Maybe it might / could be better to establish one complete fresh air system which supplies the fresh clean air for the workers on the working place . This system includes three parts: the first is the fresh air collection machine; the second is the fresh air transformation catheter including the main air vessel hung on the ceiling of the working place , which seems the big metal box and connects the fresh air collecting machine one end, and on which there are lots of the adapters on the box body which connect the soft mobile catheters that have two ends : the one end links to the main fresh air transformation box by adapter, the other end with the adapter of switching open button is to connect the fresh air masks of the workers; the last is the fresh air sealable mask which can not only supply the fresh clean air for the working workers but also say good bye to the unpleasant smelling. After the working each day, all the mask must be cleaned and sterilized by particular department which also means increasing the employment rate in San Francisco. Right ? Thanks.

    his is a big lie, less than 15 percent of recycled material can ben recycled. Plastic has to be a certain type to be turned back to plastic . It is much cheaper to make new plastic from crude oil which is the way new plastic is being made. The plastics industry is not in business to make new plastic from recycled plastics at a financial loss. China was using most of the recycled plastics until this year, the Chinese government found out it was actually costing them too much to use imported recycled plastics to use in their industries so they banned all imports of recycled plastic. As it stands now most of the recycled material finds its way to a landfill or incinerator anyways. Now you know why the Biden administration wants crude oil to become so expensive that plastic manufacturers will want to use recycled plastic to make new products. So we are gong to be paying 5 to 10 dollars a gallon for gasoline so plastic can be profitably recycled! Biggest lie ever told I.E: We are from the government, we are here to help you!! We can make most kinds of containers from hemp, even plastic if the darn government would get out of the way and turn our farmers loose to grow enough hemp to take care of all our fiber needs. Hemp can even be used to make cloth, tee shirts are already being made from it! Hemp can be grown without the high THC content needed for marijuana! As usual if you want to really screw things up in comes the government to the rescue! Paper, cardboard, cloth, medicine and yes plastic can be made cheaply from hemp sativa and its all biodegradable!

    She said all the recyclables are SHIPPED to domestic places...umm I would like to know this domestic place they SHIP to, because as far as I am aware US has been SHIPPING overseas, used to be China, now its India, etc.. Its funny how she exposed some truth in that sentence, by using the word SHIPPING. If it was domestic, it would be DRIVEN TO.

    • @celticlass8573
      @celticlass8573 5 років тому

      Domestic would mean anywhere in the US, not just local.

    • @Runner8617
      @Runner8617 5 років тому +1

      @@celticlass8573 I know what domestic means. You didn't understand what I was saying. The word SHIPPING means using a SHIP, and if her sentence of shipping to a DOMESTIC place was true, they would have to ship it to either Alaska, or Hawaii. I know for a fact US does not send recycling to Hawaii to process, or Alaska. I DO KNOW that US does SHIP to China, India, and other poor countries. So they are lying when they say they SHIP to domestic. They think people are stupid and will believe them!

      @@Runner8617 Obviously time for a waste -to -energy facility in the US. These units are expensive, but given the embarrassingly large volumes of waste in the US, it could be a business opportunity for someone, or a consortium. Failing that, the US government could take the initiative. An absolute disgrace shipping waste offshore to countries without the means to process them. It's how they end up back in our oceans. It could also be funded out of Extended Product Responsibility fees as used very effectively in the EU, Japan and South Korea. The US is certainly way behind on this issue and good on San Fran. for doing as well as it has.

    The ONLY new thing here is the compostable bins. They have a much bigger "Wastes Diverted" percentage value that they can brag about because Americans in general throws out a lot of food.
    But if you look at the materials recycleables (Metals, Plastics, Papers), I bet you a lot of that still ends up in landfills, or gets exported to foreign developing countries where a big portion of it ends up in waterways that eventually gets into the ocean (plastics).
    San Francisco and the Bay Area used to separate their Plastics, Metals, Glass, and Papers. The old method SHOULD be continued, because the whole new dumping everything into one bin and expecting them to be magically separated thing doesn't work.
