Let's get into the way back machine for a minute. There used to be this little store in what was once a house, somewhere between Shirley and Center Moriches. It's where I used to buy WWF trading cards. I also remember one Christmas, buying my uncle a lint brush that was attached to a wooden Model-T. It was a neat little store. The point of this is that they had a Rambo figure, before the official Rambo figures came out. It must have been an import of some kind, and every time I have mentioned it, nobody else had ever seen it. I have never seen another one anywhere else. Did I dream that? All I remember is that I couldn't afford it, and I bought some more WWF trading cards. I had all of those at one point, and I have no idea what happened to them. Also, in the time of the Food Fighters, and Army Ants, there was also Barnyard Commandos. The full sized articulated Army Men figures in the 90s were based on a Playstation game called Army Men. It was like Medal of Honor, but for kids. The one line I would love to see would be the classic CORPS characters recreated in a GI-JOE:Classified style. Many of those CORPS characters are just as iconic to me as the classic Joe characters. Somebody should secure that license and take The CORPS into the modern age. I have to admit that I was actually more into the little plastic Cowboys and Indians, but I definitely played with Army men too. Dana forgot to mention the time my dad was grilling burgers on the patio, and we threw a few Army men into the hot coals to watch them melt. Dad was not happy with us.
I do not remember that store at all, although I do remember the shoehorn.hmm How did Barnyard commandos slip my mind? I think I bunch them with the Cowboys of Moo Mesa...? I do remember the hamburger army man death cook out. Likely toxic but we turned out ok....at least I did, anyway and that is what counts.
