- Been running Aurora mode in RotN. Got a bit lost in my route during this run, and Zangetsu gave me hell, but otherwise I think this serves as a good par for this category. Dunno what the time is without loads as I don't have that tool, which most likely means I can't upload this to the speedrun.com leaderboard, but I digress.

I tried slicing the red moon with aurora like this video showed but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

Does anyone know how to reach past the iron maiden in the garden (Area before 1st zangetsu fight) or the top of a room that normally requires warp to get into (entrance hall before the garden)? On my first run, I was only missing those rooms and aim to get those in the new game plus. If this video has made it there, could someone timestamp the beginning of getting past the obstacle so I can see how it’s done?
I think you can lure a frog into the iron maiden for it to close and you can push it.
I noticed you can backstep off a ledge and while in midair you can backstep again. I managed to chain 3 backsteps somehow. Dunno how to do it consistently, took me like 100 tries to do it. I dunno if that can change the speedrun route

No, it is just a game with the new DLC character Princess Aurora.

Zangetsu is surprisingly easy the first go around, but he is tougher the second time. First of all, I would not recommend fighting him below Level 30 the second time that you face him. Second, I would recommend using both Finn AND Igniculus, namely, that you use Finn first, then switch over to Igniculus when you get low on health, as you can at least stay to one third of your health if you can avoid his attacks, but you should only need to do that once or twice, if at all. Third, you need to get Zangetsu pinned against the wall and just beat him like a drum set. Fourth, it also would be a good idea to toss in some Ray of Light attacks on him as well, as, if you can get them all on him at once, you can do around 280 HP of damage on him at that point. Fifth, the Cursed Flames, that is, the flames that he leaves behind him with words on them will be your biggest threat to Aurora. Sixth, the Ice Spikes that Zangetsu will throw at you can be a threat as well. However, they are also avoidable if you know when to move. Seventh, the Lightning Attacks are a joke and rarely, if ever, will they hit you, unless you are stationary, and/or are in the area where he launches them at you, but it will only be one at a time and not that often whenever he uses his Lightning Attacks. Eighth, his Fire Attacks will be in wide columns and they are easier to avoid than his Cursed Flame Attacks. Ninth, and lastly, as for his other Attacks, you can avoid the Grappling Hook Attacks that he uses against you. However avoiding his Jumping Slash Attack is tough, but doable.
I realized the jump slashes work amazingly in the fight during a later run. I know how the fight works, it's just a matter of execution after a while. Low and behold, the title character of the previous game is a hard boss. Go figure. :P
Biggest matter is to get the timing of the counterattacks, which can be a thing when he does the overhead slash as he will hit you anyway in that case if you're too close (probably weirdness with the hitbox if I had to guess)
That's a lot of good advice for playing normally, but ultimately I can't speed time to level during a speedrun (the route I take ends up with Level 22 at Dominique, which is plenty strong enough for the fight itself). As for spamming Ray of Light, my strategy does involve that, but I hold back a bit to try and time the counters, and also to manage my MP to jump slash spam. The fire form isn't really a problem, it's more or less the same as his first phase but more damaging. The thunder form is the most dangerous IMO because countering his jumpslash means you'll get hit by the thunder strikes if you don't backdash cancel, which means taking 90-something damage. The ice form can be annoying with the shockwave too, but largely the whole battle (at least in an Aurora mode speedrun) amounts to doing damage as fast as you can, pinning him to the wall with jump slashes, and timing counters to deal damage quickly and get your MP back.
@@zwatssecondchannel8825 , well, I WILL tell you how to beat Gremory WAY quicker than you are doing in the video. All that you need is to equip Finn and Rubella and just stay on her and, if you get low on health, just swap out Finn with Igniculus, get your health back (not all the way, but enough so that you will not die in one hit), swap back to Finn, and rinse and repeat. I literally beat her in around 30 seconds, and that is a generous estimate, but then again, I was not speed running the game, but that is not to say that a significant power and strength increase with your hits would not make the fight against Gremory easier for you. Just hack at her like a mob of enemies in a Dynasty Warriors/Shin Sengokumusou video game and, boom, she is dead super fast. Also, as for the previous thing, it is the fire with the Japanese (I think) on it that can pose a problem, but not necessarily the normal types of fire from Zangetsu. I also agree with you on the hit box thing, but I think that they will fix that issue in a further update to the game, and ditto for not fighting Kurekure, Glutton Train, or O.D. Sure, Aurora may curb stomp them, but omitting those fights does not make sense. Also, Zangetsu should be able to fight all of the bosses in his mode and Bloodless needs a mirror match fight of her own, as well as to be able to fight all of the bosses in the game herself.
@@zwatssecondchannel8825 , I am having a bit of a problem with getting one last part of the game. I do not know how to access the room in the Glacial Tomb that has the giant ice wall at the beginning. Do you have any advice on how to get past that area. I know that Miriam can do it, but I am not sure how to do it if I had Zangetsu, Bloodless, or Aurora. Please respond to my comments. Thank you.

I really wanted to buy this game, but it the combat looks so boring though.
It's not man. Only when playing with Aurora; Mirian who is the main character is MUCH fun. Lots of weapons (5-+) and a lot of spells too
