If more people knew about 14, he’d already be there! Unfortunately the MMO aspect deters many and it’s a shame cause they’d know once they get their hands on this game, what they’ve been missing out on! Soken is the GOAT of GOATs! I consider myself lucky to have been exposed to his music years ago!!!
@@mellar5864Sadly ff14's soundtrack is only well known in the mmo sphere. a lot of people don't pay attention to 14 because it's an MMO, like with 11. Plus this is easily going to be the first truly mainstream FF since 10 or even 7

That moment when Clive fully tells Hugo that it was him who killed Benedikta. No trying to hide it, no shifting blame away from himself, just a full on "I did what Cid would not." Clive is not a typical protagonist, and that scene proved it

I'll be honest, I'm disappointed he didn't tell Hugo that he wasn't the one who decapitated Benedikta.
Lots could have been avoided with more conversation lol.
@@Bahamut3525 no, Hugo already did many horrible acts to Cid's people before Clive got a chance of clearing the air by saying he wasn't the one to defile Benedikta.
Torgal was the true MVP of the fight saves your life twice even all wounded after that aerial blast attack come back into the fight to assist clive again in battle what a loyal dog!!!
I was screaming at home "NO TORGAAAAL" when she hit him and got really hyped when my pup came out of nowhere to save my ass. Man this freaking game...

I love the timing at 1:51 when Benedikta looks at the camera and the choir starts
That bit is epic, but I'd say include the strings before it too. The buildup makes it even more epic.

I used to dislike the abrupt change, it sounds so out of place to switch to such a calmer and sweet song in the middle.
But damn do I love it now. You can also hear that motiff through other battle themes

This has to win the best music award at the game awards, so many AMAZING tracks in this game. They went hard for FF16 just as they did for FF7 Remake.

The demo on its own is already soundtrack of the year. Cannot imagine what they have in store for the final release...
We share the same point, this demo ost is already ost of the year, but the whole soundrack may fight for ost of the decade, maybe more.
@@davidbmbm12Idk about decade given Nier Automata and Replicant v2...... have soundtracks that are pure emotion itself. At least imo. But FF has always been the pinnacle of videogame music imo. It's what got me into music creation and sparked my love for classical music.

Sokken is the Final Fantasy. He has been battling cancer and he's getting the upper hand. Truly inspiring. Both him and his music.
I can feel the ambition and defiant energy the ost exudes. It embodies the attitude of the hero, even when facing impending doom it manages to radiate the might of someone that still remains confident in his abilities.
Sokken has my gratitude for being able to create such fantastic score.
I love how every time this song plays you really feel like you are fighting someone incredibly powerful, and this will be no easy fight. Really worthy of being the Eikon's boss fight theme tbh

It's such a shift from the rest of the song. Absolutely love it.
That motif is in the other battle themes as well. To me, it sounds like the will to keep on fighting. Sort of like the WoL theme from FF14.

@@LukeSanMartin yes!!! The motif makes me think of the bond between Clive and Joshua and a certain Eikon fight is why this motif hits me so hard. I prefer the normal battle theme but the motif in the boss theme has darker undertones and fits well with the grandeur of the Eikon fights

this game has been the most fun I've had VSing bosses in such a long time, with this soundtrack to boot, absolutely fanstastic. What a blast

Honestly this probably one the best boss theme I ever heard, this need to win best Ost for the game awards
The first time I played this part the 2:18 part played right when Torgal came back into the fight and it made it 1000x more epic and a more fun experience for me
"Now, die!" I didn't feel the real power of this theme until Clive and Kupka screamed at each other, just the mutal anger and hate there made the ost hit so much harder, still one of my favorite fights, even if it wasn't as much of a spectacle as others

It's kinda like royal gaurd in DMC.
It’s a lot like Royal Guard from DMC which is sick. I especially love the other move you can get where you rapidly punch them like a hundred times, it has a counter at the beginning and if you get the counter you hit more times. Super satisfying

@@oliverreyes334 I don't think i'm gonna get a PS5 soon, and i never had any good experiences playing on PC. It's not a problem with money, it's just that i don't want to give up on the PS4 yet, there's still too many games coming and my time is getting shorter and shorter.
Soken loves to build on his old work and use leitmotifs. That section is so inspired by Final Omega from FF14

Love the incorporation of the main battle theme at 2:15, gives it a calm before the storm vibe and reminds me of Beethoven's Pastorale.
I like how evil and dark it starts off, but then it gets mellow and lighthearted. I guess this song is like Benedicta being a complex villain character that has good intentions.

It's not Benedikta's song. It plays on every dominant/eikon fight
There is no good and bad character among the main cast and dominants.
They're all grey characters. People commenting otherwise are children with pea sized brains that should choose not to breed.
Benedikta works for the King of Waloed who arguably has interesting motives.
Demo was lit. Loved this fight and the music makes it feel 100 times more epic
I’m a classically trained musician and have been a professional in the field for years. This is some of the most bad ass, beautiful, powerful music I’ve ever heard from the gaming industry. It is so unbelievably satisfying and I am obsessed with the FF16 battle motif. How could you not feel just utterly inspired by this.

@@arustyitalianhairyasscheek5305 It's from FFXIV eureka theme, you will hear the music again and again in that content so you'll likely never forget the music. The composer is the same person, I think he reuse the music bits into FFXVI because it's too memorable and fits in FFXVI atmosphere.

1:15 is truly the best part of this music! Seeing the giant crystal of the Dominion slowly transforming into a giant blooming flower is one greatest cutscenes I have seen in any video game!

Just finished the fight, got on UA-cam and hunted around for this. Will be humming 2:15 for a week now :). The change of pace with the cinematic dodge sequence was perfect.
