I think it's a crime to modify this original car. The WAAAM Museum in Hood River, Oregon has a original 1909 Franklin and after some recent work on it, the engine starts easily with 2 pulls.
Thankyou for your comment, the modification is fitted using existing bolt holes in the chassis and can easily be removed to restore the car back to original. This car is not a museum exhibit and is regularly used on veteran car runs here in the uk and whilst it is true that the car starts easily, the procedure of getting the car ready to be started on the handle is rather protracted, especially when the car has stalled on a busy junction on uk roads. This is why the owner asked me to carry out this modification .
